  1. Really? Had the ball alot did nothing with it. tackled every time he had the ball in a dangerous position because of his stupid need to step over everytime he attacked. Couldnt see anything about him Id want in our team :-)
  2. Perhaps the Thai bloke has seen what great potential there is here and will shortly be tabling a bid? =-o Isn't there a rule where by you can't own major shares in 2 clubs? I'm soooooo not ITK though if you know what I mean.
  3. Really? Looked like he had a mare to me, got lucky with the ball breaking to him twice when the pool keeper then fell "injured" other than that he was awful. I think his problem and others who have played that wide right position is that they dont push on enough, this leads to him being too close to the full back or CM to make the pass to him useful. Didn't do enough tracking back or going forward for me. That's not to say he wont be amazing next time hes put into the team but Saturday he was poor and theres no point dressing it up as otherwise.
  4. My prefered CB's would be Perry and Svensson if for nothing else but 100's of games of experience. Personally I would bench Surman and play Cork there as supposedly he can play all across the back 4. Surman then used as a sub for whoever tires of Gillet or MS. My Back 5 would then be; Davis James Svensson Perry Cork
  5. Nothing to do with the game being on sky then? ;-) Personally I think if you are using Rupert Lowe as a reason to not go to games ergo in turn finacially fook us over its a bit childish. Its like saying oh I don't like my boss I'll stop going to work or my wife is no longer the beautiful young woman I married 30 years ago! He's back, no one is willing to buy us so I'd suggest dealing with it or finding another club! Personally my only reason for not attending this season will be money. Yes we've sold a few big name players, yes we didnt get the best deal for Davies but we know maybe 1% about the transfer dealings lets face it no one on here is REALLY in the know ... yes I include Wilde in that!
  6. Has our goal now been credited to McGoldrick? Looks clear to me that Lallana's header was already over the line once before McG made sure.
  7. Just have to compare JP's comments with those of whinger Paul Jewell on a Derby website http://therams.co.uk/stories/jewell-in-stick-together-call-as-he-bids-to-shake-off-the-negative-vibe Complains about constant negativity about the club (could be said of some of our own im sure!) but does come across as a bit whingy and worried.
  8. ha we'll probably do our usual trick of a 10 minutes to midnight loan so some other team can have the benefit of his crossing skills =]
  9. To be fair he'll be back in this division next season but good luck to him you can see why any player would want to get out of SMS at the moment though :-(
  10. I do wonder what games some people watch! Davis was good on Saturday and has improved alot since last season. Still think we'll lose 2-1 though its my birthday ... we always lose on my birthday =[
  11. Did it sound to anyone else that, that article was complete BS? From the interview yesterday over Davies JP clearly knew nothing of the transfer in fact saying he knew "nothing" about it 2 seperate occassions! Just fecks me off that the club feel the need to lie over it and accredit quotes to him. As others have said the bench options were terrible, Thomson to my mind isn't really ready yet and I think Gillet looked like he needed subbing after 70 mins so why no Wotton?! Without being ready to slit my wrists over it as we did play very well for 70% of the game, his lack of subs and seemingly no plan B is a bit disconcerting.
  12. Does this mean he will be unable to play against us during his loan period?
  13. Seems to me that if they are fit and available they should play. Pointless having them sat on their 15k a week for doing faff all. Doesnt seem like there is much interest in them at the moment and even when there is wages will always be a problem. If we go a few games without some points they are well worth bearing in mind. Personally I think they could both fit into this system quite well.
  14. Got to agree the way their fans were makes JohnB's comments on being "sporting" complete tosh I can't imagine we'd have done that to them had the 2nd leg been at home feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though! Overall we battered them 3 times out of 4 that season (the home playoff I felt we just ended a bit flat relying on that 2nd leg to come) so to say they were the better team ... I think not. Yes it may be some form of bitterness but like Thorepys said I think you had to be there that night to understand just what utter *****s their fans really are, the premier league season also suggests at just how crap they were and I still find it amusing to see them lose. On another note its my birthday that day so please Saints don't **** it up for me! lol
  15. Like I said dont shoot the messenger =] what else am I gonna do with 3 posts? Post something insightful like you? :-D
  16. I heard Paul Allens little brother Dangerous Dave Allen wishes to take us over ...he's willing to take us over and pump in 100million monoploy dollars as long as he gets to keep all the rent from Mayfair and that side of the board. He will be arriving via Space craft next Friday so keep an eye out on his provisional landing aread of Southampton water around about 12:02 on that day. DONT SHOOT THE MESSENGER I'm not ITK just passing on what I heard from my mates milk man!
  17. lol whatever happens now we've already improved our record in Cardiff just by scoring! Well done Davey lad! Haven't heard alot from Thomson yet though so hope he can kick on 2nd half.
  18. Disappointing really would have prefered to see Rasiak got shot off looked like he couldnt be arsed tuesday evening vs Stoke. Personally I think Saga would provide better value and is a more likely straight swap with Dave Mcgoldrick when he "scores" the general lack of goals I still think he will score. Hopefully he'll prove me wrong though!
  19. You think Thomson is truely up to a start on Saturday?! You're a braver arm chair manager than I lol
  20. If I was to chose; Davis Lloyd James Svensson Perry (with no davies as yet) Surman (because who else do we have?!) Dyer Morgan S Gillet Holmes Llalana John
  21. First half clearly had our players not 100% none the less played some nice stuff just same as usual few real efforts or taking too long to shoot .. Llalana (sp?) was class though and Holmes delivered some good crosses. Thought Gillet did well vs a much bigger opponent! Thomson looked rather jaded though didnt get forward as much as 2nd half vs WH and seemed a bit lost. 2nd half was wholescale change people with most credit from this half would have to be mills who gt forward and defended brilliantly, John who had a few decent chances and Dyer who to my mind should be starting on sat in place of thomson. Even BWP looked reasonable. Only thing 2nd half was we seemed susceptible to the counter attack with so many players bombing forward. To be fair thats all Stoke really had but they were organised and so this was a good test Kitson looked good for them but fell over alot ... ****age :-p If thats all they have this season see a points return circa Derbys by next may!
  22. Its ok based on the pre season games I've been to this season scoring from corners won't be happening this season! As for going I'm in the same mind as yourself I think if we perform well against Stoke that will be grounds for optimism :-) Saying that we did well against Stoke both games last season with arguably the worst Saints team in the last 10 years lol
  23. Actually the best (at least first half display) we have played in a veryyyyyy long time! At half time the guy next to me said he was amazed at how well we had played ... you just wouldnt credit it after last season. West ham to my mind put in full effort and got back into it 2nd half purely based on the fact they had like 8 (?) subs wereas we kept on nearly our whole starting 11. Couple of points ... Jake Thompson needs to take his man on more, did this 2nd half and tore through the WH defence easily. Morgan S - What a bargain if he plays that way every game he wont be here long :-( and Svensson looked assured as did Lloyd James who looked much improved from the Celtic game IMO. My only concern would be Surman at left back as he was caught out several times when he had attacked and then not got back ala Skacel last season. Left back in our loan would be nice! All in all really impressed possibly starting to feel like we could be ok this season but Stoke will be the telling game I think!
