He's been a complete failure in every management job hes had ... he'd fit right in here then =]
-
See as much as I dont like the board I cant agree with that comment. You dont want the team to win because then the board would keep their jobs? So you're suggesting if we we winning every week and top of the league you'd still have an axe to grind with Rupert Lowe being in charge? Lets face facts the board is an issue ONLY because the team is so awful. Yes yes created by the board but were talking your hypothetical saints to win win win scenario! As for the bigger question ... after Tuesday and sats results were doomed.

Lol @ Bobby convey being a potential signing for us ... read the article what is it? 9 appearances in 2 premier league seasons, not injury prone or anything then?! As someone else has said get in a decent RB at the bare minimum. Decent passing bone crunching midfielder oh and a striker who is better than 1 goal in 10 attempts?
-
Indeed ****es me off how teams like Norwich and Plymouth have very few if any players significantly better than what we have yet they always seem to push on if they find themselves in strife and no doubt end up x pts ahead of us come the end of the season! Results today have really not helped us out so I guess now we'll either see us pick it up and really work to stay in the division or as I suspect a lack of passion leading to our relegation ... sad times :-( As for formations Id like to see Skacel tried up front even if for 20 mins or so, perhaps just behind Saganowski, after all its the position he excelled in for Hearts and pretty much why we signed him. Does anyone remember him ever being tried in the "in the hole" position? As much as I want Lallana to work out I think he just needs to be pulled out for his own good before we ruin him!
-
Really? I think it does depend on where you sit obviously but closing blocks 1-3 has killed that area to some extent and on tues i sat in the kingsland granny day care center and was told to "be quiet" after telling the lino what i thought of one of his decisions. If you like to get involved in a sing song e.g. atmosphere it seems back of block 4 the northam and some kingsland northam corner are your only options.
-
Just sounds to me like a comment without a point, the board knows the fans arent exactly keen on them and no matter how much pro board crap the manager spouts wont change that. Change the record Mark and focus on getting the team to play please.

No chance here is the sequence of play for most of the 2nd half ... Ball comes from kelvin to james who passes into center mid to wotton who takes a look up spots a pass and ....... waits, gets closed down, passes to CB who passes to LJ who runs 25 yrds upfield and crosses from deep ... CB heads out and away to wotton who looks up spots a pass waits gets closed down and passes back to the CB. The one time LJ got to near the byline we scored. We seemed far too 1 dimensional to me and soon as ward got the ball was obvious he'd score!! Granted we had a few chances but nothing id class as clear cut the game seemed like a trainning match not what i was expecting at all and being sat in the kingsland nursing home of block 30 didnt help my enjoyment of the match either!

Snowing its little heart out for the last 15 minutes here and im about 2 miles from the stadium. Wouldnt mind it being called off right now its a bit baltic up the back of block 30!!!!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/swansea_city/7863249.stm Nice to see other teams complaining about our style of play for a change! Apparently we are "over physical" I thought it was an excellent tactic for this game and once Mollenyeux got himself sent off we were unable to carry it on as much which led to them getting more into the game.

who ever decided to loan out saga should be put down
Stu Man Do replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
Just a quick point ... How many people on here were arguing he should be gotten rid of because he had only scored 3 last year? Secondly and arguably the time away has improved his confidence and has brought him back with renewed enthusiasm? Two sides to any story I suppose though I always said it was daft to loan him out if we could afford him. -
Agreed but I think his fitness level isnt up to it due to the way he plays the game. For me Mcgoldrick was an absolute disgrace to his team mates and the club. Lazy, doesnt anticipate anything and general lack of effort HE should be cleaning Kaynes boots this evening as he was totally shown up by the young lad who did more in 15 or so minutes than McG has done all season. It annoys me so much to see him prancing about barely getting into our own half whilst saga and others were blowing a gasket to get back and get in tackles. First goal stemmed from Daves lack of pressure on their left back who then had time and space to ping a ball to gomes ... wasnt helped by Surmans lack of a challenge then but if you cut it out at the start these problems dont develop!!!

To be fair in a pretty poor season I found that comment to be one of the uplifting moments ... gave me hours of laughter :-p As for learning lessons I'll believe that when I see a tight well defended 1-0 win without any jitters in the last 10 minutes, the referee blowing up exactly on the right amount of extra time and seeing adam L stay on the right wing , oh and hope against hope Dave McG not missing another 1 on 1 :-p

New striker - signed? According to Dutch Media
Stu Man Do replied to ladysaint's topic in The Saints
To be fair hes played once in 2004 ... Ricketts played 1 game for England it doesnt make him a player we'd want to sign. His scoring record according to wiki is not exactly immense 24 in 94 games for NEC and 2 in 10 for FC Twente. Its not the fact were not signing the worlds best players , were saints fans we know thats not going to happen, its the fact were signing more no marks to get on the end of non existant Ryan Smith crosses when we have better players out on loan! -
I'm sure they said us getting Stern John was a seperate deal to the Kenwyne Jones one although clearly there to seal the deal. BBC is currently quoted as Spurs having bid 15 million for jones so it would be nice to see 10% of that 9 million might pay the wages for a week or so :-)
-
Totally agree just seemed to be finding some form and game time at Sheff Utd before he came back only to find him gone a few hours later to another team above us ... now im not a manager but it stands to reason if he can make it into their teams e.g. teams better than us he should be brought back and played asap :-)
-
Question is, if Wotte wasnt good enough to be manager first time up e.g less suitable than JP what makes him more suitable long term now?
-
What a ledge "Ive caught the southampton bug" Good man top keeper this year certainly earning his money at the moment!
-
I think the difference is that last year we still had a proven and consistent scorer in Stern John last year. The loans of the likes of Rasiak and John whilst leaving us with untested DMG or the failures that were Robertson and Pekhart is where Lowe is getting slated.
-
Unfortunately I can't see Mr Wilde being big enough to post a response to that. When the "chariman" of our club doesnt even bother to attend a highly important AGM and leaves with the team only 1-0 down does this show a level of care that you'd expect from an executive let alone a "fan" and I use that term loosely at the moment. Heres some more questions for him if he cares to prove me wrong ... 1) What input did you have to appointing the new manager? 2) How do you justify spending x thousand a week on no less than Robertson, Smith, Gasmi, Pullis, Forecast and Pekhart yet loaning out our top scoring strikers Surely you cant be suggesting that a Rasiak or John could have achieved LESS in the same space of time as the above SIX!!!! players? 3) What efforts have been made to help JP out or in fact considered replacements now that its clear he isnt up to the job?
-
Just to make a point on Holmes/ BWP Dave Armstrong was saying he could see Holmes asking to be switched wings when he realised it wasnt working and was given a big thumbs down to this idea. JP seems like a decent bloke but hes suffering burleyitus, several people have told me they didnt see him in the technical area very much 2nd half is this true? If so remind anyone else of Burleys hiding vs Watford last Jan when he realised he no longer gave a fook?
-
Can anyone actually explain those subs to me? Holmes looked pretty decent to me to be replaced by that inept mug Smith and as for taking off Perry for (in my mind) the ineffective Lalllana god only knows what JP was schmoookin this afternoon :-( Going down I reckons
-
Cant be arsed to look through 5 pages of no doubt "stimulating" lupoli based conjecture but the sun has a "club sources" quoted as saying no meeting between us and lupoli or his agents has happened. Add this one to the list of ****e rumours then along with dos santos? lol

players not as fit as bournemouth players?
Stu Man Do replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
Extra fitness doesnt seem to have done them much help in the winning games stakes ;-) -
Get the **** in there! 1-0 DMG!!
-
Seems a bit silly to have dropped Skacel completely our bench looks a little inadequate to me but only time will tell. I'd prefer to see Skacel on the left wing and Holmes on the right with BWP up top instead of Mcgoldrick. Euell also might be a decent bet up top with saga as he could hold the ball up a little better and with the crosses from Holmes and Skacel ... who knows, might even have scored a couple. What we would do for a Rasiak knocking in those crosses!
