    Bob Crow

Boris Johnson I'm shocked. Bob Crow was a fighter and a man of character. Whatever our political differences, and there were many, this is tragic news. Bob fought tirelessly for his beliefs and for his members. There can be absolutely no doubt that he played a big part in the success of the tube and he shared my goal - to make transport in London an even greater success. It's a sad day.

Say hello to Maggie for me Bob.... http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/04/10/bob-crow-says-margaret-thatcher-hell_n_3053696.html
  3. And no "lazy lying scumbag journos etc" yet either....
  4. Just thinking out loud, wouldn't it make sense for the 'black box' to have a sensor built into such that it automatically starts transmitting an emergency signal the second that something 'unusual' is detected. Don't they currently only start transmitting a signal if they go below sea level? Edit: I guess that's what you were alluding to Hutch?
  5. This may not be the most tasteful or amusing observation at this moment in time, so apologies in advance, but my old man always used to tell me that the best way of reducing the chances of being on a plane with a bomb is to take a bomb onboard yourself, as the odds of their being two bombs on a plane is exponentially greater than one. Or perhaps it was an old Bobby Davro 'joke'... Stopping my dad saying this out loud at the check in desk 'for a laugh' is always a good challenge too... #1970sHumour

  9. There is indeed. I believe Boris Johnson was a close runner up to get the job.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/hampshire/6521603.stm "Here we are, in one of the most depressed towns in Southern England, a place that is arguably too full of drugs, obesity, underachievement and Labour MPs."

  12. In a parallel universe we've qualified for semis on the basis that Rickie scored that open goal chance from 3 yards out. (Yes, I'm fully aware that hypotheticals are frowned upon on here.... Unless it's hypothesising about what would have happening if MP had played a 'full strength' starting 11 of course)
  13. Perturbed works for me.
  14. How about "Mildly disgruntled"?
  15. Apologies. Swap "distraught" for "angry".
  16. How about this for a novel idea.... those that are distraught about us "throwing away" our cup chances this season stay distraught and those who are more ambivalent about us going out of the cup stay ambivalent. Just a thought.
  17. Can someone describe how this thread would have turned out differently if it HAD been started by a Pompey fan on a wind up? Just curious. (Hypothetically of course)
  18. Only if you read through the thread first to count how many times this picture has already been posted...
  19. You're surely not suggesting that GS and BS are one of those clever breed of trolls that manage to stay just below the banning radar are you? The ones that push things just far enough without accumulating enough infractions to get a ban? Can't see it myself... Whatever next? Accusing them of having a persecution complex?
  20. It's just "different opinions" though, innit...
  21. Are we turning the playing surface into an ice rink?
  22. Agree. Lambert's effort off the post was fairly sublime too - shame that didn't go in.
