Nope, it is possible to win 1 or 2 games in the playoffs and go up. Play off semi is two legged and you could lose or draw one of the legs and win the other. Could even draw both games in the semi and win on penalties. Thus only winning the final.

You are a bit confused. The two aren't mutually exclusive! If Saints lose a League One playoff final then they can still win League One the next season.

Are Leicester looking like mid table team in the Championship after promotion from League One? 5th place after 33 games. Would Saints spend more than Leicester in the summer if promoted? Based on spending so far I'd say that is very likely If we used your logic of if Saints went up they'd have to consolidate in 2010/11 season in the Championship then I assume you mean go for promotion in 2011/12. If Saints go up next season instead then it delays the promotion push to the Championship for a year.

This is a no brainer. You ask which would you prefer, so of course everyone should say play offs this season. Please explain why you would rather Saints not be promoted this season?
