Thats why I said "if". If we did have Rojo, van Dijk, Fonte and Yoshida as centre backs then that is probably stronger than last season. We'd also have more depth in goal if Forster joins and Boruc stays.

If the plan is to bring both Rojo and van Dijk in, then Fonte may be 3rd choice centre back.

Yes, he can play left back as he showed at the World Cup, but Rojo plays as a centre back for Sporting Lisbon. Bertrand wouldn't come to us to play second fiddle, he wants game time. He would have gone elsewhere if he didn't think he'd regularly start for us.

You keep conveniently overlooking bits and twisting what Krueger said. Krueger even uses the phrase that the players wanted s "short cut to the Champions League" and has in recent interviews still be speaking of Europe being the aim for Saints. Adam Lallana wasn't going to play Champions League football with Saints in 2014/15, he gets that with Liverpool along with a large pay rise and a better chance of making the England starting line-up.
