  1. Thinking about taking Trousers Jnr to this one. Just looking at the walking distance between Stoke station and the Britannia stadium - looks like a 2 mile hike alongside a canal. So a c.30 - 40 min walk...?
  2. Ramirez no longer able to attend signing session this week....that's gotta be worth a conspiracy or two, surely....? http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/substitution-in-store-signing-523311.aspx This Thursday’s player signing session sees Adam Lallana join Jack Cork in the stadium megastore. The star duo will be in store from 3.30pm on Thursday (6th December) to sign merchandise and pose for photos with Saints fans, as the build-up to the festive season gets into full swing at St Mary’s. Lallana comes in for Gaston Ramirez who is now unable to attend the session
  3. Mark Littlewood ‏@MarkJLittlewood I'm off to Starbucks in Kew to talk to @SkyNews about tax avoidance Trousers ‏@Lord_Trousers @MarkJLittlewood Wouldn't Fratton Park have been a more apt choice of venue...? Mark Littlewood ‏@MarkJLittlewood @Lord_Trousers not really. I'm talking about companies tha might actually pay some tax in future....:-)
  4. If football supporters down the years were as intelligent as rugby or cricket crowds then we'd be able to enjoy a beer at our seats and thus the half-time 'problem' would cease to exist.

  7. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/cash-pledges-to-help-trust-buy-pompey-flood-in-1-4547551#.ULxhAcXbKqI.twitter How many more times do we have to explain this FFS? The reason 'we' didn't go for a fan takeover was two-fold... (a) given how investable we were there was a strong likelihood that a scrupulous investor would be interested in buying the club (ok, they cut it fine but that's by-the-by - it happened, full-stop) ....or.... (b) we were clever enough to realise that it was preferable for the club to go bust and started again as a phoenix club than for fans to try and keep the old club alive and stumble from one crisis to another ad-infinitum. That's the difference....Pompey fans cling onto this blinkered mantra that saving the existing club, purely to maintain a position in a league structure it doesn't deserve to be in, is somehow more noble than starting a new club from scratch post-liquidation in the non-league structure. This "you didn't even try and save your club" clutching at straws tripe is starting to get on my tits now.
  8. I know....it's almost as if a fan from another club started it just for a chortle in the first place...
  9. Lincoln or Mansfield vs Liverpool = TV game

  16. It's not just Pompey who attract allegedly dubious owners then... Some familiar rings to this story... http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/sport/article-2241633/Leeds-Tory-party-activist-disappearing-website-52m-takeover-Nick-Harris.html

  19. @pn_neil_allen: Popped into Fratton Park earlier and decent turn out for the @pompeytrust event while I was there. Awfs on good form in Q&A too. #Pompey Still being vague with numbers I see...."decent turn out" = not as much as I was hoping for so will go for a platitudinal measure rather than give an estimated figure
