Could have been a decent player with us, clearly needs some half decent guidance, something our recent managers clearly haven't been very good at! Has pace and to be fair some of his finishes are superb execution wise, just look at the goal vs Charlton this season. Has something about him but fitness is a major issue in my mind, just look at how good he was 1st half vs burnley against how knackered he looked 2nd half where he had little effect. Think the video sums him up unfortunately, 6 mins of quality over what? 3 years! :-p I'd keep him on reduced wages else good luck at Plymouth.

Saints refuse to deny Strachan at club last night
Stu Man Do replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
No one else seems to have mentioned from the sun article that wotte was in talks to sign a player, any ideas who this might be? -
Also Oldknow back on SSN as chief operations executive good or bad news?
-
Two words ... Chris Makin! All well and good remembering how good he used to be for reading but injury prone last year, 35 and lacks pace.
-
What a legend! We know you've done your best Matt, thanks for at least getting involved and trying to save our club! Fullest respect as ever to yourself!

For a bloke who seemed more than happy to spend his "valuable" time on the forum telling us how close we were to a deal and how absolutely certain they were of a take over TL seems to be rather quite. Personally I'd like to hear from TL with the real reasons they thought they couldn't proceed with a deal. Tony the floors open to you.

I expect this has been spoken about somewhere else but I havent seen it, but, if there is some concern that we would need to take an extra points deduction next season why havent the likes of Stockport also needed to do this? Surely seeing as they were actually "without doubt" ;-) in admin they need this CVA to come out of it as it appears we do to.

How hes managed to get a trial is beyond me :-p Personally I can't say I have the remotest attachment to smith even though he did play quite a lot for us. Another Dyer, has the potential to be good just maybe doesnt have the footballing brain to use the skill that he does have. Aw well glad we didnt offer him terms, always did seem to be a stupid signing.
-
Could be true could be false but a bloke where I work has been at a course at St Marys all day and has just told me that the word there is that things will go through on Monday. Trust Saints to stretch things out!

Perhaps not breaking news but I've heard BWP really wants to stay and would take a pay cut whilst Surman and DMG both actively want to leave before the end of the pre season. Also heard that alot of the players want to keep Wotte on as boss. Whilst im not BWP's biggest fan I do think he'd do a good job for us if he could get properly fit, always seems to run out of puff after 50-60 mins.

Surely if has been reported on here the Nathan Dyer money was held by the league to pay our football debts Pinnacle will have had to pay the vast majority of the 500k for this months wages? IMO until something more solid than "a source inside the club" comes out with some info we have to take TL's message on here at face value. PINNACLE IN TRYING TO PAY LESS shocker would just about sum up that article.

£1m for DMG - Why do people think it's such a bad deal?
Stu Man Do replied to Arizona's topic in The Saints
I'll take issue with this point despite the fact id be happy to keep DMG for next season ... throughout the season DMG had the HIGHEST number of chances of ANY player in the championship I think had one stage he'd scored 8 goals from something like 90 shots. Granted some of the chances he missed were hard but others my proverbial granny could have scored! -
When you consider they want to buy Anderson from Liverpool for 1million who has less experience than Dyer yet arguably wasnt as good as Dyer has been for Swansea 700k is a minimum.
-
Sorry Nick this seems to sum up the idiocy of this whole thread ... Mark Fry won't lose any sleep if we go into liquidation. Being "on Frys side" what a silly petulant comment, I assume you mean on his side in that we all want him to sell the club!? Lets face it hes the only "side" we can be on!

Did the "Lowe Boycott" Damage the Chances..
Stu Man Do replied to Guided Missile's topic in The Saints
Ha! Seriously you are suggesting that fans boycotted in part due to the fact Lowe is upper class? Twaddle my good man ;-) lol Lets face it each time fans have been put off by the MANAGEMENT of the club or rather the poor management of the club. I don't seem to remember many fan boycotts over Rupes class when we were in the prem. If potential investors have been put off as you suggest they are scared to fail then are they really suitable business people in the first place?! -
I believe that was Darren Ambrose but I think Richards would be a good signing!
-
I'm not 100% certain but I believe the land is too close to the gas containers to EVER be turned into flats. I think the land usage could only be turned to industrial in which case it would probably be worth more than the current 8 million pound bid.

I'm sure he won manager of the season or young manager the first season he was with us, kept us up and relatively safe when we'd always struggled before and had a decent transfer record. Hardly crap. I would however agree towards the end we were on a bad downturn in form, who's to say he wouldnt have turned it around? Impossible to say but at the end of the day we ended up with a decent manager in Hoddle followed by several really "crap" managers in Wigley and Gray.
-
Aside from the fact your clearly looking for an argument both of the managers of these teams had long term spells in British teams where guess what ... a "British" style of football is played. I bet there isn't a person on this board who hasnt heard a commentator during the champions league describe the "italian" style as defensive or the "dutch" style (yeah right!!!!) as attacking. Personally I'd class the british style as fast paced high pressing football. Anyway back to the game ... as someone else said followed the pattern of many games, us doing well without any goal scorers the opposition working us out and then beating us in the 2nd half :-(
-
No thanks get rid start again (if we actually have a club!!) and see about stability from that point onwards. Even in a dead rubber "pride" game his subtitutions knackered the team and as someone said above hes hardly set the world alight with arguably players of better ability than the players we'll have here next year. See ya Mark, thanks for a whole lot of nothing.
-
Lol not if they play as they did this afternoon, a performance right out of the southampton fc book of defending "comfortable" leads!
-
QPR (last home game under Lowe) 18,691 Charlton (first game in admin) 27,228 Crystal Palace (H) 23,220 Burnley (H)23,972 Whatever way you want to look at it between 5-9000 people came back to games once Lowe was gone, although obviously some of them were more in a want to help the club out sorta way.
-
Really? That team would get mullered in League 1. We've done with the youth experiment lets hope we can move on from it! Controversial perhaps but after his last couple of performances BWP should be offered an extra year on somewhat reduced wages if he could be convinced to stay. He has pace and IMO played a blinder on saturday just needs to work on his fitness and finishing!
-
Was it just me or did the barsteward look a little TOO happy he'd managed to get us with his 10 pt deduction when he was speaking on SSN earlier?
-
Didn't happen when we capitulated at Hull or Sheff Weds last year so I wouldn't hold your breath :-p Some sort of donation from the players to the SOS appeal would be better IMO as well.
