They hadnt paid their staff for two months apparently so you cant taker anything for granted. There is also previous history for accidents after botched repairs on tailstrikes, years after the event. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/China_Airlines_Flight_611 Obviously a bomb onboard is possibility too. Its too early to say.

Cup games are a one off though. I think if you kept at least some prices low for every game for a long period you would gradually attract the younger fans back who tend to be more vocal. God knows what the average age at games is now. Clubs could do more in terms of subsidy of away travel too.

'Big Girls Don't Cry' would suit them better. That or 'Working my Way Back to You (League 1)'

Under the new tv deal match day income will account for less than 10% of total income. The clubs could make every game free and still nett more than they do now. There is so much more they could do to improve atmosphere.

This. Its not yet clear whether we have been lucky with recent player transfers or skilful. I suspect both. Thats a hard trick to pull off year after year.

New England In The Fall - Anyone Done It?
buctootim replied to View From The Top's topic in The Lounge
Never done New England but you also get all the fall colours in the Blue Ridge mountains in North Carolina and Virginia. Drive the Blue Ridge Parkway and spend a couple of days in Asheville and a couple in Washington DC. The weather is better too. http://www.blueridgeparkway.org/ -
Ha! sweet! You don't even understand the quote. Its all about the rights of the community over the individual, collective security and clamping down on tax evasion. Franklin wanted to raise taxes for security on the Pennsylvania border but the corrupt Governor, the Penn family's placeman kept on vetoing them. The Penn family was trying to give a lump sum of money in exchange for the General Assembly's acknowledging that it did not have the authority to tax it. The liberty is the right of the state assembly to tax. The temporary safety is the limited short term security the Penns money would have bought. It's a pro-taxation and pro-defence spending quotation - a cotton wool nanny state .

Depends on your ability to read the game though. Most arent very good at it - striker scores = good, doesnt score = ****. Pelle's problem at Brighton was the lack of service, he was getting in all the right positions. We lack other forward thinking central midfielders, which is why Clasie will prove to be a big asset when he gets up to full capacity.
-
Fans tend to expect too much of players too soon. I was at the Brighton pre season friendly a few weeks after Pelle and Tadic signed. People were saying he was **** then, even before starting a competitive match.

Sometimes you're right on a point and sometimes you're wrong. Regardless of that you never fail to be an utter utter bellend.

Me too. The ideal would be the club pays her back what she's put in and then she draws a relatively modest amount from profits each year - basically a hobby that pays for itself. A benign owner who basically runs the club on a sustainable self funding basis but remains ready to invest for expansion or bail out the club should we hit a major problem is the perfect scenario imo.

Take your own advice. You've posted 74 times on this thread. Sometimes its important to know when to stfu.

He played well first half - which puts to bed the questions "is he good enough?" and "can he adjust to the pace of the PL?". Now we just need to know if he can get fit enough to do it for 90 minutes.

tbf they're having their bad run now. We've had a great few years at their expense but you cant expect the kind of repeat year after year **** ups that it would take to keep a club with two or three times the average playing budget to skilfully avoid promotion. That's not to say it cant be done - if anyone can do it then Pompey can, but its not likely. They will go up sooner or later, but I cant see them ever getting back in the PL without a mega money injection - and the ownership structure they have is perfect for preventing that happening.

Some people are 99% straight and 1% gay, some the reverse and most somewhere in between. Most predjudice / bigotry is against outward culture and behaviour rather than race or sexuality. A black UK born, private school educated lawyer is far less likely to experience racism than a recent immigrant who dresses and speaks differently. Its the same with camp behaviour.

Not really sure what the argument is about. Some gay people move to places with an active gay scene and some don't. Not tricky is it.
