So who's travelling the furthest for the Pompey game?
Matthew Le God replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
Portsmouth are...from the brink of oblivion briefly during their 7 day reprieve and then back again. -
A nice touch for the cameras to see at kick off and show around the world... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1964143,00.html We could have fun and spell out some messages for full time if thousands of Saints fans link minds.

Anyone that expects a League One team to beat a Premiership team is deluding themselves. Yes, Saints have a chance but Pompey are favourities. Saints opponents being allowed to continue whilst insolvent isn't helping matters.
-
That won't happen. Premiership clubs won't agree to it and sets a dangerous precedent for the PL. Nor would it stop them going under. They can still be found to be insolvent next week and wound up even if they do pay the taxman. For example how will they pay wages from now until the summer?
-
I think a mass appeal to the FA is required if they beat us. I do expect Pompey to win. But giving them further advantage by letting them sign players whilst insolvent makes Southampton's chances even slimmer.
-
Pompey have been said to be currently trading whilst insolvent by a high court registrar and HMRC and probably have been illegally trading insolvent for months. The High Court registrar agreed with him. Signing players whilst insolvent is giving Pompey an advantage for the game. Sheff Utd won a payout due to West Ham acting in the wrong over Tevez. Saints should be reinstated if Vectis prove to the High Court they are insolvent and have been for months. Quincy and O'Hara both played and scored, significantly affecting the outcome. Let the FA know how you feel http://www.thefa.com/TheFA/WhoWeAre/ContactUs.aspx

Wotton is terrible. He has no pace and can't pass or control a ball. Yes, he works hard but as soon as he gets the ball Saints lose possession as he hoofs everything aimlessly. Saints need to go 442 against Pompey with Lambert and Papa Wagio upfront.

What is an "established skate"?
-
Will be this I think.
-
Why did you not ask what seat you were getting when you booked?
-
No, anyone of any age can go in the family enclosure even if they don't have kids with them. Just be warned, watching a football match in the Chapel stand with loads of kids would be my idea of a nightmare!
-
Venables did better than Sven tbh.
-
I worry for Lawrie's state of mind if he seriously thinks that is a viable proposition.
-
Now there is an oxymoron! Can you have a rational superstition?
-
Pompey get 40% of the total gate receipts after costs.
-
Read the opening sentence.
-
No, that isn't irony.
-
It doesn't matter. Saints have to pay Pompey so they can put on any financial report that they will get this money.
-
This will be controversial. To be honest I'm not even sure I want it but... Sven has left his job at Notts County as the new takeover isn't going to take them to the Premiership like he thought the previous one would. 1) Nicole Cortese wants a director of football/sporting director at some point. 2) Sven wanted a club he can build to the Premiership. His reported £40k wages at Notts County would obviously be a factor. But IF he came here on much lower wages he would raise the profile of Saints and may help attract better players. As long as he leaves the managing to Pardew it could work well "in theory". Worth Nicole Cortese phoning Sven?

Lots of empty seats in corporate for the MK Dons game. Also segregation roped off a large number of seats and there were plenty of empty seats in the actual away section. The home end (not including corporate) was a sell out for MK Dons. It will be different at the Pompey game... Home section SOLD OUT Away section SOLD OUT Corporate SOLD OUT So the only seats to take off the 32k capacity will be those used for segregation.

Coach and cars are unaffected.

It is an early afternoon kickoff on a Sunday under an hour and a half away from Southampton. Little need for most to stay in London overnight.
-
Likely they would promote 1st and 2nd. Then 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th would play the playoff semi and the two winners promoted. Thus Saints no closer.
-
You forgot the... FA Cup final in 1900 vs Bury FA Cup final in 1902 vs Sheff Utd (depends who played in away kit) Texaco Cup final in 1975 vs Newcastle Anglo-Italian League Cup final in 1976 vs Napoli All played in red and white stripes

Yes, he is.
