  1. You've called it right Alpine. Lovelock has been the "Godfather of Global Warming hysteria" for years - and for years you would have struggled to find any climate scientists that agreed with him. Im glad hes recanted because he provided ammunition for rags like the Daily Mail to claim climate change wasnt real. It was and it still is.
  2. I think you misunderstood some of my point. Im all for rewarding sucess in this life by the individual - but when you die you money and assets return to wellspring just like your body. Meritocracy means you get rewarded for what you do in this life - not that you get to live off what some able ancestor was able to do at the expense of the talented and driven in this generation.
  3. And its not your society. I dont want a society where 8,000 people own 65% of the wealth, and two thirds of them inherited it. I want a meritocracy where entrepreneurs earn more than employees and ther highest tax level is 40%. People should be free to earn or make all they can in their lifetimes and when they die the clock is reset to zero.
  4. "Butt-****ed by Cardiff in play offs" Is that the consolation prize for not getting promoted?
  5. Camped in Chamonix (French Alps, great view of Mont blanc when you wake up) and San Giminiagno (Tuscany, Italy). Can recommend both of those. http://www.campingdesbarrats.com/camping-chamonix-fr/camping-3etoiles-centre.html#
  6. So the other eight players from teams that aren't Saints don't count? Three from eleven isnt exactly cleaning up .
  7. Totally. If you want really fun driving instead of just an image get a Caterham. Can buy good ones from £10,000 or £175 for a days hire, and faster than a Ferrari too!
  8. People who **** themselves about Ferraris have usually never driven one. They're track cars with lights on. Rock hard suspension, bad visibility, uncomfortable, go out of tune after a few hundred miles. Thats why you find so many 25 year old cars with only 50,000 miles on them.
  9. Ive got one of these. Really nice cars and dirt cheap for what you get (about £34,000 new). The only thing it doesnt match on your spec list is the mpg. You'll get around 28mpg for the 2.0, maybe, 27mpg for the 2.4 but only c23 for the 2.3. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/search/used/cars/volvo/postcode/bn68qb/radius/1501/transmission/automatic/maximum-mileage/up_to_80000_miles/sort/default/price-to/4000/body-type/convertible/maximum-age/up_to_10_years_old
  10. Slightly bizarre criticism of Chairman imo. He gave an experienced and long serving Wolves coach and assistant manager a crack at the top job - just as the S****horpe Chairman gave their physio a chance and Reading gave their coach McDermott a chance. Much better than plumping for once of the 'established' but past past it serial failures like Burley or Cotterill many go for. Maybe Connor shouldnt have accepted mission impossible, but he did of his own volition.
  11. Sounds like the napalm may not be necessary then
  12. Selling five tickets for every one passenger you stab doesnt seem the right balance to me.
  13. Its indirectly beneficial to me to drive 45 miles to Reading next year instead of a flight, train and hotel to Middlesbrough.
  14. Because if the newspaper reports are in any way accurate, the evidence was too weak and contradictory to get a conviction, regardless of whether he did it or not. And so it proved.
  15. Doesnt mean Chanrai will save them long term though. He may well do a 'Bill Archer' and sell the ground and everything of value before passing on the rump club for £1
  16. Bit of a pathetic reaction imo. The new kit is yellow and green and the sponsor is Aviva (formerly t/a Norwich Union). Hardly an earthshaker is it?
  17. There would need to be a fit and proper persons test for all the new fans in any expanded stadium. Maybe the resident label whores could help us out.
  18. Well he couldnt exactly say cage fighting thug could he? "you struck first as you swung with the glass it was much too fast for Michael Matthewsian (the professional boxer)

    Biscuit

Interview with woman who has tourettes. Biscuits get mentioned once or twice. Bizarre, but funny too. http://news.bbc.co.uk/today/hi/today/newsid_9714000/9714435.stm
  20. Good clip, really thought provoking. Was expecting some kind of scientology claptrap so a pleasant surprise.
  21. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-17749533 Swedish minister called on to resign. Thought it was a big fuss over nothing........ .........till I saw the head lulz.
  22. We were runners up to champions Brighton last season. Seemed to work out better for us than them.
