  1. Why were all those Preston players acredited to me? All I did was list all the players Preston were releasing. I didn't say they could all do a job for Saints. Some of them are crap!
  2. Needs to be emailed to the club, for use in the future. Would be too late now for 2010/11.
  3. It is quite depressing seeing the badge above as the tweaks it has made to the original make it so much better. Yet there is no chance the club will adopt it.
  4. Why does it matter if he does? They would be fully aware that he may do that when they replied to him.
  5. That looks awesome. The club really needs to see this. Although it will be far too late now as shirts/merchandise will have been ordered/produced.
  6. If you were going out with someone for a year, on your first date you goto restaurant A and then every week for the last year you went to restaurant B. Can you not see that celebrating your year anniversary together at restaurant A is a romantic notion? Then you can go back to restaurant B afterwards, as you clearly prefer it.
  7. Indeed. Schneiderlin is the only non French based player in the French under 21 squad for a tournament this summer. He is a class act.
  8. They are paying £2m (£1.6 million after expenses) for 40%, so to say that is the highest value for a League One team ever is a nonsense. Saints cost a lot more. The are also charging £420,000 per year in management fees. http://www.swfc.co.uk/page/News/0,,10304~2052224,00.html Not quite a Liebherr takeover is it?

  10. Some people in this thread are confusing what a "retained list" is. It is NOT a list of all the players you want to keep like Lambert, Lallana, Seaborne, Hammond, Harding, Barnard, Fonte etc (all of these have more than a year left on their contracts) A retained list is a list of those that are out of contract this season that you offer a new contract. For example Otsemobor, Connolly, Thomas, Perry, James, Gillett etc are all either going on the retained list or to be released. Those that have contract running out and aren't given a new contract are released on free transfers and thus not on the retained list.
  11. It will because the Echo has lost its close ties to the club. In the world of mass media and the internet the club no longer needs the local paper to get its message out. The lack of a good relationship affects the Echo's coverage. I would imagine a high % of the Echo's circulation has a direct link to its readership being interested in Saints news. If the Saints stories dry up circulation will fall.
  12. What of this is not true? Le Tissier shouldn't have responded to the question in the way he did. He was commenting on Pardew leaving when he had no idea what was going on. Just wild unsubstantiated press speculation and that should have been his response. Instead he added to the media circus surrounding this story. Dune, why is it okay for Le Tissier to comment on pure rumour and increase the media hysteria, but Cortese not aloud to respond to his comments?
  13. That article is 3 days old and some of the quotes used in it are 5 days old.
  14. Why that and not something from 1885 to 1974? Why only one based on the 1974 badge?
  15. Can you really not stop yourself for 2 hours?
  16. I have a feeling automatic turnstiles may be used at St Mary's at some point soon.
  17. Pardew and Cortese actually met yesterday. The media, particularly the Echo is so clueless.
  18. Panic over http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2051138,00.html Pardew and Cortese actually met yesterday.

  20. And both Pardew and Cortese have stated it would have to be huge money for Saints to sell any of the stars. - Teams with money problems sell cheaply to resolve money problems. - Teams with wealthy backers can afford to turn away derogatory bids. Yes, if a player wants to leave they will leave, but I don't see Saints letting anyone go on the cheap whilst Liebherr provides financial security. Thus there aren't many clubs that would both want and afford the likes of Lambert, Schneiderlin, Fonte and Lallana. A lot of Championship sides are in huge problems. Premiership clubs would be taking a gamble on them and unlikely to be able to offer them regular football in a winning side. Even if Pardew does go. Which I don't want and don't think will happen, I see little reason why that would mean the main players in his squad would depart as well. Any incoming manager and COrtese would be looking to keep them and would have the financial backing and ambition to do so.
  21. What about the first sentance? Admittedly the rest of the article does contradict this opening line, but they are older quotes from a few days ago so maybe the deal has been done. But then...Sky messed up the Ward deal and announced it as being complete.
  22. We would yes, but we shouldn't. Why it affects anyone other than the monarch's friends and family I don't know. Why goto someone's funeral or mourn them if you weren't friend or family? (Especially one born by sheer chance into a monarchy.) Let alone have a national day of mourning. What happened in terms of a nation mourning Diana was laughable.
  23. Tall and can head the ball. Job done.
  24. Look at the videos I posted earlier in the thread. You shouldn't trust Youtube player videos generally but he does look very good and most Brighton fans are devastated based on the huge thread about it on their main forum.
  25. That sums the media up very well. Nothing like some ignoring of the full picture to stir up some controversy/ratings/increase circulation.
