Ossie could never be regarded as a journeyman, assuming you know what the term means (clue, it has nothing to do with number of clubs). He was a master craftsman. His legs had gone when he joined us but developed a style of play that involved little or no running but his passing ability was second to none. Much admired and great favourite at the time. One of the few players to be revered at more than one club, a legend for Chelsea and Saints.

Not true, though I know what you mean. Sims, Jones, Hesketh and Flannigan are back and Barnes could now be added. Nothing of great merit there but giving Ralph some more options.

Mixed feelings, I've been one of his fiercest critics, has been so bad. But I still think that one day he will be very good. He just needs some help learning how to concentrate and to make sure he does the simple things when needed. He is a very good footballer but needs to learn a little humility. I can't believe anyone seriously thought we would get a fee for him. He is out of contract in June. Problem for Hesketh is that not only is he cup tied but he would also need a PL squad place I think (he's 22). That relies on removing someone else and guess that Barnes is ahead of him in that queue.

In his last season with us he only got 1 straight red. He previously got 2 double yellows which cost him 1 match suspensions. The straight red was his 3rd suspension so was for 5 games. Missed 7 league games in total due to suspensions.

Are you suggesting that the blood emanating from Bernardo Silva's right eyebrow was not real? Thought fake blood capsules was an egg chaser problem. Injury looked pretty real, indeed suggestion was he would need a stitch or two, though that didn't seem to happen. Being a head injury ref had no option but to stop the game, but he should have dealt with the situation better, he could have got Silva off the pitch for treatment once he had ascertained that there was no danger, and that would probably have meant City wouldn't have had time for the 3rd goal, but don't think you can claim that one was cynical on City's part (several other things were).

Why do you assume its Ralph freezing them out, more likely they didn't buy into the plans and have moves lined up so have frozen themselves out. Bertrand is still recovering from injury, nevertheless my understanding is that he is on his way as well, but could be wrong. Really wouldn't be surprised to see one or two early moves once the window opens, both directions, to make places available in the squad, e.g. Barnes.

Need to remove someone from the squad list first.
