Wilfred Zaha - Crystal Palace (linked in The Sun)

Clyne is out of contract, but as he is under 24 years old Crystal Palace have to be compensated. That can either be sorted out between the clubs or taken to a tribunal - like with Saints, Oscar Gobern and Huddersfield. -

I think that is doing him a disservice, in a loan spell at the end of the season he played an important part in getting Sheff Weds promoted. He also had some good games for us in 2009/10 as a 19/20 year old. -

I was just trying to help, not having a go at you.

No he isn't. Nixon is talking about a central midfielder... "Centre. Unlike any player u have. Big, strong boy." That really doesn't match Buttner.

His newspaper is already making jobcuts. If Portsmouth's only professional football club goes under, then cuts will be probably be made on the already large sports desk. He probably thinks it is in his interest to be Portsmouth's version of this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9aW1atFLMM

Which is what I said, so 20% is taken up by away fans and the non season ticket seats. That is over 6,500+ seats in a 32.6k stadium. Other factors like segregation, corporate and possibly wanting to allow more than the 10% to be non season tickets, will mean the limit Saints put on ST numbers is lowered.
-
That is what I was asking for clarification on. So the 25k your benchmark. It is possible the club may restrict itself from selling as many as 25k season tickets in a 32k stadium. Away fans (taking into consideration some blocks will be away fan blocks for cup games), segregation, corporate and allowing a reasonable number open for general sale (I believe the % for this is in the league rules) all eat into the 32k capacity.
-
I think it was you (or maybe Kraken or Sour Mash) that said 24k in the past. Moving the goalposts? Are you saying the Lowe era levels were 25k and that is what needs to be beaten, or beat the 25k mark? Wasn't it circa 22k under Lowe? Which is very close to what we have now, with 3 weeks left to sell more.

The Sunday People on 8th July reported Saints had made a £5m bid for right back Naughton. It now "seems" like Villas-Boas wants to look at Naughton in pre-season before deciding to let him come to Saints or not. Naughton had a good spell last season as a regular on loan at mid table Norwich City. 11th July in The Mirror... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/tottenham-close-in-on-joao-moutinho-to-leave-1138386

Good point.

This is an internet forum, you can never be 100% sure if someone is pulling your leg or really believes what they are saying. Of course not.

Which is why it is foolish to release players for being too small when aged 14. Other centre backs have been relatively short and been successful, plus Southgate also played in midfield and could have been moved to fullback. Is Messi "too short", was Maradona etc etc?
-
He is now 6 foot tall as a fully grown adult. Dismissing young players for being too small is a foolish thing to do, especially if they show talent in other areas.
-
I agree, hard to believe that is the real reason if it really has broken down. Adam Blackmore's Tweets where he gives details of an interview he held with Buttner's agent saying he thinks "the deal can still happen, 3rd party issues resolved and Southampton in control of deal" seem more credible.
-
Going to tell us?
-
Okay, here is a Saints related example. Saints got rid of Gareth Southgate when he was about 14 for being too small.
-
In the past they haven't used it much. One of the media team has said they intend to use it alot more this season. Yep, that is the main reason they will use it.
