How the fu k do you think Saints would sell Steven Davis!? He will be 34 in January. Difficult to see anyone BUYING JWP either, maybe we can offload him to his spiritual home when the Blue Few return to the Championship.
-
Possibly because he never made much difference in the past when he did play regularly. I'm sure you will point out a goal or an assist here and there but he never did anything on a regular basis. His set piece expertise is largely a myth.

Maidenhead are playing Chippenham. I hope Maidenhead win so that we aren't invaded by Skates here in the next round. The thought of that **** with a bell and his "mates" at Hardenhuish is too awful to contemplate.

Really don't understand how Hoedt continues to be picked with Yoshida on the bench. Good to see Stephens back but should have been alongside Yoshida. Can understand Vestegaard being dropped, too slow against Boscombe front players.
-
Doing quite well in the 2nd division.
-
Until we scored our second if I remember rightly Sunderland were completely out playing us that day. After that they capitulated but it could have been very different.
-
It was all planned though, VVD was promised the captaincy as part of his contract extension. Fonte was clearly not impressed. VVD captained the team in the Europa League which strangely Fonte didn't play in. No idea what Netherlands has got to do with anything. Anyone who doesn't realise this was what was going on must have been living in a cave or something.
-
I'm suspicious that you don't actually realise Taylor has left. You really need a source for the latter, did you not observe what was happening at the time, it was not exactly something that was covered up.
-
Taylor doesn't contribute anything. VvD didn't become leader through skill, he became captain by negotiating it as part of a revised contract deal with Bungling Les, which in turn lead to Fonte being forced out. We all know how well that turned out for the Club.

Who really cares who it is, hardly a big deal, Moi hasn't exactly set the PL alight, another poor bit of recruitment.
-
Withdrawn from England squad. Thank goodness we have Gunn available.
-
No it isn't. As usual Nick misses the point completely and also misses the problem with the Academy. In the end the buck stops with the Owner(s). Gao has done nothing, and his hands have apparently been tied by our minority owner who did not have the nous to see what was going wrong after pushing out our last effective Chief Exec. Playe recruitment is a problem but it's an effect rather than a cause, as are the other problems, Academy development, commer ial development, etc etc

Maybe we need relegation like we needed administration...

Only because we got very lucky and were picked up by Markus Liebherr and Nicola Cortese. Little likelihood of Admin again, and the chance of getting picked up by someone of their ilk again is close to zero. -
You forgot Angus Gunn, £13.5m
-
Just about the only outfield player who looked like he gave a toss. Problem with our team at the moment, no-one who cares (maybe Yoshida).
-
It's the fact that he has done nothing, said nothing, shown nothing and seems to have had his hands tied by our minority owner that is the concern. Making bad managerial appointments is because he has done nothing to change the incompetents that we had before he bought the club. In the end it is his responsibility, albeit with the shackles in place that the previous owner seems to have put in place. The incompetent management put in place constraints to protect their positions. Gao needs to ac to protect his investment but shows no signs of doing so or having the nouse to do so.
-
Let's hope you're right (I heard similar today as well). I don't want him to be off because one day he will be a good player, but for now he isn't and shouldn't be anywhere near our first team.
-
But the man agent of the club is the responsibility of the owner. If he was any use, he would have kicked out the likes of Ralph and Les and replaced them with people who can be effective and make a difference. Being the owner isn't just about the money, it's about having a vision and putting things in place to turn the vision into reality. Gao seems to lack that vision or any idea how to fix the club and ultimately that's his problem, compounded by the stupid decision by our previous and still part owner to maintain the status quo with regards to our pathetic management.
-
It went pear shaped before Gao got involved, but it's a much bigger pear now.
-
Agreed, just watched as well, unbelievable, not just the left back but also the captain. Our left side of defence has become so poor, with Hoedt making mistake after mistake again, how on earth does he keep his place in the team. Vestegaard looking poor, slow as well. Hughes has to bring back Yoshida and pair him with Stephens if we are to improve. I still think one day Hoedt will be good but he needs to improve away from our central defence, we can't afford to have someone learn his trade in that position. Looks like Bertie needs to be replaced with Targett and Yoshida restored as captain.
-
Or even better get shot of Ralph (and Les, Gao, Nelly and Kat)
-
than Southampton for a scout to see his work rewarded, as the Premier League side are known to give their youngsters a chance. .. but only on loan at other clubs.
-
Romeu was fans player of the season year before last, so I can't see we have been missing a DM since Wanyama left. He seems to be half the player he was then at the moment but its difficult to say we don't have one, we just need to get him back to form or make sure the system he is playing in suits him better. He also seems to struggle when playing with Lemina (and vice versa).
-
Maybe because he didn't want to be #2 to Cedric.
-
If you were picking a central defender Wesley Hoedt wouldn't even be on the bottom of the list.
