Its the boring part of the season for Arry. No transfers, no brown envelopes, just bloody football matches. Gets others to do his coaching. His dog does his accounts. It must be frustrating and boring being Arry at the moment.

Thank goodness he did, now we have Ron. I know which I would rather have.

Martin Samuel p*sses in our pool again.....
VectisSaint replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Almost exactly the words that Samuel himself said. Basically the whole point of his article. I said before there really was not much wrong with what he had written, just that it was rather poor quality for a so-called football journalist. There is also not much wrong with what he has said in this follow up. The problem is that most people have not grasped his basic point, which was to say to the Board, don't think its this easy and that the model of this summer can be repeated. Sadly the comments from the so-called Saints supporters he has quoted just go to prove that many lack basic knowledge to understand what is going on. But then I guess that not only are the Saints supporters but also Daily Fail readers (since you have to be registered to make these comments). Sometimes we are made to look a bit stupid as a collective by the comments of a few. -
Back off the bad mouthing of Wiltshire. Good enough for Mick Channon its good enough for me. Not sure what that's got do with Saints or Arsenal though.

He's coming for you He's coming for you Felix Magath is coming for you

So still only plays in 60 minute increments

More concerned that if we get drawn against Bompey in the next round that he may be eligible to play. On the other hand Ron doesn't rate him so maybe that would be considered a good thing. can you imagine if we lose to Bompey because Boruc plays a blinder?
-
You mean when he foresaw what we now all know. Perhaps we should give Clatto a cheer for having better perception than us.
-
So the one good thing that Lowe did then.

Saggy Chops is the 2nd Judas. Hoddle was the first.

Do people really believe this is a myth? Gerrard turned the heads of Lambo and Lallana. Hopefully it will not be such a problem in the future given that Old Slowcoach has retired from England duty. Same happened in years gone by with Bridge.

I would have Chambers back, we should never have sold him, the only sale that still really irks me. he is a super player, and will develop greatly in time. Although I hate his attitude I would have Lallana back, we really need him as cover for Tadic, to bring on with 20 to go. Lovren, no thanks, demonstrating clearly that he was flattered by Fonte, and deffo no better than Toby or even Gardos. SRL - he was going anyway, we had the best out of him. Shaw, meh we have Bertrand who is currently as good (but probably won't develop to the same extent as Shaw) and it sounds like Targett is getting close as well. I would like to have Ramirez back though.

I don't think that will catch on.

Anyone else think we could be on the verge of something special?
VectisSaint replied to washsaint's topic in The Saints
We will not be on the verge of anything great while we have such a paper thin squad. We do not have 2 quality players in every position in defence. Backup RB? Assume that's Toby, which is great when he is injured. Backup LB is Targett, have to say that is probably better than last season, but I think you are depending a lot on a youngster there who is not fully proven (I think Bertrand is as good as Shaw was last season so no issues there). Then we have the GK situation (which is part of defence). Same lack of quality backup as last season now that Boruc has been shipped out. Unless we are incredibly incredibly lucky, we will not avoid an injury/suspension crisis at some point just like last season and once a few of our 1st XI are not available we will struggle. Just like last season that will most likely happen when the really hard games come along early mid season. JRod is out till Xmas at least, now JWP is also out to Xmas, Toby and Yoshi are both currently injured, though it looks short-term. Gallagher still nowhere to be seen. We have 6 players out on loan, our squad is no stronger in depth than last season. No doubt though that we have a great manager and great 1st XI (or 1st XV lets say). Exciting times, because the style of play is better than under Poch, but don't get carried away, there is still an elephant in the room, just like there was last year. -
Head in sand. Let me know the options at CB or GK for that matter.

Suggests it was metatarsel as the commentators speculated at the time.

Martin Samuel p*sses in our pool again.....
VectisSaint replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Many people (seemingly me included despite having you on ignore) read your posts in a similar way with a similar view. In order to form the opinion that Samuels is a clown it is usually necessary to read said posts. Personally don't think he is a clown, just a very poor, ill-informed, stating the bleeding obvious fat **** of a journo hack. -
I assume the author is not a native English speaker, the report is appallingly badly written, much of it looks like the output of a Google translated page. Maybe a trainee Martin Samuels.

So you do remember, despite what you posted.

Martin Samuel p*sses in our pool again.....
VectisSaint replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
No its not, majority is 3 out of 5, that means Shaw (brought through), Chambers (brought through) and Lovren (bought). Technically absolutely correct. All in all there is nothing wrong with the article. But its not exactly insightful or in-depth or anything that would be written by the sports journalist of the year. Any average hack could have written the same and would probably have looked a little more in-depth into the circumstances etc. Truth is that if the Board, inexperienced as they are, believe this way works then they could go down the route of disaster that he sees. We have to believe that the experience of some members of the Board who were here previously (i.e. Les) would hold sway in case any of the newbies think this is an easy game. I hope Ralph does not get sucked in but as of now there is no evidence either way whether he would or would not (not just Ralph of course). -
Too many beers again. If it helps we won 1-0.

Liverpool man robbed...this is brilliant!
VectisSaint replied to Steeleye Saint's topic in The Saints
Liverpool police have reportedly contacted their Manchester counterparts about a similar case, this one related to a young player (whose name cannot be disclosed for legal reasons) who has been traced to the local branch of Nandos. At this time there is nothing to suggest the two cases are linked as no-one has yet seen the young man kick a ball and therefore it is difficult to ascertain whether or not he is a genuine footballer.
