Given we're only 3 weeks away from the start of the World Cup, I'm not sure what difference it would make between sacking Semmens 'now' and in a few weeks...?

I posted a similar train of thought on the B-Team thread yesterday. It does seem somewhat out-of-character for Ralph to suddenly ordain that a shed load of first team players should play in the B-Team. I get the counter-thought that it may just be a simple / innocent case of giving the fringe players some game time but that's not something that Ralph has historicaly used the B-Team for, so why now...? Whilst, admittedly, its conspiracy theory territory, I don't think we can necessarily rule out that there were 'other factors' that came into play with regards yesterday's B-Team line-up.

How can we be sure that's true when he's not been given enough game time to establish any consistency in the first place? #chicken #egg

I know some see the two 9-0s as unforgivable (and, to be fair, it's a valid point of view as any) but totally agree with your assessment above. I'd happily take a 9-0 defeat per season over the ultra-cautious approach we've adopted this season if that improves our overall success ratio.

I'm entering conspiracy territory here but I wonder if this B Team line up is a result of the owners/board pulling rank on Hassenuttl and getting some game time for the some of the 'rising stars' ahead of Ralph being shown the door? (More likely to be just a case of giving the fringe players some much needed match time but one is prone to ponder these things...)

Short answer: no. It still baffles me that one of our free-scoring youngsters can't even get a place on the bench when our senior strikers are so blunt. I know it's a big step up and all that but, as you say, could they be any worse than our first choice strikers right now...?

I still would though

He came second with 43% of the vote and I would imagine there was a fair number who voted for Truss who wouldn't have particularly minded if Sunak had won, ergo, not sure if "rejected" is necessarily the best verb to describe what the Tory membership did 7 weeks ago... # dodgy analogy klaxon # I voted for Lynaco in the MotM poll yesterday but was happy enough with Sky giving it to Moi...
