Unlikely Saints would play that way if the opposition were playing with width. Adkins knew Blackpool would play their usual 433, which is very narrow.

Brighton vs Pompey The man leaning against the back of the dugout is Gus Poyet. Brighton have missed a number of penalties recently, including that one against Saints. So he couldn't bare to watch. Brighton scored this time...thankfully

Blackburn vs QPR 10k Bolton vs York 13k Bristol City vs Sheff Weds 11k Burnley vs Port Vale 9k Coventry vs Crystal Palace 8k Fulham vs Peterborough 15k Hull vs Wigan 10k Reading vs West Brom 13k Sheff Utd vs Aston Villa 16k Stoke vs Cardiff 18k Sunderland vs Notts County 17k and... Southampton XI (8 changes from last league game) vs Blackpool Reserves (9 changes from last league game) = 21,464 Only West Ham and Arsenal had higher so far in the FA Cup 3rd round. Which considering Saints have a League One team and we all knew Holloway was bringing the kids and reserves from Blackpool just shows the fanbase size of this club compared to others.

It was more 4-3-1-2 with Lallana and then Guly behind the front two and the three midfielders behind them quite narrow.
-
Something for Lallana's Spanish roots instead?
-
Still two and a half years left on Oxlade-Chamberlain's contract.
-
Lots of Lallana songs then tomorrow.
-
YES!!! Well done Adam, Nigel, Nicola etc. Best signing Saints could make this January.

Fetai: Southampton vil have mig (Fetai:Southampton wants me)
Matthew Le God replied to DANISH's topic in The Saints
Nope, there are transfer windows for free transfers. They are longer than the normal windows, but they still can't register to play during certain times of the year. 3rd Thursday in November until 1st of January for example. -

You will struggle to find any professional club that doesn't have a transfer policy that involves numerous people on a committee. Head scout, manager, coaching staff, chairman, director of football etc. -
He is also packing the subs bench with 2nd year youth team players.

A very good Exeter fansite. Would be good if either the club or someone independently did something similar for Saints. Has its own weekly show which I've watched to see them preview and review their game with us each time we have played them. http://www.kellowsbootlaces.co.uk/ Click on "watch latest show" to see reaction to the recent Saints vs Exeter game and their interview with Nigel Adkins. Or click on the DVD archive to view old shows like the ones before/after the boxing day game 2009 and in January 2010.

Daily Mail: "Lallana offered bumper 3 year deal"
Matthew Le God replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Have you seen where Leeds, Norwich and Millwall are in the Championship? There isn't much of a gap between the leagues. None of the promoted sides altered their sides that much, nor have the spending power of Saints, yet are all in the promotion race halfway through this season. -
Daggers vs Saints - Extended Highlights Now Available
Matthew Le God replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
I think you are confusing the Dagenham highlights with the Exeter highlights. -
Or even 3rd and failing in the play off final would probably leave them screwed.
-
Nick, do your stats include the MK Dons game? Harsh to include that I feel, even though he was technically in charge.

Which players will make in the championship
Matthew Le God replied to Guan 2.0's topic in The Saints
You only need to look at how Leeds, Norwich, Millwall, Jason Puncheon, Simon Gillett and Joseph Mills are doing in the Championship to see there isn't a large gap in quality between the leagues.
