SWEEPSTAKE ALERT - Puel departure announcement timing - all welcome

I think that says that a decision will NOT be made before June 5th -
......which sums us up as well. We were no better than most of them as the Huill game showed.

I've not met one fan who wants him to stay, some are equivocal and iffy about it but not one I know or chatted to has said categorically to me that he SHOULD stay. A few are cynical and sense that we'll be stuck with the guy anyway because of lack of bottle upstairs to grasp the nettle so we'll need to accept that and just get on with it. An empty stadium at pre-season friendlies should send a clarion call upstairs but knowing that lot they'll arrange to play most away so that they don't have to face reality. -

The owner was here on Sunday so the review and board meetings will have taken place earlier this week before she flew home or to the Seychelles. Once a decision was made on Puel's future why would they sit on it? If he was sacked along with his henchmen what makes anybody think that there would not have been some leaks from the sacked people, because they certainly would not have been happy people at losing their jobs. As the old saying goes, there is no good way to tell somebody that they have been made redundant so sacking them is many times worse. That we have heard nothing all week suggest only that he is staying. We all guessed that Puel was a Reed appointment so there was no chance Reed would admit failure and lose face by firing the bloke he had only recently sold to the board as the natural successor to pick up the reigns from Pochettino & Koeman and the next best thing to sliced bread. I'd love to have these words thrown back at me by opposite events but thigrows less likely by the day. -
What is the matter with you if you can't see why people are so hacked off with the lies and deceit coming from above that the club dress up in amiable rhetoric to sucker idiots like you into following the company line? If we are not in it (PL) to win it then why all the pretence and bull**** and 6 year contracts and such garbage. Can you not see how all it is designed to do is to fool gullible fans into a false sense of security and loyalty so that they are willing accomplices in being robbed every year of upward of £500? Get some balls man and wake up to what has been happening and will continue to happen at SFC all the time the present asset-stripping regime is in power and running the show.

What process, sticking a wet finger up in the wind and guessing a name? Reed wouldn't know a process if it bit him on the Rrrrrr's.
-
Of course not Les Greed will never admit he screwed up big time by signing Puel so Puel will stay unless he resigns.
-
No chatter anywhere else, sounds like trolling to me.

Your name should be Samwic. I imagine you are winding us up. That's the politest way of responding.

It's beginning to look like he's staying. Many of us are going to find that very hard to handle. So much for the power of the people. -
Cobblers! We're in it to win it or why bother?

Let's face it not once did JWP win a tackle and most times the ball came to him he offloaded it as quickly as he could, nearly always with a safe little pass sideways of backwards. After 60 mins he more or less went missing, he was actually hiding between or near the two centre backs so that he didn't get the ball! Hojberg & Clasie must be really, really bad for JWP to become automatic first pick. I guess 'though this might be more to do with Les insisting that poster boy must start so that commentators talk about His Wonderful Academy and how good we are at spotting and developing your talent. One really good thing with a new manager will be that all players start from zero without favouritism which is clearly rampant under this regime.
-
You really do spout a load of utter bilge. Give it a rest mate, everyone's disappointed after today's game but it certainly isn't the fault of the fans who rightly expect more for their money than they are getting. Try putting your money where your mouth is.
-
Yep! and Fraser Forster will have to shoulder some of the blame for not being here at the time.....

No you could not be more wrong. You can only beat what is in front of you and Nigel did just that. Everyone worried that his squad couldn't hack it in the Championship and look what happened, he stormed it and then they said we couldn't hack it in the PL and look what happened etc. It's cheap and disingenuous to say that he was gifted a world class squad as 'though he had nothing to do with the rise of the new Southampton and developing players like Ricky Lambert, Lallana and Schneiderlin to their full potential and international status. Of course he was instrumental in all of that.
-
Nigel has been here a few times lately usually with a beaming smile so it will be no surprise to me if he joins the coaching staff in some capacity but unlikely surely to be first team manager? The junior sides have been a disaster this year so Hunter & Jaidi might be jettisoned. Nigel could take over as either Academy director or to coach the junior teams. Why not, he's out of work and would be a tremendous asset.

I sat near enough to R&R as you call them to have seen their reactions last night and it seemed all rather jovial up there to me, Les because he has just got promoted to Deputy Mr Big Knob and Chairman Big Knob himself because he has found a dumb sucker to take the fall when the proverbial hits the fan very soon. Didn't see any signs of disapproval 'though so not sure where that came from. Let's be real, this is all going to get glossed over and there will be no changes and why not, simply because no way have they got any cash too pay Puel off and they can't do him for gross misconduct. Black is a different kettle of fish, don't like the look of that bloke at all and nor does Susan Tadic judging by their touchline spat last night which was very undignified. That behaviour surely must have been noticed upstairs and will likely see the end of Black or Tadic? I do hope it's Black, who strikes me as an arrogant opinionated bully boy. -
Anything to Nil and we own 8th place whatever the others do tonight or on Sunday. Blow to lose Ryan Bertrand 'though. I'm going for 4-0.
-
Don't you just love a measured well balanced opinion like this. Are there any circumstances in which Claude Puel might get some credit and praise from you? We all know the answer to that so don't bother trying.
-
The fan base united? When was that then, 'cos all I ever read on here are internecine feuds being promulgated on thread after thread ad nauseam.
-
That sir is complete and utter rubbish as well you know, Geat sound effect but miles short of reality. We have played some damn good football this year and not always got the rewards our play has deserved sim[ly because of woeful finishing. Did you not see the game Arsenal a week ago? The first half which we bossed was one of the most thrilling high speed inter-passing football contests seen here for many a long year and I have been watching far longer than you.

Besides which, Howe was useless at Burnley and has succeeded only at Bournemouth where he has been entrenched for years because he is friends with everyone, tea ladies and players alike. He's never had to manage and motivate a squad full of prima donnas and poster boys.

What Mourinho did yesterday should warrant a FA inquiry, a sanction and a lengthy ban, PL teams should be compelled to put out as strong team as possible under all circumstances and compete seriously. Just fielding what even he described as "not a team" just eleven players "who don't get to play much" and thereby deliberately throwing the game is not fair to the other 19 clubs in the PL. I guess a lot of our fans won't care much if he does the same again on Wednesday at St Mary's as it might (but probably won't) allow us to grab two unexpected points but it also cheats the fans who will turn up to watch hoping to see Man U's first team players like Pogba and the clubs around us challenging for 8th place. Of course I want us to win but I want us to win against the best side Man U can put out like at Wembley. -
I'll have a stiff gin & tonic and a little nap, then I'll read try to your comment again to see what sense can be made of it.. Beats me at the moment.
