  1. Possibly the N&S circular roads were the extent of Shapps demand, who knows. Now the tories see opposing it as beneficial, we will never know the truth. As it's part of the bail out settlement Shapps has made it as much about revenue raising as it is about pollution reduction.
  2. If you read the right wing press you wouldn't know that ULEZ was invented by Boris Johnson and the expansion was required by Grant Shapps as part of the post covid bail out settlement.
  3. There will be a few that's for sure and plenty more in the back benches, the ones a strong leader could ignore. But unfortunately Sunak feels he needs to keep on board, to stop a big tory party bust up.
  4. This smells of Braverman wanting to start a fight with the supreme court.
  5. Correction, he wasn't banned from the UK, his one offence wasn't originally deemed servere enough. He has now effectively been banned by the back door. There is a massive difference.
  6. So the IMF didn't get the April prediction correct, but you are convinced that they're bang on with this prediction.
  7. The two water lines represent the two rivers and the tree represents the parks of Southampton. Not the sea or the forest, according to the designers son who came on here years ago to explain it.
  8. Didn't realise it was the side stand, couldn't work it out and got two tickets, one in front of the other, not side by side 🙈
  9. Too many cunts to turn the ship around. This happened to my wife just last week. She is a civilian and after having different managers come in over the last few months talking about changing the culture, the New Met and their door open policy. She had a issue that she wanted an answer to, so she emailed her boss and director of the department, she missed out a few useless bosses in between. One of the missed out bosses was caught off guard and wanted my wife disciplined for emailing the director instead of him. In 2023 people still want to manage like it's the 1970's and no one has the balls to stand up to him. Fortunately my wife in the job for years stood up for herself, but it caused a load of shit last week. He won't be spoken too and her original email still hasn't been addressed. So you have people at the top and at the bottom that want change. But in the middle there are loads of people that it is just business as usual, who completly ignore any direction they don't agree with. They are often recruited and managed by old mates and the managers below them are reliant on them for promotion, so these people are free to act in whatever way they want.
  10. Nick Ferarri starting his show this morning yelling 'Run for your lives'. Is he now part the MSM/RAF climate catastrophising conspiracy or is he still a truth seeker?
  11. Is that it, a couple a areas amongst the 100s of towns up and down the country, areas with there own particular issues. Brighton voted in a green council, they were of course going to try and curb car use. They've since been voted out because the people didn't want it. All those examples are small areas within the towns and cities that will be car free. You can still drive into towns up and down country, park up and go to the shops if you want to.
  12. Pedestrianisation is a complete redherring, people don't stop going to town because they can't pull up right outside the shop they want. I assume Norwich still has car parks. And pedestrianisation was brought in to attract people to towns.
  13. How car drivers less welcome in town centres now compared to say 10 or 20 years ago?
  14. Pedestrianisation of high streets has been going on for what 60 years, that's not why high streets are dying, people are shopping in a different way.
  15. Yes when you are belting along and you first join the back of a jam, leaving a buffer space is wise. But once you are four/five cars in there is no need. Yesterday the queue was from J9-J16, we were well into the jam, going at 15mph then stopping. There is no need to leave the space, it makes the length of the jam longer, so of course it makes the jam clear more slowly.
  16. People in traffic jams leaving four car lengths clear in front of them. Saw loads of this on the M25 yesterday.
  17. I'm not a lover of the monochrome badges on the away and 3rd kits, I want a full colour badge.
  18. Yes strange, but equally strange are all these people who didn't think flying was an issue, suddenly do.
  19. The tories strategy is to now focus on 'Labour in Power', to build a project fear of how shit is going to be under Starmer, by looking at the labour mayors and the Welsh government. They want to pick holes in the labour record in office because they're record in government is so appalling. It's interesting that they are not focusing on labour councils, because of course the majority of councils that have gone bust are tory ones.
  20. Not if we are borrowing to do it.
  21. What people want and what people are prepared to put up withto get there, aren't always compatible.
  22. Shame about Uxbridge, hoping for a clean sweep. Life in the old scabby blind dog still.
  23. Haven't you heard of binoculars?
  24. I agree, but that won't stop the money men trying.
  25. The only thing to worry about with Saudi Arabia is whether UEFA start sniffing the cash and try to shoehorn them into the Champions League. I did see a kid in the park wearing Ronaldo's team shirt, FFS.
