Unless some of the sleety snowy stuff falling here this morning heads 80 miles east and turns into a snowstorm forcing the match to be abandoned, 0 points for both teams today is an unlikely scenario. Even then the match would be replayed at a later date. I think you have to accept that one way or another at least 2 points will be awarded today.

Draw would be ideal.

Can he play at left back?
-
There are also frequent reports about friction between Bould and Wenger, not necessarily a good idea
-
So quite an good idea then. I'm not going to say whether I have a second team because it would seem that if I did it would mean I know nothing about football. I'm also not going to say whether I have a mistress in case my wife reads this post. I assume Mr Turkish Delight has neither a mistress, a second team or a wife for that matter.

Don't know who Atkins is, but good to know he has a psychology degree. Our manager Adkins has a degree in physiotherapy, but has some similarities to this bloke Atkins because he has a diploma in the same subject.

Not a problem if the same guy who did the 1st Ted Bates statue does it. Just make it up and as long as it doesn't look like Milan Mandic who would know (or care)
-
Actually, no they wouldn't. They know his man management skills are appalling, but as he is getting results they tend to overlook them.
-
Thanks for pointing this out, voted for Mitchell, far more deserving than MLT. I would have thought Terry Paine was just as good an option as MLT anyway. Ted Bates would have been the most obvious football related candidate, but of course there are already a couple of statues of him. Appalled that Ken Russell didn't even make the shortlist.

The teams playing tonight came on here last night and saw the result of NA playing a weak side and decided then and there that they would not make the same mistake. Actually the difference tonight is that all the teams playing are PL, the teams that got caught out yesterday were the ones playing lower league opposition. Sure NA completely underestimated Leeds, despite the mantra before every game of never underestimating the opposition. In actual fact we usually do the opposite and over estimated the opposition and spend the first 20 minutes playing in awe of teams that really are no better than us, and only wake up when we have gifted them a couple of goals.
-
Especially when you look at the Arsenal team. We played our reserves, not sure they didn't put Walcott and Arshavin out with the 3rd team :-) Can you imagine the melt down on here if we had lost a 4-0 lead with our first team out to an Arsenal XI. Not trying to put a gloss on our performance though which sounded absolutely shocking. 3 prem teams lose out to lower league opposition, and Villa struggle against our new manager's league one team (joking).

Summary of Nigel's Post-Match interview after Leeds
VectisSaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Surely the most significant points actually are: I must take full responsibility I made 11 changes, you can talk about it all day long - we played 48 hours ago and have to consider recovery process After tonight, there will be consequences for that performance It is my responsibility - that team should be able to win, but it is my responsibility The chairman will decide what is right for the football club Our relationship (NA and NC) has to be right and correct We need stability but cannot keep losing games like that I don't want to be anywhere else, I want nothing more than for SFC to be successful - and be successful together In summary: Players let me down, its my responsibility, Cortese will fire me in the morning (if not before). -
Stephens and Chambers aren't even youth, they are 1st team squad, promoted in the Summer, too old for the youth teams now, so only options are u21 or the 1st team in cup games. Actually surprised they are not playing rather than on the bench.
-
He would have been the first to moan full stop. I love the way the man describes our players as nobodys. Chambers and Stephens, called up for England U19s, clearly nobodys.

Who on here booed Guly when he came on Sunday?
VectisSaint replied to sotonian's topic in The Saints
There is quite a lot of truth in this, there is always a player that the crowd like to taunt. We even used to jeer at Mick Channon in the early days. But the Guly situation has become a little ridiculous with seemingly otherwise intelligent people booing him and insulting him. He has been uninspiring so far this season, really needs a goal to get his confidence back. But what really annoys me is the claim that he is lazy, when it is so obvious that he is anything but, probably covers more ground per minute than anyone apart from Spiderman, and has far more defensive ability than many other players. But mud sticks, and he will always be branded a liability in the box because of the OG. Bottom line though anyone who actually boos a player when he comes on to the pitch is a knob, and sadly we have plenty of those amongst our so-called fan base. -
Doesn't matter whether I choose to believe it or not, we'll know soon enough. Its actually all over the web that he is about to sign or even that he has already signed if you google gazzaniga and bristol city. But if you read them most of the stories point back to someone posting on here. It is on the Sun's web pages by the way, if Mr Turkish had let us know this then there may not have been so much fecking speculation. Still find it strange to go to Bristol City, their message boards seem to suggest they are crying out for a RB or a MF enforcer.

13k+ posts and 2 allegedly were news to everyone. The Phillips story was all over the place, how you can claim that is an absloute classic. You do have a reputation of making things up, and posting rubbish, thats the problem. So when you do post something that is vaguely interesting or might have some legs no-one believes you. So you are reporting "what you've been told" abaout Gazza, so why don't you say that in the first place? Who have you been told by, doesn't need to be a name, just an idea, was it a cabbie, someone that works at the club, a little elf that you met on your travels, a journo from the Echo, or was it something that you read in the Sun (which is what one person claims, should be easy to establish, I'm sure someone on here reads the Sun, or at least looks at the pictures, or can take a look at one down the Take-away tonight)? We've got 2 pages now on this rumour, and only one possible substantive report that it may be true. In all seriousness, going to Bristol City really would be a very strange one, shipping out a keeper who needs games to a team that has 2 good keepers, but who are also having a crisis and are lacking in confidence. I actually suspect Gazza may go out on loan, and it was probably the plan from the start, just that things changed a bit when we had to replace KD, but now that we have Boruc we do not need to play our inexperienced keeper in the PL. We'll see.

Reaction suggest no basis in fact. You only needed to indicate where you heard it. But like a lot of the other stuff you post on here this would suggest you just made it up to gain attention, something to do in between pestering people with your telesales patter.

Room 101 - Milligan's views on Portsmouth What a Hero
VectisSaint replied to monosaint's topic in The Lounge
Is that right? Are they still arguing over whether his epithet "I told you I was ill" could be engraved? I thought they had settled the matter by engraving it in Irish. Found this online: http://www.ryeandbattleobserver.co.uk/news/letters/where_s_spike_gone_1_3212801 -
Room 101 - Milligan's views on Portsmouth What a Hero
VectisSaint replied to monosaint's topic in The Lounge
Spike was good but even if he would struggle to entertain these days, dead comedians are not usually very funny. -
I know the average age of our team is quite low, but this is about youth football. I disagree with Henning Berg about it not being much fun to win 17-0, I remember a game when I was a kid we won something like 26-0 and I scored 6, it was great fun (I was not a prolific goal scorer). I also played in a 33-2 defeat, not much fun, but character building at least. Kids today, to much molly-coddling :-) I notice the local girls league that I used to be Secretary of now have a policy of not reporting the score if the goal difference is 10 or more, but they still record the goal scorers so you can work out the real result.
-
That's despite Adkins being reported this morning as having no knowledge of the incident. Is there any real basis for the Gazza loan story? Where has it come from other than the OP. Given the OP is Mr Turkish it could be ******.
-
Agreed, he looked fine on Sunday and was not at fault for either goal. Some people make up their minds on one viewing and thats it. Bit like with Yoshi, had poor games at RB and LB and people here now think he's poor CB, truth is he is top drawer.

Is Roy a free-agent?
