  1. I've just watched it back again and my view is that JWP deliberately hit the ball in low.... yes, it was a bit scuffed but I think the ball pretty much ended up where he intended it. IMO of course.
  2. To be fair, it's not his daftest idea...
  3. We've received an allocation of 2,737 tickets Sounds a tad low for a cup game? https://southamptonfc.com/matches/2017-18/fa-cup/west-brom-v-saints-2018-02-17/ticket-info
  4. ------------------------ McCarthy ----------------------- -------- Stephens ----- Yoshida ----- Hoedt ----------- Cedric ----------------------------------------- Bertrand ------------------ Lemina ----- Hojbjerg ---------------- ------- Tadic ------------------------------ Boufal ------- ------------------------- Carrillo ------------------------- subs: Forster, Pied, Romeu, JWP, Sims, Gabbi, Long
  5. I thought he had a decent 45 minutes. Didn't strike me as a £20m player though (on first impressions - too early to judge really). That said, what does anything under £20m buy you these days? (cue a list of decent players under £20m.... )
  6. Is that a rating for our transfer window or for Glasgow's attempts to mask his baiting?
  7. Welcome back to the forum Deppo....
  8. Yep, it definitely felt we were in a lower gear last night, compared to the Spurs game
  9. Just back from the game. I was encouraged by improved performances over the last few games but tonight felt like a step backwards. A very average performance against a very average side. Very difficult to see where we're going to get the 4 or 5 wins we'll need to stay up I'm afraid. Not sure how Davis managed to stay on the pitch for the whole game - he was very poor today. Boufal was equally frustrating - very poor with his choice of final ball tonight and seemed to be disinterested off the ball. Bertrand also back to his "can't be arsed" persona and Hojbjerg seemed to have taken a step backwards too after his recent renaissance. Oh....and Carrillo doesn't look anywhere near a £20m player IMO (but early days on that one...) We know we're in trouble when someone as pragmatic and glass half full as me starts getting concerned about things! All that said... IF we get 3 points at WBA then 4 points out of the two games will be a decent outcome. Key word = IF P.s. we're crying out for a Promes / Walcott type player....
  10. Greetings from St Mary's. We'll, that was a bit drab. Permission to join the doom and gloom bandwagon please. On that performance we're championship bound. Good job it's only a game...
  11. Time for me to join the "glad I was proven wrong in hindsight" and/or "told you so" brigade... What a negative starting 11...!
  12. # Clutching at straws analysis klaxon # Maybe, just maybe, this transfer falling through will galvanise our existing players to up their game to prove that we have a decent squad after all and don't need the likes of Promes to keep us up. Maybe...
  13. Let's do this! COYR!!

  17. If only this was happening in the days where everyone had a camera on their phone which enabled them to take quick snapshots for posting on internet football forums...
  18. What if we break the bank but still end up being relegated?
  19. Maybe we don't have a spare £35m sitting in the bank and we'd have to break our 'living within our means' operating model to make this deal happen?
  20. What would be the point of protesting before we know what the impact of a quiet window will be on our ability to avoid relegation? We won't know the impact of this window on our fortunes for several weeks. I'd rather protest if/when relegation becomes a certainly rather than make an arbitrary guess that a quiet window = certain relegation. I accept that not adding more quality to the team doesn't increase our chances of survival on paper, but fans creating a volatile and negative atmosphere at matches isn't exactly going to improve our chances, I would venture.
  21. Welcome to the only internet forum that doesn't have any trolls or wind up merchants. It's a veritable haven of pragmatism and non-reactionary thinking.
