  1. josh winterbottom ‏@pompeyjosh Today is 1 year since #Pompey played #scum at FP and to celebrate the famous result I'm watching it nice and loud on my tv
  2. Bugger....beaten to it....to many great minds thinking alike on here....
  3. If you do sprouts, serve them with pancetta lardons
  4. Must have been you that I saw...!
  5. Jason Dodd on co-commentary....highly amusing Would recommend people watch this....Saints U21 played some delightful stuff
  6. Carving the meat.... I once saw someone cut each breast of the bone whole before cutting it into relatively thick pieces. This meant that everyone got as much moist meat as possible. The more traditional thin slices cut directly off the bird are likely to mean a combination of drier and moister slices.
  7. Yep, defo turn it upside down for second half of cooking (it means you won't get crispy skin but preferable to have moist meat IMO)
  8. @officialsaints: You can watch highlights from last night's convincing #BU21PL win over @NUFCOfficial on Saints Player now: http://t.co/k2O2H9Bd #saintsfc
  9. Yes, of course I expect a company to adhere to those basic principles of good business practice. I also expect those commissioning such companies to have watertight systems for detecting and swiftly dealing with rogue companies. As long as they are providing the best value for money for tax payers and best levels of service to the patient then I have no problem whatsoever with a company making a profit out of running an efficient operation. A well regulated private-public sector hybrid is much better than a bloated public sector where people seem to be under the misapprehension that more money = better services. The bottom line for me is getting the best possible service for the least amount of money. Maybe that's a utopia that doesn't exist but I'd venture there's some middle ground somewhere that, one day, a government will actually be able to put the theory into practice properly. Neither Labour (who instigated this) or the Tories (who obviously want to expand it) have been competent in making sure it works (yet).
  10. Looks like another example of poor regulation to me. If these private companies were properly held to account by the government then said companies wouldn't be able to get into the position alleged by this article in the first place. The Labour initiated initiative of outsourcing various components of the NHS to private companies is fine in principle but it needs to be matched with a stringent regulation process that doesn't allow companies to supposedly massage the audit figures.
  11. @NabilHassan79: Potential #pompey chairman Iain McInnes says the property developer working with the Trust is still involved: http://t.co/lb5vZx3s
  12. Yes, I am bothered. Which is why I always give due consideration to such things.
  13. Keeps the opposition guessing whether true or not. All good
  14. Seems like a different outcome in the offing for Arsenal v West Ham.... James Olley ‏@JamesOlley Expecting #afc's Boxing Day match against West Ham to be cancelled because of Tube strike. Likely to be re-arranged for end of January.
  15. True, but the mother I linked to on the radio show was making a connection between people using the word "for a laugh" and those that then go on to use it to be directly spiteful to people with a disability. Now, we can sit here all day long arguing whether your average playground bully feels empowered to use such words to be spiteful because he's heard someone use them in jest (i.e. in another context) but we'll probably never reach a conclusion on that as none of us are psychologists. I certainly remember when I was at school people using words they had heard on TV in a spiteful bullying fashion on the playground the next day (e.g. "Joey", "spastic", etc), so it does happen (people taking what might be acceptable in one context as a green flag to use it in a less acceptable context) She may have a valid point, she may not. Given how distressed a mother of a child with a disability got over the issue I'm happy to give her the benefit of any doubt.
  16. My only concern is that he will gain easy access to the Saintsweb Forum. I'm not sure his young mind is ready to absorb such levels of wisdom and intellect quite yet.
  17. Damn... @GraemeBailey: Carles Puyol, Xavi and Lionel Messi all sign new four-year deals at Barcelona.

    Moon landings

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-20765318 Two Nasa satellites monitoring the Moon have been deliberately crashed onto the surface. The spacecraft - named Ebb and Flow - had spent a year orbiting the moon, measuring its gravity field to learn more about the interior. Running low on fuel, Nasa engineers decided to crash the spacecraft into a mountain. James Kelly reports.
  19. Possibly. Maybe have a chat with the lady who broke down at the end of that interview and take it from there.

  21. Why a company would want to pour more money into the Fatpipe drains at this moment in time is beyond me... http://m.portsmouth.co.uk/news/business/local-business/firm-extends-sponsorship-to-help-club-1-4596317
