  1. Thought Alcaraz's touch and short passing were off today, he was a bit laboured in tracking back as well. He gets in great positions and if he was more on it we would have been more effective, he did hsve better spells. Tella was disappointing, shit touch and his body language was off at times, Martin was telling to track back better in the first half and he flung his arms out. He wanted to take the penalty, when surely the penalty taker is already agreed. He'll be our first to get sent off for two disent yellows. Smallbone was good, constantly running and covering the space, stopped attacks building, good range of passing as well. He, and Stu A were a bit half hearted for their third goal. Got to keep hold of him. Adams looked good when he came on, strong with his back to goal. There was a long ball up the line to KWP, he gave up on it and embarrassingly for him in rolled in play for ages, showing he could have got it with a bit more effort. Stephens has a short pass fuck up in him waiting to happen, although his block for a certain goal was crucial. Manning just had to smash that ball away. Enjoyable rollercoaster, but we are too vulnerable.
  2. Mate, try just giving your opinion on his football with out belittling other fans.
  3. You get the 'oh bless' medal for taking part 😂
  4. Ran on the pitch at Brentford. Brentford v Brighton and I was a skinny 17 year old and went there with my mates from school. It was a FA Cup game and we all lined up to run on the pitch at the end, the whistle went and I hopped over the fence and ran on, only to find that it wasn't the final whistle and my mates hadn't come with me. I was told to 'fuck off' by Garry Nelson and man handled out of the ground by the police, most of that was for show because when we were out of sight they were alright to me and when they found out I was sober and driving (I had passed me test the day before and borrowed my mums car) they opened the ground gate and let me out.
  5. Bloody left wing viruses.
  6. Migration is the issue of our time has it has been for centuries. The world seems a more unstable place since China has become more dominant.
  7. Confused by your post; are we going to be disappointed by the transfer window or have a squad full of talent and loads of new players?
  8. I think its because the royal family are more neutral fugures to Americans. The rest are politcal figures. The least political people on there are the top 4.
  9. What he's shit but we're shittier. I think he's better than that.
  10. Exactly, Brighton have made loads more selling in the Premier League.
  11. Its amazing the wider impact Tuesday's game has had.
  12. Thanks. So all this doom and gloom is based on that.
  13. I must have missed something, where has it come from that we are selling every player?
  14. Tino is good money for a player that hasn't been part of the set up for a while. I would expect them to play hard ball with Tella, we don't need to sell him and he proved himself last season and I wouldn't expect to see him sulk if he doesn't get his move. But with JWP, the club were right to respect what he has given the club, how hard he's worked to make himself a prem player and his desire to remain a prem player at his age, and let him move on.
  15. I think we will be allowed to buy more players next summer, but don't quote me on it though.
  16. I know no one is complaining, most were expecting those transfers and I believe that the majority of upcoming transfers apart from the odd one, will be expected as well. We will be alright.
  17. Like everything, it depends on how we respond. I mean you're worrying about Martin being poached before Christmas, step away from the future thinking and deal with the here and now. We have put a team in place to manage the transfer window, which is reassuring to a point. Every transfer window is like this for us, I know coming down people thought we could be the big boys, but we are operating in two markets, the prem one where we are still Southampton of old, where the big clubs will hold out on doing deals for our players, who are not so important to them in their scheme of things. And the Championship one where we have some muscle, but the club have decided to let the outs go first before we purchase players. Now that might be the sensible measured approach, it might be too cautious and there's a very slim chance it might be a sign of the owners wanting out or something. I like to wait and see and deal with the facts as they present themselves.
  18. Ibrahima Diallo - Al-Duhail, undisclosed Mislav Orsic - Trabzonspor, undisclosed Mohamed Elyounoussi - Copenhagen, free Theo Walcott - Released Willy Caballero - Retired Duje Caleta-Car - Lyon, loan Mohammed Salisu - Monaco, £17.2m Tino Livramento - Newcastle, £32m Dan Nlundulu - Bolton, undisclosed Kegs Chauke - Burton, undisclosed James Ward-Prowse - Happening That's the outs at the moment, plus a couple of loanees out and Nlundulu and Chauke to Bolton and Burton. All the outs so far are either expected or welcomed by fans and most of those who will leave this transfer window will also be expected or welcomed. There may be one or two leavers from outside of these groups, like Tella of Smallbone but we can handle that. People are either catastrophising or just being inpatient, things will pan out over the next two weeks, mainly towards the end of the transfer window, this is the lot for a relegated team that wants to rebuild/refresh their squad.
  19. I bought a Celtic kit with no sponsor on a few years back, it might have been more I can't remember. My son who has only ever seen kits with sponsors on thinks it looks weird. My sons match day top came Monday, the blue one (is actually green), anyway great quality and he's lived in it for the last two days.
  20. Real life is more nuanced than this.
  21. Isn't the large turnover due the the good players wanting to play in the Premier league and us wanting to get rid of the dead wood. The squad was bloated and badly needed a refresh.
  22. So is finishing 6th/7th in the prem and playing to Europe not good enough. Why would the second tier European competition be beneath Southampton.
  23. It's not a tin pot competition, I would love Saints to be in it.
