  1. Sell on clauses are pretty standard in the transfers of young players, so I'd guess so.
  2. Saints have completed the deal. So that suggests there was no work permit issue, or they wouldn't have completed the deal.
  3. €8m from Fulham and say €2m from the loan last season = €10m for a player we don't want and managed to get 46 games out of. Sure it is a loss on what Saints paid for him, but it isn't pocket change.
  4. How? If he didn't get a work permit Saints wouldn't have to complete the deal.
  5. There is a difference between the actions of a Swansea hotel and the actions of the football club. They aren't one and the same.
  6. If he wasn't able to get a work permit they could decide not to go ahead with the deal.
  7. Swansea City have completely ignored the 7-1 defeat. No mention of it on the club website, Twitter or Facebook! 😃
  8. A game vs Coventry City at St Mary's on Tuesday... https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/football-news/southampton-vs-coventry-city-friendly-18851966
  9. Regardless of those being in front of him, it wasn't solely down to them that in Forster's first season Saints had the 2nd best defensive record in the league (only champions Chelsea did better conceding one less). You don't only concede 33 goals in a Premier League season with a shit keeper, so Forster was clearly doing something right back then.
  10. He is Ghanaian, a former British colony where English is widely spoken and is the official language of the country. He is fluent in English...
  11. @OttawaSaint I wasn't correcting you. I pointed you in the direction of the announcement on the Saints website if you wanted to see all the new numbers and gave a link to the squad number thread if you wanted to talk about the squad numbers.
  12. Because those are their squad numbers as announced on Tuesday... https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2020-08-25/southampton-football-club-mens-first-team-squad-numbers-202021 https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/topic/58250-squad-numbers-202021/
  13. A game of four 30 minute quarters, with all the Saints goals in the 60 minutes the first choice XI played. FIRST & SECOND 30 minutes McCarthy; Walker-Peters, Stephens, Bednarek, Bertrand; Romeu, Ward-Prowse, Armstrong, Redmond; Adams, Ings Score 7-0 THIRD & FOURTH 30 minutes Forster; Valery, Vestergaard, Klarer, Vokins; Slattery (Jankewitz), Smallbone, Djenepo, Boufal; Long, Obafemi Score 7-1
  14. A groundsman at St Mary's says it the first of two 60 minute games finished 7-0 to Saints.
  15. Looking slim as they don't seem to want to acknowledge the Swansea game is happening. Hopefully they do something closer to kickoff and are trying to avoid idiots turning up to the stadium.
  16. Why is it automatically a bad thing? Sensible businesses make money. The squad isn't in a bad place. Shift some more of the mistakes and things will look extremely healthy.

  20. Or it wasn't true.
  21. I think you are pushing it to say it worked with Alderweireld. Great player but the loan deal wasn't structured well!

  23. Some players get attached to certain numbers. Also Armstrong at 17 would be in the likely starting XI instead of Long.
