The tactics and shape were spot on. United did better in the second half because we started to tire after an hour and were only able to bring Gobern on whilst they called on Giggs and Nani. Big difference. The idea that if we had changed shape a bit we would have changed the course of the game is risible imo.

I can't wait for the ITV coverage of the Game.

Think they might have a go with Schneiderlin -
Scunny continued to play well for five or six games after Adkins left, then went into freefall.

Good post Phil. Its to do with land ownership as well. If land is owned by local individual farmers they can raise their standard of living by growing high value cash crops which are sold to the developed world and generate enough money to feed their families, educate them and take care of health needs. If the land is owned by international agri-business companies and the locals only get to work as poorly paid labourers the rising price of wheat is disastrous and will lead to more unrest imo. -
Imo most peoples predjudices are based on an instinctive gut reaction, not logical thought. I know mine are. People react to others who look or sound weird or different. I'm comfortable with the smack addict who wears a suit and commutes to a job in the city, wary of the guy jacking up in a shop doorway. Probably comfortable round an Imam from Bournemouth, maybe not around one from Chechnya. Happy to be served by Katoey who is smooth chinned, soft voiced with feminine features - put off by a bestubbled 6'2" 14 stone hairy armed one in makeup and skirt. Its not rational - just the way people are imo.

My hunch, based on nothing at all, other than circumstantial comments by Cortese and Adkins and is that Markus allocated a specific amount to the 'project' - ie get Saints back within 5 years. If we use up a big chunk on transfers now, or run at a big annual loss there will likely be less for when we need the big push up from the championship. I can imagine the family honouring Markus' plegdes, but not committing big new money.

Glad he has got a contract at a club where get gets to play, and hoepfully a bit of cash in his pocket from his Saints contract being paid up.

They should offer gastric band ops with enough Tesco club card points. He could afford it in a couple of months. -
Yes but his club will have a value they put on him, like Saints and AOC. Stump up the cash or bog off - which is fair enough really.
-
He might think that, but his club won't give a monkeys.

Thanks Paul. Always gave 100%.
