  1. Ha I was just speaking to a mate about this very issue, Norwich at home then Coventry away both sound winnable so you know what Saints will probably go and do ... I hate to use an Adrian Chiles (lol at least I think thats his surname) from the beeb quote but "its the hope thats such a killer" when supporting saints, another win and we seem comfortable a loss on tuesday and we're back in the mire.
  2. You are so right Scoob 20th place after 8 games what a vindication of the system so far =] 2ndly seeing as we played or at least started with a 4-4-2 formation does that still count as our total football system? ;-)
  3. To be fair Euell was gash for more than "a month" he was garbage until Pearson arrived after which he started showing some quality in the middle. I'd much rather have him in the team than Gillett. Hopefully he can hurry up and get back from injury and into some fitness along with Skacel and Holmes. With those three in the team and playing 2 up front I'm sure we'd see a big improvement. Alas not much hope of that.
  4. Although I agree he hasnt set the world on fire this season he has looked the next best option to Holmes whilst we persist with not playing Skacel. I've seen nothing from any other player played on the wing this season to suggest there is anyone else deserving of a chance in the team. This has been compounded by the seemingly stupid move of loaning in an untried and hardly prolific striker in return ( 3 goals in 15 games for Northampton). The management are again showing a complete lack of long term thought. Seeing as JP has said we currently dont have enough wingers at least good ones, to play his system I should hope this finally leads to him having a go with a different system that our players will be happy with, 1 up front is just crappage! Any chance of a decent CB or CM in now? oh whilst we're at it a LB and RB would be nice too!
  5. Dear Jan, I would be happy if you left and suggest Nigell Pearson returned as manager post haste. I realise you have had a tough time since coming here but You're clearly not up to selecting an adequate team and seem pre-occupied with ****ish tactis and systems that you yourself tell us we don't have the players for. Where was the 2 strikers up front tonight? Why did it take 50 mins to realise McG needed support? Why take Skacel up to Rotherham (presumably seeing as he was in the squad) and then not even have him on the bench? In short Jan you seem like a nice bloke but you are making mistakes that I wouldn't make so on your bike =] thank you
  6. Yes I understand your concerns but lets break these changes down .... Cork to RB from CB - Wotton as we saw is a capable CB and who else do you suggest we play at right back? Another player with zero experience? Surman to CM - Surman is clearly not a left back and really should only be played there when we have no specialist about e.g. Mills Unfortunately we have NO proper wingers to replace Holmes and surely Cork is the 2nd choice right back seeing as he is our utility defender. Personally I'm very happy JP is looking at other formations clearly the one we are playing isnt suitable unless you have the 2 wingers actually attacking as wingers instead of ALWAYS cutting in ala Dyer, Thomson, BWP or MgD
  7. 1/6th of the season is only 7.6 games though ;-) Its pretty clear we will struggle and using pointless stats like your's will only perpetuate the problems IMO of course. We clearly need decent full backs and probably to revert to two players up front. Clearly AL is good enough to play anywhere across midfield so playing a system just to accomodate his "in the hole" role is daft.
  8. Whilst we are bringing back players from else where, heres a vote for sagga. I think he would really be useful in this set up and certainly worth having to play with John as they seemed to work well together last season. Just to be really controversial hows about we play 2 strikers up front rather than 2 crap ones on the wings and a big tall unit with no crosses coming into him up front? 4-4-2 anyone? Sounds to me that at the moment our total football only works box to box inside ours and theirs we seem to fall to bits :-(
  9. lol this is Saints though so expect an 89th minute winner from John Macken who's just come on now :-( Sounds like we are playing quite well but maybe trying too hard to walk it into the net!
  10. Have to say I agree. The atmosphere is crap aside from the northam but I'm really not keen on sitting behind the goals. I have now sat in block 4,5 and in something like 36,37 in the kingsland and its just not the same. The Brum cup game felt like a reserve match to me and there was diddly squat in block 5 for the blackpool game. Its so gutting to attend the game yet come away feeling your support has been muted. I could never understand why so many of our fans seem to like to sit quietly throughout a match. The lack of atmosphere certainly helped make my decision to stay home last night as well as money but I'm sure I will be back next saturday!
  11. Aw yeah I remember how he failed to mark Blackstock and their other fella ... o wait that was Lancashire :-p Davis is fast becoming a MUST keep player and is easily player of the season so far ... says all you need to know ey!
  12. Welcome to Saints play on sky ;-) I'd quite like to see the team as ... Davis James Perry Cork Surman Wotton Schnierdlin Dyer Holmes Lallana John Possibly Mcgoldrick in for Dyer. I also wouldn't mind seeing Skacel on the bench, I don't know what others think but I think Holmes seems to get found out 2nd half of games when the other team realise he's not bad and mebbe gets marked out of the game abit. Would be nice to give them a different problem with Skacel who despite many posters views providd a shed load of assists in the play off season. Aternatively at least try swapping Holmes and the right winger over a bit more to try and keep him in the game. Feel free to shoot me down :-D
  13. Becauase he has more experience? Because he's actually pretty damn good? Because we want to win today? Theres 3 to be going on with. I have to say Cork was the nuts against Brum and also deserves his chance. Just because he's a loanee doesnt mean we shouldn't play him else what would be the point paying his wages?
  14. So you're saying he isnt accomplished? ;-) Personally I think Cork should be in for Svensson none of the others are worth considering at the moment.
  15. Really? Had the ball alot did nothing with it. tackled every time he had the ball in a dangerous position because of his stupid need to step over everytime he attacked. Couldnt see anything about him Id want in our team :-)

  17. Perhaps the Thai bloke has seen what great potential there is here and will shortly be tabling a bid? =-o Isn't there a rule where by you can't own major shares in 2 clubs? I'm soooooo not ITK though if you know what I mean.
  18. Really? Looked like he had a mare to me, got lucky with the ball breaking to him twice when the pool keeper then fell "injured" other than that he was awful. I think his problem and others who have played that wide right position is that they dont push on enough, this leads to him being too close to the full back or CM to make the pass to him useful. Didn't do enough tracking back or going forward for me. That's not to say he wont be amazing next time hes put into the team but Saturday he was poor and theres no point dressing it up as otherwise.
  19. My prefered CB's would be Perry and Svensson if for nothing else but 100's of games of experience. Personally I would bench Surman and play Cork there as supposedly he can play all across the back 4. Surman then used as a sub for whoever tires of Gillet or MS. My Back 5 would then be; Davis James Svensson Perry Cork
  20. Nothing to do with the game being on sky then? ;-) Personally I think if you are using Rupert Lowe as a reason to not go to games ergo in turn finacially fook us over its a bit childish. Its like saying oh I don't like my boss I'll stop going to work or my wife is no longer the beautiful young woman I married 30 years ago! He's back, no one is willing to buy us so I'd suggest dealing with it or finding another club! Personally my only reason for not attending this season will be money. Yes we've sold a few big name players, yes we didnt get the best deal for Davies but we know maybe 1% about the transfer dealings lets face it no one on here is REALLY in the know ... yes I include Wilde in that!
  21. Has our goal now been credited to McGoldrick? Looks clear to me that Lallana's header was already over the line once before McG made sure.
  22. Just have to compare JP's comments with those of whinger Paul Jewell on a Derby website http://therams.co.uk/stories/jewell-in-stick-together-call-as-he-bids-to-shake-off-the-negative-vibe Complains about constant negativity about the club (could be said of some of our own im sure!) but does come across as a bit whingy and worried.
  23. ha we'll probably do our usual trick of a 10 minutes to midnight loan so some other team can have the benefit of his crossing skills =]
  24. To be fair he'll be back in this division next season but good luck to him you can see why any player would want to get out of SMS at the moment though :-(
  25. I do wonder what games some people watch! Davis was good on Saturday and has improved alot since last season. Still think we'll lose 2-1 though its my birthday ... we always lose on my birthday =[
