Probably just as well, we look knackered when we play 3 games in 7 days, at least we don't have to do that again this year.

Why do we only get one O in Southamptn? There is plenty of space for our second O :-) Bloody media bias.

Just wondering from today's stats, Liverpool had 24 shots, 11 on target. I guess one of those was the goal, so did Gazza have 9 or 10 saves to make (hitting the woodwork does not count as on target)? Because in previous matches he has actually had precious little to do apart from the goals which has been a testament to our better defensive organisation - one terrific save against Newcastle but hardly any other shots on target. My concern with Gazza has mainly been about whether he can actually make saves because there has been little evidence so far.

I didn't see Spurs so cannot comment. Against Villa he looked full of running and enthusiasm, but his touch was woeful, Bambi on ice sort of thing, and he was only on the pitch for 15 minutes when we were 3-1 up. Not knocking him by any means, just saying we haven't really seen enough of him to make any judgements, and I don't understand why, can only assume that Adkins does not see much from him in training. Perhaps after today Adkins may think about making some changes, 5 games with unchanged side, and first defeat I can understand why he kept the same team. I think a couple of changes might freshen things up.

The way things are going we may not have the worst goals against column for much longer...Reading currently 27 against with 1.5 matches in hand over us (32)

Unless he gets some games, its debatable whether he will even go to the Africa Cup (actually I'm sure he will). Zambia must be wondering why their star player is not even getting a game at the moment, he will hardly be match-sharp. Must admit from what I've seen I've not been impressed, apart from his enthusiasm, but like most have hardly seen anything at all as yet. I think this week has highlighted that our squad depth is not what it needs to be, we have a decent 1st XI but we don't have much to bring in when needed.

You're not too keen on Yoshida are you...
-
Think we may be struggling because of the white kit, not used to playing in it, must have confused some of our players.
-
Don't see it myself, apart from Suarez and possibly Gerrard (who is way past his best), they really are lacking in any real talent. IMHO.

Is Puncheon playing? I don't think I've heard him mentioned so far.

Worrying as Liverpool are not even one of "the bigger sides". This is not the Liverpool of old, very average team at the moment. Clear that 3 games in 6 days is beyond us. Its usually good to keep unchanged side, but this week was one of the times when we could have done with a bit of squad rotation.

He was quoted as saying he saved a John Barnes penalty twice at Anfield in his Wigan days I believe.

The Result Tonight v Norwich-How Do You Look At It...!?!

I don't get this sort of reaction. This is not the old Liverpool. Have you seen them this season? They are very poor, only Suarez is keeping them ticking over, shame he was not booked last night. The problem I see is that we looked jaded last night, I think 3 games in 6 days is going to be a major factor, shame really because i think otherwise we would have a decent shout of a point against a very poor Liverpool side. Still don't think we'll get tonked, 1-0 maybe realistic, but we'll see. -
Bloke on BBC Live text said he was doing Gingham dancing. I really had no idea what he meant. I don't have much idea what Gangnam is either, but I at least am glad that Sammy the Saint is not wearing gingham.

I think 3 games in 6 days is not going to help us this week. I fancied us to get something against Liverpool but Suarez didn't get booked and I think they may be able to outrun us on Saturday now. Hope Shaw is OK as well, could be a problem if not. Still positive, 8 points from 4, defence is beginning to look sound, just wish I had confidence in one of our keepers. Perhaps NA can have a go between the sticks.

FFS give it a rest, all of you, this is a match thread, not a playground argument...
-
A change from what? The very good games he had previously. Was top class against the barcodes, with the exception of his passing and set pieces.
-
Right back last time we saw him. Good on crosses.
-
Afraid that's been coming. Gazza has seemed OK but really hasn't had to make more than 1 or 2 saves in any of the last 3 games.

At London Bridge it is 265 metres wide, so could fit 2 football pitches end to end and have some space. In any case I was envisaging a platform being built out into the Thames with the megastadium built on top of it. River traffic should not be impacted and there would be mooring berths for the super rich and famous pals of Saggy to tie up their yachts while the matches were taking place. I don't think the suggestion is any more ridiculous than trying to build a stadium in Portsmouth Dockyard to incorporate the IW Ferry terminal :-) It may even be possible to incorporate a petting zoo.

Yoshi's defending on Sunday was very good, as it was against QPR. Admittedly Ba and Cisse really did not cause too many problems but he dealt with everything superbly. Unfortunately for Yoshi some people will probably slate him for the rest of his Saints career based on the 2 matches when he played at LB and RB where he was absolutely awful. He has been a rock in defence apart from these 2 games and has formed a very good partnership with Fonte. BUT, his biggest weakness is his distribution - he does well to win the ball and then his passes more often than not go astray and his headers often fall to opposing players. And why anyone lets him take set pieces is beyond me. Stick to the day job Yoshi, you are very good at it, give up any notion of taking free kicks or playing as a wide defender.
-
True, although to be fair he is not the first keeper to have to pick a penalty from Beattie out of the net. I think I may put a few quid on Preston to win against the Gills though, maybe the bookies don't know how bad he is.
-
He did have probably his worst game of the season against the Baggies (although rubbish may be a bit strong). Otherwise has been superb all season (I didn't watch the shambles against the Arse so if he had a bad game that day as well then I would concede that he has had 2 poor games).
