Should the very worst happen he will never need to work.

Koeman's first Southampton press conference 11/7/14

It was quite clear watching him that he was furious with Osvaldo though, but he managed to keep his feelings pretty much in check. -
Liverpool fan reaction's to Suarez - are they for real...

We have a Chairman? Are you sure? -
Seems to sum it up well. Can't argue with much in the article. We still have time to put things in place to be successful this season, but that time is quickly running out. Lots of faith in Ron, very little in Krueger or the other new board member who seems to have disappeared up his own arse. Fortunately we still have Uncle Les to keep things moving along.

Really, must have missed that. I saw him have a very average game against the Argies though.

Perhaps we need it to be yellow with blue short and white socks, it will be just like watching Brazil. Oh wait, maybe that's not a good idea. I hear there are plenty of cheap kits going spare though, it could save us a few pounds and help improve the dire financial position that our current board apparently inherited.
-
Would think we will need an away kit before the 1st August, given we have some away friendlies to be played (Swindon away on 21st July for instance) . Unlikely we will play in last year's away kit given sponsor and manufacturer situation.

I am currently having a picnic. I can confirm it is fun. Certainly better than being CEO of a football club.

Which Rodriquez have you picked? The OP said first game. Lucky to have JRod back much before Christmas, would be happy if you meant James, but guess unlikely.

Well 2.5 anyway, by the time Rovers and Rochdale get their cuts, plus they get their cut of any add-ons as well.

Happy Birthday to your son, Wes. Its my birthday too, was a good birthday present when Markus and NC rocked up and bought the Saints on July 8 2009.

You'd think with a woman in charge we could multi-task. -

Edson Arantes do Nascimento or the one from the Cape Verde Islands. If its the former then your acquaintance knows nothing about football. Still he is getting on a bit these days and does have trouble with "keepy uppy" allegedly (Pele not your acquaintance) -
Where's Wally's Dad?

Well they've certainly gone somewhere. Vacancies galore on the OS, Marketing manager, club photographer, etc etc. No players, no staff, no board, things looking good right now :-)

Still trying to find a member of the Board and a watch -
Why is this a nonsense. It is clearly true, KL and her merry men do not have the ambition of ML/NC. That is why NC is no longer here. It is completely obvious. Perhaps KL's ambition is acceptable in the long term, but it is not the same ambition. Lovren has made it clear he does not know who is in charge, who is running the show now? Les Reed? Fine. But who is taking the lead in the way NC did? KL, no, she has already stated that she is non-exec. Ralph? Nowhere to be seen, maybe not even working for us full time. Big Ron is a great new manager and has a fine coaching team, but he is not running the club, and not driving it forward in whatever direction KL wants to take. That's not his job. So we are left with a Board who are seen as ineffectual, and managers and players are reacting - of course its easy for them to react when so many of them were coveted by big teams for mega bucks, but nevertheless it is a reaction based on the lack of direction and reduced ambition. But don't worry, everything will be fine. Of course the sky is not falling in. But to continue to bury heads in the sand is ridiculous when we are so clearly in a lot of trouble, having lost 4 players already, another two likely to go, our only striker out till December, and all that on top of us having the smallest squad in the League at the end of last season. 5 weeks or so until the start of the season and we would be struggling to put a team out without resorting to players from the Academy who have not played yet. Oh and I forgot Osvaldo either still being here or calling in sick (when he isn't), oh and very strange behaviour from our only decent keeper who decides to get married and presumably have a honeymoon when he should be back training. I guess this will be seen as being a bed wetter (by the immature on here who can think of nothing more sensible to say), whereas in reality it is just taking stock of the situation and realising that currently the Club is a bit of a shambles.

It wasn't the players that we had that were not good enough, it was the players that we didn't have that meant that when the players we had were not available we had no-one to fill in that was adequate. Cover for Boruc (especially), Lovren (i.e Hooiveld), Wanyama/Spiderman/Cork, Lallana and Lambert was poor, and when several of them were unavailable at the same time we were found out (the fact that it all coincided with our difficult fixtures didn't help either). On their day our 1st XI was top 6 or even top 4.
-
To me, the interesting things that have come out from Lovren today are "the Club now lacks ambition" and also tellingly "I don't know who is in charge". Do we still have a Board that is doing anything, other than Uncle Les? When was the last time we heard anything from the Hockey Coach, or the Financial guy from Germany (who seems to have disappeared from the face of the Earth) or even KL for that matter. Koeman can try to attract players, but in the end he doesn't pay the money, that's down to the Board, who seem to have gotten into something frankly thy don't understand. Things are certainly becoming clearer why we are in the position we are now.

As there are "no financial difficulties" why is that an example of why Cortese had to go. More likely an example that the new Board, in particular the Financial Director who has not been seen or heard of since didn't know what he was talking about and helped cause a lot of the difficulties by his crassly stupid comment. Cortese "had to go" because the new owner would not or could not match his ambition and would not sell to a new owner that possibly could.
