  1. Matt lost. At least i can stop watching Countdown again now.
  2. Might not last 90 minutes...
  3. I think Martina is also available. Curacao were knocked out of the WC and don't seem to have any fixtures this week. Stek is also not on international duty AFAIK.
  4. Ramirez has not been called by Uruguay for a year or so.
  5. But they never help poor old Chelsea, according to The Special Needs One. It was a fact though, stealing that 5 yards was clearly in this case the difference between a direct shot at goal and not. Happens all the time of course, but usually it makes no difference.
  6. Tommy Docherty was manager at the time, he was quite special (and at least is not a arrogant **** like the current incumbent). Dave Sexton took over soon after and was in charge when they won 5-3 at The Dell later in the season (Jan 1968 - my first Saints game).
  7. Glad someone else noticed this. It probably would not have been a goal if it had been further back. Still, the referees are all against Chelski aren't they.
  8. We'll be the Southampton Saints before too long...(nooooooo...)
  9. Think yesterday was just about as good as it has got so far. Given we should also have had 2 penalties and Tadic should have scored as well, it could easily have equalled our 6-2 victory at the Bridge from 1967 (Davies (4), Chivers (2), Osgood (2, but for Chelsea))
  10. Quinn said he wasn't sure if it was a pen but thought the yellow was harsh. BBC commentator and pundits said it was definitely not a penalty. It wasn't a penalty, Falcao had already started diving before The Stek got anywhere near him. Stek neither fouled him nor intended to foul him. Therefore no penalty. Whitey and others are absolutely correct. You and Jose have a contrary opinion.
  11. Or are there just tedious infantile weirdos like you? We've just won 3-1 against Chelsea but you have to be a knobhead and not think of positive things. Really don't get what ****s like you get out of life. I seem to recall I didn't rate Pelle after his first game or so, he was poor at the time and looked like he didn't give a toss. I'm still not a great lover of him, but hey ho I can't fault some of his recent performances. He was also pathetic against Man U asking to be subbed. Doesn't mean he can't be good as well. Sadly thickos like you don't seem to be able to cope with the notion that players can improve, can go good and bad spells, and so on. Some people see how players perform in a particular match and base judgements on the displays, not on how you think a player played or how you want him to play.
  12. Just as Jamie R said. Not only was it a pen, but the subsequent foul on Mane was a foul yet Mane gets a booking for diving.
  13. You missed his previous 6 goals then? That's his 7th since he's been here.
  14. That was my thought when I read it, kind of little job I could do with now I've semi-retired. Very reasonable rates :-)
  15. At least 10 I would reckon would be good additions to our squad. A few that I don't know much about. Most of that 10 are as good if not better than England have right now.
  16. Think Rooney would be more interested in Ada Byron to be honest.
  17. As long as Ronald has learned the lesson from last week not to take Davis off so that the tempo of our game is destroyed then we could be OK.
  18. They have the same number (3). Difference is that they have purchased them over a period of years, they didn't come shopping at Southampton on a bulk buy basis. They also did us a favour in some respects with Walcott, given the dire financial straits we were in at the time, his transfer was almost 10 years ago now. The two clubs and how we do business with them are very different cases.
  19. I know very well what the UK is. Definition of British, an adjective referring to something of, from, or related to the United Kingdom or the island of Great Britain. People born in Northern Ireland are technically British, whether or not they hold a British or Irish passport. My wife is definitely British, she was born in Northern Ireland. I would agree that she doesn't come from Great Britain, but that's another matter.
  20. It went well the previous time.
  21. As a schoolboy.
  22. We have never done so, so I'm not sure I see how you can say we can, there is no evidence to support the idea.
  23. Ings is stretching it a bit. Anyway Liverpool are not Top 4 (Chelsea, Man City, Man U & Arsenal) Not sure how you include Long in the "smattering", he isn't British. You could however include Davis instead, as technically he is British, you could also include Caulker for that matter although on loan.
  24. A Skate from Swindon? Feck, they get everywhere now.
