  1. Ings is 22, Austin is 25. Both had their 1st proper season at Championship level in 2011/12, despite Ings being 3 years younger! When Ings is Austin's age he'll be a very good player. I'd be happy with either, but to dismiss Ings' talent is wrong to do.
  2. He is 22 years old and playing for the team bottom of the league. How many goals were you expecting him to score? Its clear he has a lot of talent and to describe him as an "average basic Championship player" is nonsense.
  3. Surely that would make things very simple... if no offers come it he wouldn't have any option but to stay. I suppose it then become a question of if he wants a pay rise from us or not that would come with signing a new contract.
  4. Sky have given it a lot clearly as the showed the game, but the BBC have completely ignored it on their website. It was a Premier League cup final with 12,356 at the game. Surely that is worth a mention? They give coverage to significantly smaller games than that.
  5. Where did I say that you said it was likely?
  6. I included your quote by mistake, meant to be just hypochondriac's.
  7. I think its extremely unlikely Koeman will drop a senior player like Elia (if he is fit) to make way for a youngster. We haven't loaned Elia and Djurcic to not even be on the bench when they are available and fit.
  8. Newcastle signed Nottingham Forest's keeper in last summer and loaned him back to them for the season. Mike Ashley might see it as good business in his eyes to sell Krul and use Darlow next season.
  9. Southampton FC ‏@SouthamptonFC 1h1 hour ago More than 9,500 fans have now secured seats for tonight's #U21PLCup final! Book online and Print@Home. #saintsfc
  10. There is no segregation for this game.
  11. Plus a 25 goal swing in goal difference.
  12. So he does it enough? Double negative = positive.
  13. Is he too small to play for Holland? Or in Europe for Feyenoord?
  14. Thats a very strange conclusion to jump to. We are 6th in the Premier League and have lots of competition for central midfield positions from international players. Harrison Reed is only 20 years old and Koeman has both given him experience of being on the bench and also some game-time this season. Why does that mean he "doesn't rate him"?
  15. Our Champions League dream is over, but at least we haven't lost at home in league games to Newport, Northampton, Accrington, Southend, Shrewsbury and Bury. Still on course for the biggest gap ever in league placings at the end of a season between Saints and Pompey.
  16. We aren't going to drop established internationals and play the youngsters for the next 5 games. We can still get 5th or 6th which would make a difference to both prize money, club reputation in football circles and the pre-season schdeule.
  17. Sounds like hyperbole. Define your use of "terrible".
  18. Do you judge strikers solely on goals scored? I don't.
  19. The odds being equal doesn't mean the bookie thinks they are equally likely. They reflect the amount of money put on each outcome and are set to maximise the bookmakers winnings from each market by enticing more bets.
  20. The order they used on twitter suggests its a wing back system... Southampton FC ‏@SouthamptonFC 3m3 minutes ago #SaintsFC team vs @StokeCity: K. Davis, Clyne, Fonte, Alderweireld, Yoshida, Bertrand, Schneiderlin, S. Davis, Tadić, Mané, Pellè. Thats one thing I'm very confident it won't be.
  21. Portsmouth could have a league South Coast derby next season with a team from a Southampton postcode... and it won't be Saints! We could be 3 leagues higher and having South Coast derbies with Bournemouth.
  22. Phil Brown is currently managing in League Two.
  23. He is currently being paid £120,000 per week.
