  1. If they stay in admin they won't get a points deduction. They get a points deduction if they exit admin without a CVA. It isn't comparable to Saints situation at all.
  2. People see he signed in August 2008 on a two year deal and wrongly I think thought this meant from August to August. It is standard in England for player contracts to run until 30th June. When they say its a two year deal they mean August 2008 to June 2010. I think he has signed a year extension for some reason I can't fathom.
  3. I don't think a Sports journalist from the News of the World is the best judge of the way a High Court insolvency appeal case is going.
  4. The Wimbledon judgement is interesting as the reason given by the judge for HMRC losing in that case doesn't apply to Pompey.
  5. Mr Benson Phillips has sent me (and I believe a few others) abusive PM's.
  6. 1) Why were Pompey paying significantly more in image rights than everyone else in the Premier League? 2) Are you suggesting the images of Pompey players are worth twice as much as Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea players? 3) Why does your theory of foreign TV money not apply to every other club and rank the clubs of the Premier League in order of their players worth? How come Pompey come out on top? 4) Did Pompey earn more from foreign TV deals than other Premier League clubs? Why was that? It is sham so Pompey could get players they couldn't otherwise afford.
  7. Quite damning...
  8. Implications of HMRC winning this appeal...
  9. Here is a new one...

  11. Well complain to Umbro then, not the club. btw Umbro do have other products to manufacture, not just Saints shirts so a new order from the club would go to the back of the queue.
  12. You never know how many you will sale until it goes on sale. How do you know they didn't place a new order as soon as it looked like initial stock would sell out? Do you honestly think they didn't look at how many previous shirts had sold to work out how many to order? It does seem very popular but as I said it would be a bigger mistake to have more stock than you are able to sell, than having less stock with the ability to order more. This is just another example of you wanting to make a negative thread for the sake of it. Why not be positive for once Alpine and start a thread saying "Wow, the club picked its new style kit so well for the 125th Year it has been so much of a hit with the fans it has sold out!"
  13. Would you also complain if the club spent large amounts of cash ordering too many shirts and not able to sell them all?
  14. The Football League had its annual meeting 6th to 8th June 2010 in Malta. SOMETHING CALLED HARD EVIDENCE - http://www.football-league.co.uk/latestnews/20100603/malta-partnership-announced_2245681_2063057 1) Why would they be having another two months later and just before the season starts? 2) Can you find any evidence of another meeting or that Football League chairman have regular meetings rather than just an annual meet up?
  15. Again, I'd like to know your evidence for this...
  16. Where is your evidence for this? The thread should be closed unless you provide something credible to support the opening post.
  17. They are right it was. When I first saw it on the Saints OS it said £125k potentially rising to £250k. Minutes later it was edited to just say it was "£125k and close to Saints valuation".
  18. Alpine do you not realise that every team in every season has pre season games for the 1st team, reserve teams, youth teams and combinations of the three? No team in England has pre-seasons where the 1st XI plays in every friendly. Tonight's game against Eastleigh is an under 21 development squad friendly. Should these players not have any games in pre season?

  21. You have misunderstood the new rule... If anything the rule makes clubs want to keep young players at the club rather than loan them. Premier League clubs need to reduce the number of players over the age of 21. They can play and use as many under the age of 21 as they like on top of the 25 squad. What Prem CLubs will be doing is selling players over 21 years old that aren't in their top 25 players.
  22. This article has been edited. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2108597,00.html Earlier it said £125k rising to £250k. Now it just says £125k.
  23. Letting them know what exactly? They don't want to have it. What more do you want them to say as a reason for not having it?
  24. I'd love to know your logic behind that. 1) Obviously it is a reference to the sash you don't like. That is for 1 season. It is the 125th year, the club wore it 125 years ago. That is the heritage you crave rather than a lack of heritage. 2) As for the trophy. Why does the club continuingly have to have a game for Ted Bates. He has a good memorial for his great service in the form of the statue in a prominent position outside the stadium. Tacking his name to a friendly once a year does little. Just because a traditional has been started does NOT mean it is right for it to continue indefinitely.
  25. Isn't Herman Hreiðarsson out of contract and technically not a Pompey player until dispensation is given?
