Funnily enough, that's on the agenda in the Trousers household for tomorrow evening. It's a special pre-Christmas treat from Lady Trousers. Highly recommended for anyone who hasn't tried it.

That is of course what he wants, but fair enough.

How about watching us turn decent players into top class players for the couple of years they are with us? That's quite satisfying, isn't it?

Why keep biting then?

The day I'll get worried is when we have a team full of players that none of the 'big 6' want and the 'exodus' grinds to a halt. Our 'selling club' policy is a symbol of our success rather than a failure. IMHO of course.

Deserved more than 1 bite in an hour IMO

We're only 7 points adrift of where last season's team were in January, with 6 games to spare. Based on that, I would say last season's team and this season's are fairly evenly matched overall. (I may reassess that of course if we don't get 2 wins and a draw out of the next 6 games )

And if we'd won all the games we've drawn and lost this season we'd be top

A poor performance overall but the destiny of the match turned on Fraser's c o c k up. Who knows how the game would have gone had that not happened. Anyway, looking at the positives... - we're still only 3 points behind 6th place (OK, possibly 5 or 6 points if either Man Utd or Everton get a win at Goodison tomorrow) - we've played 14 league games and are only 7 points away from where we were after 20 games last season, so win 2 and draw 1 of the next 6 games and we'll be in the same position as last season at the turn of the year. - we often have a good game after a naff one, which bodes well for the Europa League game on Thursday - In the semi-final of the League Cup https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlBiLNN1NhQ

Is this the best depth of squad we've ever had?

And another... both goals headers from corners... Southampton FC @SouthamptonFC GOAL: #SaintsFCU23s 2-0 #NUFC U23s (@Marcus9Barnes 45) Barnes grabs his second of the game. #saintsfc I think the squad depth just got a little bit deeper -

Seager was a co-commentator for a Saints u23 game a couple of months ago and IIRC he said he was aiming to get back to full training again in December. Not heard anything since. Interested to hear if LeG has an update. On a similar topic, I think I read last week somewhere that Marcus Barnes was back in training. IIRC he had a great scoring record for the u18s and was promoted to the u23s when Seager got injured before then picking up an injury himself. Will be great to see if Puel gives either or both a sniff of first team action in the second half of the season. -

Arsenal 0-2 Saints - Reaction & Semi Final Draw

Tweaked it slightly -
Yep, lots of issues occurring at the same time which compounded the situation. The earlier emergency repair work on a broken rail on the mainline at Surbiton also meant that a lot of trains were 'in the wrong place' later in the evening. I ended up walking the 2.5 miles from the stadium to Kings Cross to avoid the crush at Highbury and Islington tube station. The Northern line was a breeze from there. Managed to get on the late running 22:39 from Waterloo which would appear to be the last train before chaos ensued! #firstworldproblems

Yep...happens on the 'quick reply' panel but it's ok if you 'go advanced'
