🤔 Which of their players do you think are capable of bullying Saints? It really isn't Bournemouth's style of play... but it is Hasenhuttl's.

Players you would sign from relegated teams....

Newcastle signed a player for double our record fee. Villa would want a huge amount for McGinn, likely beyond anything Saints would pay. -

Neither of them are realistic signing for Saints. Sarr cost Watford £30m+ and Doucouré would also be very expensive. Far better value buying from non English clubs. -
Even if today was a 1 goal loss for Watford, their remaining games are Man City and Arsenal so goal difference probably will go in Bournemouth's favour.

Did you put a bet on it?

I am intrigued to know how much you think Grealish and Ake would cost! -
Hence the interest from Spurs and Everton! 😉

The stats prove otherwise.

Does he? He doesn't really look particularly quick to me. I'd say Obafemi and Long are notably quicker, Ings also looks quicker. Adams hold up play is good, but at the moment he isn't offering much else.

Or... different players have different levels of fitness and different workloads.

Let's not re-write things just because he wants to leave. Statistically he is among the best central midfield ball winners in the Premier League this season and has covered a lot of ground. He also has a high number of forward passes into and in the final third. Yes some of his passing can let him down, but the sheer volume of passes he makes means some of them will go astray. Some people are quick to forget his good passes and focus only on those he messes up.

Where do you do your thinking if not your head? 🤔 😃

It does not say that. It says '£14m plus add-ons'. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53436848

Yoshida and Forster aren't currently on loan. One has left the club and the other is at Saints. Why have you decided Reed, Jones, O'Connor and Slattery are 'awful'? Lemina would be a very useful player in the unlikely event of Hasenhuttl getting him onboard.
-
Who? Zeefuik? Would be extremely difficult to get an English player at Walker-Peters level for as little as £5m.
-
I doubt it, the club would announce him signing as a coach. He doesn't have a history of coaching since his retirement 19 years ago, he moved into business and is a registered agent. They've got him as on loan from Liverpool and Liverpool wasn't even his last club before retiring. He a backup keeper to Paul Jones at Saints in the 1998/99 season.

As much as it would be hilarious for West Ham to go down... I would rather Saints had as much prize money as possible to improve themselves in the summer. Circa £2m per place means a big difference between 11th and 14th. Could get a 'new Stuart Armstrong' for that!

Playing Devil's advocate! Bournemouth vs Saints is a derby game - A derby game by definition is a game between two local teams - Bournemouth & Southampton are two local teams (due to the lack of other large settlements in the region) - It is not the main derby for Saints, that is obviously vs Portsmouth as we all know - It is a bigger deal for Bournemouth than Saints, but a lesser derby is still a derby

The Premier League website thinks we signed a 45 year old goalkeeper - on loan from Liverpool (who he left in 1996) https://www.premierleague.com/players/913/Michael-Stensgaard/overview He was at Saints in 1998/99 as the backup for Paul Jones.

Nathan Tella is injured. Will Ferry is likely to again be the academy attacking midfielder option for this game.
