  1. Gutted for the bloke, been solid all throughout the competition and deserved his wembley day, if you include penalty shoot outs I believe he had scored in every round bar the area final.
  2. great commentary Oh Lamberts scored ... what a ledge! First hat trick of his saints career 30 goals for the season what a player!
  3. penalty 2-0 saints lambo you little beauty!
  4. What got me last night was that Swindon had nullified us in exactly the same way they did back in August. Excellent defensive tactics 2nd half to get play stuck in the middle of the park and then break quickly to the wide players who would suddenly pull away when they had possession and leave our lot still wondering where the ball was! Also as said elsewhere Connolly looked excellent when he came on, a bit more nous than Barnard but Waigo ... who had been told to get out wide constantly got into the middle with no effect and ended up running the same channels as DC. Puncheon seemed to move into the middle after the last two subs and sort of nullified himself! not his best game. Overall we got caught by a sucker punch and just faded away badly. Shame but not the end of the world.
  5. Just in from work now to find mine sat at home :-) happy days!
  6. Be a bit daft to take on a club about to be relegated and with huge debts. Unlikely to be as upwardly mobile as us if they go down IMO. But then again it's on 606 so must be true ;-)
  7. Only one problem with the loan idea ... someone has to actually want to take them on. he like of Pulis, Moleneux et al won't get games at championship level and other League 1 and 2 teams probably won't want them on their books.

  9. He'd have been better off putting his 20 quid towards his own club surely? ;-)
  10. Seriously I am dreaming right? This can't be our saints surely!? Amazing! Man I love this season!
  11. Yep ... blonde moment :-(
  12. I got the dial tone on the 01271 number .... no fooker picked up maybe they've cottoned on ... back to the "all operators are busy" chap for me :-(
  13. I think ... if you heard the same one as me it went ... Lee Barnard Barnard He scores goals from 30 yrds Hes short but hes f-in hard Lee barnard barnard
  14. yesssss 5-1 Lallana guess that answers Alps ;-)
  15. Similar story to mine, I brought tickets for the home leg but wasnt told to register them against my name on the database. Went to the stadium yesterday and was told to quote the sale number (its on your ticket front near the bottom right in black text ... helpful!!!) when you phone in to buy on monday.
  16. I wonder if the coaching staff have thought about this revolutionary change? Thats exceptional Glasgow! Pardews team talk on sat; "Right lads I've decided how we sort our season out ... you'll like this idea I nicked it off the SWF ...We should ... wait for it ... win more games!!" ;-)
  17. As far as I understand it LS The EPL and FA are duty bound to ensure that debts to other clubs are settled first its up to the courts and tax man to get their money back.
  18. In responce to the question ... asset looked alot less likely to score once he had gone off. His pace alone creates opportunities and pressure that a Barnard wouldn't make. Not the finished article but certainly good enough for us at the moment. I look at the fact he is offside far less now than 3 months ago and all you can ask of young players are that they show improvements whilst doing a job which he clearly does.
  19. -8 GOAL DIFFERENCE and -10 points are two vastly different situations. Realistically the playoffs this season whilst rebuilding the entire first team and in fact the club itself where never really on the cards. Some good form got us close at one point but based on our recent history this is still an extremely good season.
  20. Late goals are a ***** but thats part of football, unfortunate as that is what exactly do you expect Pardew to do about that? I'm pretty certain a generic fitness or improve concentration won't cover this.
  21. I'm pretty sure the layoff for the first goal was from Waigo who held the ball just long enough to turn it round the corner to Lambert who never looked like missing.
  22. Chill out Alps old son, if you can't take some happiness from our biggest rivals getting a spanking at OT whilst we're having an off day then when can you? We're having another off day from the sounds of things, it happens, probably more deluded to think we had to win todays game to stay in the playoff hunt, that went a few games ago realistically. Just be happy we have a huge cup game next weekend and a chance of a wembley final on tuesday night what were you expecting this year? Championships and 100% records? =]
  23. Agreed, Jaidi to my mind offers more than Seabourne who should really just be learning his stuff from him and Perry this season. Id prefer to see Harding at left back as I just think he offers a bit more experience going forward. Did Mills and Holmes link up anywhere near as much as Harding does? and before anyone asks no I dont think Mills is "crap" :-D Otsemebor as well IMO just isn't anything different to LJ. He has a bit of pace but from what Ive seen so far is rarely used and for a full back he is to happy to shadow an attacker rather than getting stuck in or even attempting to put a foot in the way, needs to man up abit! Barnard as others have said seems very similar to Lambert and so Im not sure he's they are the best two to partner up front. Lambert has looked best this season when he has been up front with a "clever" player like Lallana or a little quick like Waigo or Connolly. Probably down to the pace of these two which moves the center backs about and lets Lambert find that space that he can be so deadly in. In short the game yesterday can be summed up easily ... COLD!
  24. Wouldn't that put him off? ;-)
