I think we signed him due to the various injuries. With Gardos out long-term, Bertrand out short-term, no-cover at RB with a new untried RB coming in and a youngster as cover at LB, it made sense to try and sign a utility player (just should have been a better one). We couldn't have been that convinced, as he only got a 2yr deal - didn't he? Which is strange for the PL at his age and goes against the general policy of improving the squad. He'll end up on loan to a Dutch club next season.

Whatever you do, buy separately off the net and get someone local to install. I've had a composite door installed this year, which I bought from the net and got someone local to put in. An update on this. I've just had an email offering me 50% off for a year, plus a £50 credit. In between I also filled out a questionnaire as to why I was leaving, intimating it was the price and I could be swayed back. Lesson here is hold your nerve!

It's difficult to judge people when you have no real idea of what it's like to be in their situation, i.e. women throwing themselves at you left/right and centre. I'm more surprised when footballers get married or have long-term GF's, especially when they're young. Not taking advantage IMO.

You can add Lescott, Arteta, Pienaar, Rodwell to the list of players that would have wanted to keep in recent times. In terms of the players they've kept recently. Baines isn't good enough for Top 4 (you can see that in his abject England performances) and is too old for the money they want, otherwise he would have gone. Barkley is too inconsistent for the money they want, as soon as he shows consistency - he'll be gone ala Stones.

I put a cancellation in to Sky, in the expectation they would offer me a deal and reduce my payment. However they called my bluff and just put me through the process! Of course I can reinstate before the end of the 30 days. Is anyone likely to phone me up and offer a reduced deal? We bought Fox to replace Harding in the 1st team, which he duly did and kept his place. Fox wasn't up to Premier League standard, but that seems to mean people forget how good he was in the C'ship.

He really wasn't. Harding was brilliant in Lge 1, but couldn't get in the team past Fox in our C'ship season. No need to re-write history... Kudos for flaming the Skates though!

You're assuming that he will sign a contract. If I was him and my stock was continuing to rise, there's no way I'd sign a new contract here. I'd be looking for a move for the 2016/17 season to a CL club and signing a new deal would just hamper that. This is just the world of football as we know it: zero romanticism, 100% business.

If this is the case, why does my employer have no b*llocks in this area at all? As an example, recently a One Year Fixed Term was employed who turned out to not be up to the task and failed to show up at work at all on occasions. My boss had enough and wanted to give the boot, but got the old 'it's not that simple from HR'. Clearly from that statement, it is. What are they so worried about, if that is the law?

No. However, they def should have a had a pen and Hazard slipped when clean through after a poor pass in our own half. We certainly rode our luck in that game.

Also think it's a shame about Rowe. Saw him play a couple of times and looked very decent at that level. Wouldn't be surprised to see him forge a career at least at Lge 1 level...

The top players have always been top players and many could forge a career in today's game - with some lifestyle adjustments! What's happened now is that lower level of players are much better than before. You not only have to be in the best percentage in England to play in the top league, you have to be in the best percentage in the world. This is why our youngsters are struggling to get through.

Taking the Liverpool dislike-bias away, the best thing for Sterling is to play as many games as possible. Is that going to happen at City, Arsenal or Chelsea (no way in the world he's going to Utd)? He's a promising young England player and I'd hate to see him go the same way as Rodwell and countless others - just swallowed up by a Top 4 team and then have to rebuild his career. He's better off staying put IMO, but clearly won't.
