Spurs 1 Saints 0 - Match and Reactions Thread
Matthew Le God replied to Batman's topic in The Saints
The 1st half wasn't great, but I find it hard to see how someone can describe the second half as "rubbish". -
That is a prerequisite for any keeper. As great as he's been for Saints, he is out of his depth starting Premier League games.
-
Saints have 3 keepers at every game home/away in case the starter or sub keeper are injured and a late change is needed.
-
Dani Osvaldo & Graziano Pellè can reminisce of good times on the English south coast whilst in the Italian team hotel together...

Southampton FC @SouthamptonFC He’s in! #SaintsFC striker @GPelle19 has been included in the @azzurri for the first time.
-
Saints play that formation when Pelle plays, Koeman switches between a 4-2-3-1 and a 4-3-3 during games.
-
Isn't Pelle the furthest to the left of all the players in this photo? https://twitter.com/RonaldKoeman/status/518392335487737856/photo/1

What about Tony Byrne? At Saints from 1964 to 1974 and won his first cap for the Republic of Ireland in 1969. -

Southampton FC @SouthamptonFC 5 minutes ago PRESS CONFERENCE: Watch @RonaldKoeman's pre-#THFC press conference live on YouTube from around 3.00pm BST.

Does he really need to have a lot of game time for Liverpool in order to play for England, when his role for Liverpool and England are similar? He is Rodgers and Hodgson's plan B in the 80th minute if they need a goal.
-
He had abdominal surgery and is recovering.

Who are the "traditional top 6" and why them?

United to sign Matt Radcliffe following Tottenham match
Matthew Le God replied to Saint86's topic in The Saints
Saints do exactly the same to smaller clubs than them, for example Southampton got Matt Radcliffe in the first place from Preston North End. Man Utd sign Radcliffe from Saints and Saints will probably sign a good physio from another club lower down the pecking order to replace Radcliffe. We are an attractive club for most football physios in the country, so I think we're likely to get a good replacement. -
FM12 to FM13 saw over 900 new features FM13 to FM14 saw over 1,000 new features 1,900+ things you can do on FM14 that you can't do on FM12 is quite a lot of change I think.

I think it would be disappointing to finish 9th or 10th, as that would mean teams that finished below Saints last season have overtaken us. Which team that finished below us last season looks capable of doing that? Swansea perhaps, but who else? Even with Swansea I think if they finished above us it would be dissapointing. 8th is the minimum Saints should be looking at and I think we have a reasonable chance of catching one or two of those teams above us last season.

Saints won the Southern League 6 times between 1897 and 1904, some of the players back then would have very high win %'s.

Free admission to our under 21 match tonight at St Mary's
Matthew Le God replied to Wes Tender's topic in The Saints
They are also streaming it... -
FM Documentary at Vue cinemas on 7th October (Eastleigh and Portsmouth closest ones for most Saints fans). It will also include a live Q & A session streamed to all cinemas and features revealed for FM15. http://www.sigames.com/news/14354/An+Alternative+Reality+The+FM+Documentary+coming+soon

Today saw data lock for FM15, so anything that happens at Saints from today onwards won't be included. Artur Boruc's loan to Bournemouth definitely won't be included, as emergency loans never are on FM.
-
FM13 to FM14 saw over 1,000 new features added. Try the FM15 free demo when it comes out and you'll see there are big differences from it to FM12 that you are currently playing.

Of the 7 teams that finished above us last season, I think we have a reasonable chance of finishing above Everton and Spurs.
