Depends whether you are the kind of person who thinks dumping on people or in order to get what you want is okay, or whether you'd rather give people the chance to succeed in the new opportunities they created. As others have stated - im not really interested in supporting a club which favours a revolving door of mercenaries. If you want talented players like Luke Shaw to remain loyal you have to show them loyalty means something to the club. Clearly it doesnt and as a result Im that much more distanced from it and less likely to turn out for games or enthuse to my kids about why Saints are so great.

Er no he hasnt. Its easy to look good temporarily when you are spending buckets of other peoples money - after that not so much. NA worked the wonders for Southampton. Cortese made a good appointment in NA and Pardew, maybe even in Porchettino - but he has alienated a vast portion of the fan / customer base, alienated much of the media, lost key staff repeatedly and disrupted the team half way through the season when it was climbing rapidly out of the mire. Bad judgement too often.

Which course of action respects their father's wishes best - whats best for Southampton or whats best for Cortese? For the first time Im thinking they arent the same thing.

You have to show loyalty to receive it. Sad thing is no doubt the club will be playing the loyalty card to get Luke Shaw to sign a contract and trying to big up the 'your club' angle to sell more tickets. Just as I thought we were learning the lessons from the past and from other clubs - chopping managers regularly and trying to buy success doesnt work (unless you've got hundreds of millions not just tens) but building team spirit and cohesiveness does - we go and blow it again.

Agree with this. My perfect outcome would be NA gets a PL job, Saints get relegated, Cortese and Pochettino get sacked and I enjoy a promotion campaign again.

Im pretty sure that in a years time NA will be a successful PL manager and Pochettino wont.

You can kill a whole class of kids in a couple of minutes and large capacity magazines mean there is no reloading break where someone can grab the weapon from you. I have no problem with properly controlled shotguns or four / five shot hunting rifles for those who need them. Assault rifles freely available to the general population are an abomination.
