Because being part of a team which came 8th in the PL is nowhere near as big an achievement as winning a world cup, being European player of the year, winning 100 caps or being Saints most gifted ever player?

I dont really care if they stay or go - stay for traditionalist reasons and go for democratic and economic ones. I do object to more preferential treatment through devolution max and susbsidies. Despite what that poll says I suspect that on the day many supposed 'yes' voters will get cold feet and vote 'no'.

Sepp Blatter considers "review of decsions"

I don't watch Rugby so cant say whether this Telegraph piece about the downside to refs using video technology to make a decision is accurate or not. Food for thought tho. http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/technology/jackrivlin/100011361/rugby-at-twickenham-thanks-to-video-technology-referees-are-too-scared-to-do-their-job/ -
Yes but voters aren't 300 years old. People, rightly or wrongly, vote based on their recent experience. They've had fours years of the current government elected by England and which only holds 20% of the seats in Scotland. The Prime Minister and most of the cabinet come from a party with 1 seat out of 64 in Scotland. You cant underestimate the drive that gives to the independence campaign.

Hey Bearsy, Ive found somebody thicker than Shaw!

Its endemic in Tesco now - which is part the reason they are losing market share. They think they are being smart by having lots of offers and different sizes so its hard to compare. Some 'special promotional packs' turn out to be more expensive than the regulalr pack when you compare price per gram. They think their customers are too stupid to work it out, but eventually people cotton on to the fact they cant be trusted. Unfortunately my local Budgens thinks it should copy what Tescos do. For the past 3 months they have been running a 'buy one get one free' on 184g packs of Supervalue bacon (ie the cheapest crap) and are charging £3.45 per pack. This is despite the larger 225g packs of Supervalue bacon (not on buy one get one free) being only £2.25. I now travel out of my way to avoid both of them. Sainsburys, ASDA and Waitrose arent immune to this, but they are better.

People should watch this clip. You'll want to double whatever you were thinking about giving. [video=youtube;1e8tqTw-GBA]http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=1e8tqTw-GBA

Signed a contract / pre-contract agreement for next season perhaps...

Rodriguez took a while to adjust too. I think he'd do well at a club like Saints.
-
He's raising about £3,000 per day - thats really impressive, especially since he's not a nationally known figure. Perhaps the 'issue' is that the target was over ambitious rather than the achievement being low.
-
Ings wasnt sold during the window and hasnt signed a new contract. Can't help wondering whether he might be lining up a move to Saints on a (near) free next summer.
-
If AB were really unwanted and bering frozen out he would have been sold in the window. You can argue his dumping as number 1 was harsh, but he is 34 and in the last year of his contract. It makes long term sense to get FF established with Boruc as backup. Agree about FF getting down to balls though - can see us conceding a lot from daisy cutters.
-
Its not just public sector. I bought a sofa 8 years ago. Every three months since then they've posted me a heavy glossy catalogue. Whatever profit they made from the original sale must have been largely used up by now.

I'd rather we nuked Edmonton

Talking Tactics: Koeman gives Saints fans reasons to be cheerful
buctootim replied to pap's topic in The Saints
Sure. Im not slagging Pochettino, he moved us on a stage and mostly did well. Im simply saying that the squad was too thin to give more options (perhaps his fault, perhaps not) and that he continued too long with the same patient build up game plan in some matches when it wasnt working because the opposition were content to let us keep the ball in areas where it wasnt a danger. Being more direct on occasion (not long ball) could have helped. -

More intelligent maybe but not necessarily better. After all you can change things during a game by pressing more / less, go narrow / wide, keep more players behind the ball etc without changing players. -

Nope. It was us who tired due to the intense pressing and running and so faded badly in the second half. -

Its this which is utter drivel. In order to change tactics you need different players? really? That will be news to every football manager. Pochettino was wedded to his philosophy of playing the Bielsma way. He may have beeen capable of change, but he invariably chose to stick to his approach even when it wqas clear it wasnt working in some games. Koeman is better at playing to the strengths of his players and to the weaknesses of the opposition - a far more pragmatic approach and ultimately more likely to be successful at a club like Saints where we (mostly) dont have the luxury of the best players in the league . -
We should get rid of that bloke at the end. He was shi te

The early PR was poor and showed inexperience. That said they recovered very well - have shown ability and been true to their word.
