Tell him there were more Saints fans at the Fans Reunited game then there were Liverpool fans that might help him make he right choice.

No the same couldn’t be said for football, you would never be given offside for such small margins. Football is the whole of the ball has to cross the line and that’s it, it doesn’t matter where the players body parts are, but with rugby you can have the most marvelous try with the ball planted three or four foot in from the byline but because the toe of the player has broken the line by a few millimeters the try is disallowed, that’s rubbish. It would be interesting to know if this is the case in rugby league, as normally the northerners are a bit more modern in their approach. I agree that TV replys should be brought into football.

Thats where the commentators rightly disagree with you as the word in the rules is 'should' and so the referee had discretion not too. Warburtons tackle was not made with malice, the player was not injured and he does not have a past record of dirty play. No one not even the French would have complained if he was not sent off. The technicalities of rugby rules is what ruins it, what sport would cancel out a scoring event because the toe of someones boot may have broken the inside of a white line and spend 5 mins looking at TV to prove it. So you can keep rugby referring it sucks. And why have a half French referee. Now the respect players have for decisions is something I would like to see football embrace.

I'm not saying they don't deserve to be there its the pulling up of the draw bridge on loads of decent English clubs that is ridiculous.
-
I was thinking last night that a closed prem would stop the likes if us, Leeds, Forest, West Ham etc getting to plsy in Europe whilst Shamrock Rovers and the like get to. Rediculous.

Brugge is fairly easy to get too, got great beer and Bir*****rs know it will be another twenty years before they are in Europe again.

Personally I would go with the team on the up.

The trouble is for it to be worth it the increase has to be at least 13000-15000, so an extra tier of that size on one stand may look a bit unbalanced, considering that the kingsland probably holds about 10000. But the more stands and roofs you disrupt is more costlyit will be so it will take a good design to get the balance right. Still an odd looking ground will be a good homage to the Dell and it will make SMS unique which would keep a lot of people happy.

If I was a footballer I would much rather join a high flying Champ team then a struggling Prem side, but then footballers are odd.

That reminds me of a Ron Atkinson quote when told his injured player is out of it and 'doesn't know who he is' - "well throw a bucket of water over him a tell him hes Pele".

Forecast younger and 'better' brother is joining on a five year deal.

WHU brought a lot; but its not too far to come and watch thr league leaders.

You never know, the commercial pressures of Sky and the world domination desire of the Prem might have us doing a 39th game in Asia on Christmas Day any time soon.

That will be my mate Dave, he was cycling along the tow path of the Kennet and Avon canal and some little scroat from Hungerford had strung a rope across it at head height. He was doing about 35mph, it took him clean off his bike and damaged his voice box. Still SFC we very supportive through his recovery and now he is back at work in the ticket office.

Better get up quick if we want to be in the PL

The trouble is the gulf between the earning powers of the Prem and the Championship is getting wider, think back to the eighties and when teams went down they didn't have to offload or their top earners, there weren't clubs in the second division going bust. The evolution of sport is that the big and strong continually look for bigger and better competitors, the time has come where a European League should naturally happen, but the big boys still wont to dominate their domestic leagues as well. So we have ended up with a situation where the clubs below the big ones are forced to expend similar amounts of cash, this is just about sustainable in the prem but its not when you get relegated. So we have ended up with a set up where a prem team is in a financially unsustainable position when they are relegated, so how do you get around this when the natural solution of the european league isn't on the agenda; reduce wages, no relegation, Prem 2 or 5 up 5 down. Something has got to give and personally I hope it is a Euro Super League, but I can see Prem 2 coming first, however 5 up 5 down would be the easiest one to pass. I bet the lawyers are praying for a 'No Relegation' vote as it will be one hell of a struggle to realise it. -
Happy b'day Mattyboy.

Always good to hear when we draw that we have played well. -
I read it and grnerally through links on here, but this is just marketing which is a shame as in my opinion it is slightly at odds with the blogging ethos
