I thought they included Super Mario, 99% chance of damaging squad harmony, but I guess also high percent chance of contributing to the team as well.

It is correct to say she inherited the club, but it is not correct that she has put tens of millions and was certainly not involved in the rise from L1. When Markus sadly died, she did not immediately take over the reigns, there was a long drawn out process where the club was owned by the Markus Liebherr Estate. It is only relatively recently that she has taken over fully, probably tail end of last year about the time when NC allegedly handed in his notice. That is why he appeared to have free reign on the finances until that time. So in my view KL has not invested any of her money YET. Will she? Hard to say, but the signs are not good that she will invest to the same level that Markus originally envisaged or that NC was doing with the Estate money. She is clearly not looking to sell, otherwise she would already have done so, to NC and his "backers". Whether that is good or bad is open to debate and we will see what happens. She has my support, but only so far in as much as there is no other option, but I'm singularly unimpressed so far by the actions that she and the board have taken so far, which amount to diddly squat.

You and I were discussing this the other day but I ran out of posts. I was checking and I think it was in the Telegraph back in January that quoted that she had inherited Markus' (note, nothing to do with the Liebherr family) 3bn fortune. I don't recall whether it was GBP or CH Farncs (?) or euros or Turkish Lire, but my point is that the 3bn is nothing to do with the family, it was Markus' personal fortune, which is what i thought was quited when he took over and we were being quoted as something like the 4th richest club in England. i don't believe it is populist attribution, i think it is based on real financial data. Whether that fortune increased or decreased following Markus' untimely demise or not I have no idea, and what the result of the winding up of MALI was again i don't know, but pretty sure that she is/was worth something like 3bn somethings The only other reason i can think if she is not is if the fortune was shared with others rather than just to KL, which I guess is perfectly possible.

Bu Buy some English lessons for our supporters I think some people need to understand what the word "bid" means and also understand that in all likelihood no-one has even made a bid as yet for anyone. After Sunday's game I tend to think Shaw may be off and Adz is not. But would be surprised if Shaw goes to Manure after the treatment he (deservedly) dished out to the little **** Janusez (sp). Can't see them being the best of team mates.

Agreed about thickos, but not sure about KL's wealth. Markus was oft quoted as being worth about 4bill when he bought us out 5 years ago. I can't recall or find out if she was an only child but if she is then I imagine she inherited the vast majority of the Estate (my understanding is that death duties in Switzerland are quite low, one of the main reasons Hans moved there from Germany to avoid the high death duties in his homeland). Also with MALI being wound up I suspect the assets of the various parts of the group may have increased her wealth.

Southampton is nothing to do with the Liebherr Group. Nothing, please try to understand something very simple. Markus was nothing to do with the Liebherr Group, he sold his shares many years ago, Katherina is his daughter and inherited his wealth after his unfortunate and untimely death. Other than a family relationship, she has no other financial or business connection to the Liebherr Group. Along with his brother Hubert, Markus struck out on his own after the death of his father Hans even though he initially inherited a share of the Liebherr business that had been built up by Hans. Its all out there on the interweb thingy if you could only tear yourself away from this forum for a few minutes (or better still a few days) you could actually learn something if you bothered to try and find out and stop posting your nonsense and polluting this forum. But there, why shoud you know any of this, you being an Everton supporter or Skate or whatever it is you actually are.

Do you recall a boy there, looked about 10, and acted the same, probably a year or so ago?

Its Cunard, they are bringing their three Queens into Southampton tomorrow to annnounce the deal in spectscular fashion

Well if he's a Manure supporter then he has Rodney as a prime example to back up his assertion. I think actually the improvement shown by Lallana this season over last is immense, no reason to suppose that he cannot go on improving, though maybe the rate of change will slow down over the next couple of years.

Good lad. Time to dig out the old t-shirts.

Rare start for Dani tonight, Juve stars mostly on the bench rested for their forthcoming WC games, having won the league already. Subbed after 65 minutes at 0-0, Juve take the lead 7 minutes later. Says it all really, he'll be back soon.

Apart from December and January of course, when we were without Boruc, Lovren, Fonte, Schneiderlin, Wanyama, Ramirez, Osvaldo and others for varying amounts of time, strangely coincident with our run of bad form. But for sure its easy to pick our best XI, with only the Clyne/Chambers and Wanyama/Cork decisions really to be made.

You might need to hep them out with a description, he hasn't played a full Serie A game since he joined, 3 starts and 5 subs, no goals, 1 assist and 1 yellow card. At least scored twice in the Europa League, maybe Trabspospor will have been impressed enough to take him off our hands. Seriously doubt he will be selected for Italy, and anyway do we want him to do well, since that would probably mean England losing against his side. 3 more years on his contract, think we have been shafted.

Sunderland fielded ineligible player against us at SMS
VectisSaint replied to Pancake's topic in The Saints
No, AFC Wimbledon are members of the Football League. Sunderland are members of the Premier League. Different organisations, different rules. Also different "crime", one was simply that an international clearance for a loan returnee had not been obtained. Most interesting thing here, if there is anything interesting at all, is that it was Saints' former secretary who was responsible as she had become secretary at Sunderland. Cardiff and Fulham at least are now so far behind Sunderland that a points deduction would not help them anyway. -
Come on Saints, 3 points today nice way to celebrate what would have been Ted's 96th birthday.

That's 4 as a direct result of this thread. There are others, me included, who have previously cancelled their subscription as a direct result of the lack of moderation and control of these irritating trolls, but still read between the ignores and occasionally post (thats one of my 3 posts gone which is a shame on an away match day)

4 posts already on this thread since this enlightening post earlier.

For the position he plays in the team there is not much to criticise with his goals and assists. This season he has 8 (goals and assists). This is the same number (of goals and asissts) as Frank Lampard, Jack Wilshere, Fernandinho, Skrtel and Schurle. Reasonably good company (OK less goals than all of these but more assists). Our nextbest is Gaston (4) and Clyne (4). Cork and Wanyama between them muster 1 (assist), even Boruc is credited with 1 assist. Yet often Davis is playing in a more defensive position than either Jack or Vic when he is covering for Clyne or Chambers bombing forward. I'm not sure what some people expect in terms of goals and assists. I'd like to see him score more for sure, and I must admit he should have scored on Saturday, but to dismiss Davis as "not enough goals and assists" suggests a lack of understanding of how the game works and his role in our team. The reality is that 8 is a very good return for the position he plays. He is also a lot more skilled that some give him credit for. If he had been a Saints Academy graduate he would be our team captain. It will be very difficult to find someone to take his place in the team, if we do find someone, e.g. a better Gaston, then we will need Morgan, jack and Vic to make a far greater contribution in the goals and assists stakes. As others have said Davis is also one of the most improved players under MP, his goals/assists stats bear this out, 3 last season, 8 this - 1 assist last season, 6 this.

Walker out of World Cup, room for Clyne?
VectisSaint replied to Golac's Iron Gonads's topic in The Saints
Hodgson said as much, there will be no surprise inclusions in the squad. -
37.93% for Saints 32.92% for Espanyol 34.25% overall. Wrong again.

We have Mods? Wow. Administrator doesn't understand the issue, believes it to be a case of like or dislike and shouldn't be a problem because we are all "grown ups". Unfortunately Steve's post shows how pointless it is hoping that something will be done about these dullards and why this forum will continue to descend to the depths of two or three posters who are not Saints supporters and who are only here for a wind up. Forums are for discussion, for some light-hearted banter and also to exchange information about the subject between supporters of Saints, but there is no point in a discussion with someone who offers no point of view other than to take the contrary standpoint of everyone else (except the other trolls) simply to wind up, who is clearly not a Saints supporter and/or who offers no opinion at all, only posting interminable new questions designed purely to wind everyone up. This place would not be dull without these people, it could actually become an enjoyable experience, sadly the surgery required may be too late as we no longer have many of the posters who actually helped to make this forum interesting. No need to ban the trolls, but they could at least be limited to the Lounge or the non-Saints part of this Forum.

The Guardian predict 14th place finish for Saints
VectisSaint replied to Toon Saint's topic in The Saints
No, Wet Sham have lost more points from a winning position than us so far. Its a daft statistic anyway, in order to lose points from a winning position you have to be winning in the first place. Man City have lost 12 points from winning positions (compared to our 18) and they will most likely win the league. So if we manage to only drop 11 points next season from a winning position will we win the league? Nope. Crystal Palace have only dropped 6 points from a winning position this season, equal best in the league, probably because for most of the season they never took the lead in the first place until Pulis turned them around).
