  1. You said they wouldn't need another centre back "unless we finally get shot of Hoedt or Vestergaard". But if Hoedt is sold it doesn't open up a spot in the 1st team squad because he was already surplus to the squad. It would need Hoedt and Vestergaard to leave for a new centre back to be needed.
  2. Hoedt wasn't in the squad last season, so doesn't need replacing if sold.
  3. Bale and Walcott both had a season in the Championship. Oxlade-Chamberlain had a season in Legue One. It is only Shaw from your list who had no 1st team experience before playing in the Premier League.
  4. @tajjuk Newcastle's bigger ground doesn't make a huge difference in matchday income compared to Saints. Our ticket prices are higher so it is a relatively small gap in matchday income between the two despite them having a 20k bigger stadium. Plus match day income for all Premier League clubs is a relatively small proportion of total income.
  5. More expensive and weaker academy. Saints are more moneyball than them.
  6. Raising £440m doesn't mean £440m is solely on purchase price. Leftovers could be spent on other things. Plus all of the big 6 would cost more than £440m.
  7. Sorry to go all MLG on you, but McCarthy and Højbjerg 😉 aren't either.
  8. Some action at last! Boufal is training...

  10. Statement reads... "Saints fans, we had planned for today to announce the takeover of the club my Michael Dell. However those plans collapsed due to the remarks by hypochondriac on Saints Web."
  11. That doesn't even count as a rumour, that is a suggestion by a wanna-be journalist.
  12. No, as they haven't always played with a shirt sponsor in the past...
  13. What books did they both have on their bookshelves?

  15. Jannik: 'There is Spanish and English interest' Jannik Vestergaard has interest from both Spanish and English clubs, he tells Ekstra Bladet. Jannik Vestergaard was on the pitch in half of Southampton's Premier League matches last season, where he finished with full playing time in the last three matches. According to Ekstra Bladet, there are rumors about Valencia, and the Danish stopper also confirms that there is interest from both Spain and England. - I know that there is interest from clubs in Spain, just as there is from England, but I can not comment on specific clubs. - La Liga is of course an interesting league, but so is the Premier League, and I have enjoyed playing here in the last couple of seasons, says Jannik Vestergaard. Jannik Vestergaard still has two years left on his contract with Southampton.

  18. The way you have worded that suggests that the club have said it. But I'm guessing you mean some random Spurs fans on the internet?
  19. Possibly a friendly today if this is true...
