  1. Pretty much sounds that way in the interview.
  2. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/peterborough_united/9373392.stm
  3. Sorry
  4. But they are adding extra, as Chaplow wasn't going to play for Saints after Jan 1st and Guly after Jan 23rd. So that makes them extra on top of what Saints were going to have at their disposal before their signing full time. I think we are just both attacking this point from different ends and should leave it there.
  5. They didn't deny it, Barry Fry confirmed that there had been a number of discussions, but no bids (as of yet).
  6. I wasn't saying it to state the obvious, I was saying it because I disagreed that Guly and Chaplow weren't new signings like Duncan said. This is a forum for discussion after all isn't it? They are new signings because until they were signed permanently, they weren't going to play for Saints for the rest of the season. Yes that is obvious, but some seem to think we haven't spent in the window or strengthened. Signing Guly and Chaplow are improvements to the squad because until they are adtional to what the squad would have been if they left at the end of their loans.
  7. Group hug time!
  8. How is it? Blackstock played for the academy teams. Schneiderlin joined when he was already 18.
  9. I already knew the episode existed, so I went to youtube and typed in "Sooty Show Football" and it is the first video that appears.
  10. I'm guessing the person that disabled the video didn't actually watch it to see that it was an episode in which Mark Chamberlain guest stars and does some acting. Unless it is just not possible to embed that video.
  11. I hope you both actually watched the video, rather than thinking I was being racist.
  12. I don't to be honest, when used in reference with the first two posts in this thread.
  13. Well they are, because if Guly and Chaplow had not signed then we wouldn't have them from January to May of the League One season. Had Lallana not signed an extention he may have been sold in order to get a larger fee than letting him go at the end of his contract in the summer.
  14. He should stick to acting... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETXrtqWY_A0
  15. Real Sociedad used a similar policy to Athletic Bilbao until 1989.
  16. He is 30. He came through the youth system over 10 years ago.
  17. There was a takeover relatively recently.
  18. There hasn't been a World Cup held during the 18th year of Alex's life. Nor is Sven still picking who is on the plane.
  19. But the club has money even if it doesn't sell Chamberlain.
  20. Sacking Nicholl and hiring Branfoot is a key contributing factor for Saints struggling for a large part of the last 20 years. Marked the end of managerial stability with the club only having three managers between 1955 and 1991 and 19 managers in 19 years since 1991.
  21. Did you miss the 10 page thread about Charlie Austin a few threads down? http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?27307-Saints-close-in-on-Austin
  22. The complete opposite to that is going to happen very soon with this proposal... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/competitions/premier-league/8276220/Premier-League-plot-a-youth-revolution-in-English-football.html They want to make it easier for the best players to goto the best academies.
  23. Yes, it is Lambert.
  24. Have you not seen how ITV cover football compared to the BBC and Sky? It is terrible!
  25. Nope, this guy is signing in Clive Woodward position at Saints...
