When you've been noshed off by Silvio Berlusconi's daughter - where do you go from there?!

The kids - who will travel to Austria/make the 1st team squad?
Saint Mikey replied to mcbendy's topic in The Saints
That was Stephens' second consecutive season at Swindon. Whilst he did well, I'd be amazed if he can make a claim for the 1st team squad, never mind a start. -
On this basis, I hope we sell him this season.
-
You're assuming that he will sign a contract. If I was him and my stock was continuing to rise, there's no way I'd sign a new contract here. I'd be looking for a move for the 2016/17 season to a CL club and signing a new deal would just hamper that. This is just the world of football as we know it: zero romanticism, 100% business.

If this is the case, why does my employer have no b*llocks in this area at all? As an example, recently a One Year Fixed Term was employed who turned out to not be up to the task and failed to show up at work at all on occasions. My boss had enough and wanted to give the boot, but got the old 'it's not that simple from HR'. Clearly from that statement, it is. What are they so worried about, if that is the law?
-
Plus, I'm sure they had a red away kit in the past? Just like we've had a blue one on many occasions. This rivalry b*llocks in football has reached petty levels. I'm sure there would also be 'outrage' here if they painted the Civic clock tower blue and white and was sponsored by Nationwide.

Targett & Ward-Prowse named in England U21 Euro squad
Saint Mikey replied to S-Clarke's topic in The Saints
Surely Bamford was down to injury? He was nursing an ankle injury and even though he played in the PO Final, he obviously wasn't 100%. -
No. However, they def should have a had a pen and Hazard slipped when clean through after a poor pass in our own half. We certainly rode our luck in that game.
-
Also think it's a shame about Rowe. Saw him play a couple of times and looked very decent at that level. Wouldn't be surprised to see him forge a career at least at Lge 1 level...
-
The top players have always been top players and many could forge a career in today's game - with some lifestyle adjustments! What's happened now is that lower level of players are much better than before. You not only have to be in the best percentage in England to play in the top league, you have to be in the best percentage in the world. This is why our youngsters are struggling to get through.

Taking the Liverpool dislike-bias away, the best thing for Sterling is to play as many games as possible. Is that going to happen at City, Arsenal or Chelsea (no way in the world he's going to Utd)? He's a promising young England player and I'd hate to see him go the same way as Rodwell and countless others - just swallowed up by a Top 4 team and then have to rebuild his career. He's better off staying put IMO, but clearly won't.

Brett Ormerod to open a sandwich shop when he retires
Saint Mikey replied to Bad Wolf's topic in The Saints
True, but he's hardly going to be working behind the counter is he? -
Start frequenting any sparsely populated lakes? If you spot anyone with a drawstring bag, you're probably in luck. Could turn out to be puppies though, so guess it's a gamble...

Um. Think you need to look up the meaning of the word hypocrite. I thought this thread was going to refer to the recent Football Mavericks programme where he moans that England have never utilised their creative players - despite being the manager to continually overlook Le Tiss. Actually, reading the thread again. I'm not sure what the f**k you're on about...

Premier League footballer tests positive for cocaine
Saint Mikey replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
The Secret Footballer alluded to the fact that this sort of thing happened much more frequently than was reported. Often shielded by the media with bans going on 'behind closed doors' masked as an injury. The Premier League more than happy to comply in order to protect their brand. I think he made the statement that next time a player is missing for length of time with a suspicious injury, you'd have to ask the question... Based on this, I'm guessing Delgado was a skag addict of Trainspotting proportions. -
Or photographed in the training kit with your initials on it.

Just backs up that we're very unlikely to finish Top 4 anytime soon. £400m turnover v £100m. It's like a Prem v C'ship side. Ticket income £100m v £17m. Shirt sponsorship £45m v £1m. These are massive chasms that are never likely to be bridged and thanks to FFP can't be supplemented by outside investment. Also shows that fans need to get used to seeing players being sold. It's part of our strategy!

21/22. Got my Steve's mixed up with Howey & Watson. Good quiz!

My company is far from cutting edge and we installed something like this nearly 10 years ago. Can't believe that 'company x moving from paper-based to online' is a story.

I thought, that like Brazil, Argentinian clubs had benefited from a big TV deal in recent years? Ala the 'Premiership'.

Cuba is excellent. Make sure you spend some time in Havana, as it's so different from Veredero. Have to agree with Turks though, the Canadians are absolute cocks. Had a very similar experience at the hotel I stayed at. Anyway, as mentioned they might be the least of your troubles - as the place is soon to be flooded with yanks!
-
It really isn't. Klopp has competed at the top end of an elite league for a sustained period of time - winning it twice. He has also performed well in Europe. As much as Koeman has done a good job for us, he's not in the same league as Klopp - yet.

John Terry's PFA Team of the year - 4 Saints!
Saint Mikey replied to swannymere's topic in The Saints
It nice to see that the PFA is sticking to 4-4-fücking-2! How many teams actually play this now?!
