  1. Of course, it worked well with Forster
  2. As I said, not to mention his arm. In this case, unusually I agree, the camera angle was absolutely perfect. The camera was situated directly facing the penalty area line, looking straight along it, and Lukaku was on the line at the moment the ball was played, except his leg, which was well over the line. Vestegaard? was directly on the line. It was a perfect situation to see absolutely clearly whether the player was or was not offside. In no way was this one too tight to call for VAR. It was one of the clearest cut situations you could possibly ask for, te hnology itself really could not add anything except the confirmation that he was indeed offside.
  3. How was it too tight to call? Quite clear that Lukaku's knee/leg is offside, not to mention his arm. Great thing about the penalty area line and the camera angle showed it very clearly. VAR gridlines would not have made it any clearer.
  4. Playing now, subbed on after 67
  5. Comic genius
  6. Don't forget midfield, almost complete lack of any creativity. Not too sure about goalkeeping either.
  7. They could come from Redmond, Armstrong, JWP, PEH, Stephens, Yoshida, Targett all have scored fairly recently and more often than Long or Austin. A few more from some of our other players would be welcome, Vestegaard, Bednarek, Bertrand, Valery, Romeu. It doesn't have to be all about strikers.
  8. Waited until I had seen the highlights before commenting, but clearly neither goal was the fault of Stephens today. Usual blaming the current fall guy without actually watching the action. Typical of this place these days. Not saying he didn't make other mistakes today, but those weren't.
  9. Well given that everyone on here says our fit strikers are useless what do you expect? Fact is Redmond is a striker. Makes me laugh all the experts on here moaning about the team. I get the Stephens bit but otherwise what would anyone seriously do different. Bertrand was useless on his return. I'd stick with the back 3 we have it's about getting consistency and understanding, Stephens is also our only defender who knows how to score.
  10. Perhaps they will go for Hughes, he is available I understand.
  11. Brighton
  12. Pompey are 2 levels above Southampton FC (Tier 3 v Tier 5). If they get promoted this season it could be quite interesting next as they would then be in the same league as Southampton Saints and Southampton Women (both of whom claim to be the direct descendants of RS Southampton who won the Womens FA Cup many times back in the day, and until recently were the most successful womens team ever). Saints are the team that used to be affiliated to the Football Club, I think it was Lowe who cut them adrift when they were in the 2nd tier. Promotion and relegation in the women's game can be a bit of a lottery, sometimes the FA artificially move teams up or down as they see fit, and some new teams join at a top level if they are called Manchester while others who are called something unfashionable like Southampton have to start at the bottom of the ladder. Currently 2nd in league with 10 wins from 10, but behind AFC Bournemouth who have won 10 from 11, 3-1 to Southampton earlier in the season. Decider is last match of the season, 31 March at Verwood. Suspect only the winners are automatically promoted to Tier 4.
  13. Actually Gabbi came on and scored.
  14. Clasie and Martina lost against Groningen as well. Gaston not in the Samdoria team, think he may be injured (quelle surprise). Tadic 2 for Ajax.
  15. Marks Liebherr with help from Coftwse rescuex us from oblivion. Not his daughter or any other members of his family.
  16. Not been here much lately then. Apart from a couple of nasty posters being insulting there isn't much on here that's even close to as nasty as many threads on this forum. Good to see at last that people are seeing the truth of the situation and that Ms Liebherr gaining control of the club has been hugely negative as those who were not won over by the dismissal of Cortese could see at the time. Having an heiress in charge of the clubbwith no interest in or live of the club was always likely to end in tears.
  17. Fulham had 2 shots on target.
  18. Smallbone
  19. Absolutely right.
  20. Seems to ignore the fact that it was Hughes who (eventually) dropped him, 2 games before Ralph arrived. Was also on the Ben h for Ralph's first 2 games. Really don't believe he was never told what the problem was. He is just an arrogant cock. Still think he will eventually be a good CB, assuming he can learn that he is not a legend in his own mind.
  21. It's not what was reported, check the date and what the report actually says. The point is was it after the team left or before? Is it the reason he didn't go or is it just a coincidence? Of course if it happened it's understandable he didn't go, although the report says she wasn't harmed. It's a shame that a player who has not been integrated into the new system much is missing out on this opportunity.
  22. Looks like that would have been the early hours of Monday morning (night out day after the game). Didn't the team fly out Sunday for training Monday?
  23. Trying to work out who is actually in Tenerife amongst all the moronic comments about how they should not have gone because they are proper naughty boys. Used to be that we were told who was on the plane. Haven't seen Ings or Lemina in any media. Also seems clear Forster isn't there, 3 keepers clearly enough.
  24. Conceding like we did in the 93 minute.is frustrating, but the real problem was conceding in the 69th. The problem was Ralph just got the tactics wrong for the game and this is an issue withe the way he sets up against teams that don't want to attack. Poch had the same problem when he was here and had to work out alternative ways of beating such opponents, he got there eventually because we developed our midfield creativity. Sadly Ralph doesn't have the players to develop in this area so I can see us continuing to struggle against bottom teams. Blaming our predicament on individual mistakes doesn't get you anywhere, all players make mistakes, the trick is to ensure that those mistakes aren't costly by scoring enough ourselves. Even Stephens' blunder really should not have cost us, there were many opportunities to regain the possession, indeed Bednarek did actually do so but his poor header gave the ball away almost as badly as Ja k's silly pass. Long time sin e I've seen so much bad play from players as they showed dealing with that error.
  25. It's any one of 6 to join Huddersfield and Fulham. 3 points covering the 6, with Brighton in free fall. Doubt Palace or. Burnley will go down, but while its only 3 points who knows.
