  1. Saints wouldn't start at the beginning of the qualifying.
  2. 1st round of the League Cup is only one game, it goes to extra time and then penalties if its a draw. For example this crazy game... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28652337
  3. If you take the question to its extreme; a League 1 or League 2 team could at least in theory (but ridiculously unlikely) be in all of the following... - FA Cup (with replays) - League Cup - Champions League or Europa League - World Club Championship - Community Shield - European Super Cup - JPT Plus have a 47th match of their league season to determine league placing. Followed by three more games in the play offs. So 50 league games plus absolutely loads of domestic, European and World cup games.
  4. Possible for it to be 39 if a playoff is required to determine league placings if everything else is level.
  5. Southampton FC ‏@SouthamptonFC 3 minutes ago BREAKING: #SaintsFC's trip to @MCFC on the final day of the season has now sold out! Thank you for your fantastic support.
  6. There was a lot of movement between the three of them but it wasn't Lambert's job to work with the fullbacks (Shaw/Clyne/Chambers) to defend on the wings, that was for Rodriguez and Lallana to do.
  7. Morgan Schneiderlin ‏@SchneiderlinMo4 21m21 minutes ago Sad about my injury .. I am not giving up on coming back before the end of the season ! Thanks to everyone for their support !
  8. Rodriguez scored 15 Premier League goals from 33 games last season, whilst largely playing on the left, Lambert in the centre and Lallana on the right.
  9. Way more than which figure?
  10. For those that complain about having too many injuries in FM, the average so far this season in the Premier League is 49, the highest is 68 and lowest is 43... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/11570472/Revealed-Manchester-United-have-suffered-more-injuries-than-any-other-Premier-League-side.html FM15 is actually averaging 37 per team per season, so you aren't getting enough injuries!
  11. At the age of 32 Hooiveld is playing for a team that has just been relegated to League One. There is a reason he isn't playing for the likes of Burnley or Leicester... he isn't good enough.
  12. If he is made available for sale then Champions League clubs will want him. Which will mean Spurs then won't get him. I said the club would want better. Last summer we sourced better players and improved, I have every confidence in them to do the same again. I doubt that involves getting a replacement that has struggled to make any kind of impression at a close competitor.
  13. If Schneiderlin leaves it'll be to a club in the Champions League, which rules Spurs out. Its looking likely both Saints and Spurs will be in the same European competition next season. I'd imagine the club would want a better player than Stambouli to replace him, so I really can't see this happening.
  14. I said he was a liability in the Premier League (he was clearly useful in the promotion season), you've just admitted he wasn't a Premier League player.
  15. We are using Gardos as a 4th choice centre back to play the occasional league game and some cup games, he is not a starter or even the first option if the first choice players are injured. Hooiveld is a Championship quality player and a complete liability in the Premier League, at the moment Gardos is a bottom half Premier League quality player. We made an upgrade in squad quality by signing him and loaning Hooiveld out to a relegated Championship team.
  16. Gardos is significantly above Hooiveld in ability. They are both significantly above Guly in technical ability. We'll have to agree to disagree on that. We have a better bench (and players not even making the bench) this season than last.
  17. When they were both fully fit Clyne started ahead of Chambers last season. Chambers generally was getting games when Clyne was injured or returning to fitness.
  18. - Bertrand has been more effective than Shaw - Forster is an improvement on Boruc - Alderweireld is an improvement on Lovren - Gardos is an improvement on Hooiveld as 4th choice centre back - Clyne was ahead of Chambers in pecking order last season and still would be if Chambers was still here - Long, Tadic, Elia, Djurcic and Mane all additions to attacking depth compared to just having Lallana - Ramirez and Osvaldo still Saints players (although will probably leave) - Pelle vs Lambert? Last summer was an exceptionally good transfer window, the first XI improved in quality and so did the squad depth. Hence why we are higher in the league and 1 point off 5th with 4 games left.
  19. Did you say the same last summer?
  20. I didn't list the names for three of the positions and I'm only guessing Clasie would replace Schneiderlin.
  21. Forster's cover New RB Fonte New CB Bertrand Wanyama Clasie Mane Ward-Prowse Rodriguez Pelle
  22. Its also how you can attract players... by being ambitious. It'll be extremely difficult of course to get in the Champions League, but we could still finish 5th this season (currently 1 point off it with 4 games left), to set a goal of one place higher in the next 5 years isn't unreasonable.
  23. Williamson joined Saints when he was 18 years old, its pushing it to say he was a Saints academy product.
  24. Filip Djuricic is back in training, so will probably be on the bench if fit against Sunderland. A lot of Saints fans have been very dismissive of him, but he does look a technically gifted player in the brief chances we've had to see him.
