You highlight why it's so much easier being a pessimist. When you're wrong you can say: "glad I was wrong" and when you're right you can say: "told you so". There's an element of satisfaction in either outcome when you're a pessimist. (That's not intended as a judgement or character assassination, just a general observation of human behaviour)
