  1. We'll see
  2. Is he OK? Must have missed that.
  3. True, although it was based only on the 2nd half when we were chasing the game. Even so we did look a shambles in the middle.
  4. Why would be want a complete wuss like Savage (Savage by name but not by nature).
  5. The fact that Saints came out and said that after studying the video evidence there was no case to answer last week seems to have been missed by some.
  6. Boruc incident was cleared up last week by SFC on Monday, stated categorically that there was no case for Boruc to answer. Gazza loan was a made up rumour which seemed to eminate on this board IMHO Boruc will play and Davis will be on the bench, and thus someone will probably start another rumour about Gazza.
  7. This is correct, and what is worse because he doesn't fill the space that a LB should the rest of the defence gets pulled across to cover for his inability which then leaves us not just stretched but exposed on the left side as well. The problem is that there is currently no solution to the problem, unless we are still able to sign an out of contract player into our squad (jury is out whether we have a vacancy or not), so we have to stick with what we have got, because it is surely better than playing a CB (Yoshi) at LB. For one short period in a game we actually had what looked like a decent solution when Frazer replaced Clyne who then went to LB. Not ideal but better than what we have for sure. On top of all that wha I hate more than anything about Fox is that every time he gets skinned and we concede due to his mistake, he is always to be seen hands on hips facing the goal with a "who can I blame" look on his face. Come the January revolution it should be tally-ho to Mr Fox.
  8. But if we are at the end of the season, or at the next annual financial reporting date, then is there a problem with a short term loan to obviate cash flow problems. Premier League TV money arrives at certain times in the season, but expenditure on players happens primarily at the start of the season (and maybe in January). Too many financiers only worry about quarterly results, when we should be more concerned about the longer term (at least yearly). If we can be self-sustaining from season to season then there is no cause for concern. But a few on here do not understand company finances and take great delight in apparently proving that our Chief Exec doesn't know what he is doing (in their view). Anyway it is apparently all the fault of Les Reed who is probably a closet Skate.
  9. Another give up merchant post. Spineless. Bloody glad I don't have to rely on you in a difficult situation. Roll over, give up and moan about it ad nauseum. I expect at the end of the January window if we do you will tell us that he or they cannot possibly be any good, why would they join Southampton as we are obviously Championship bound. Then you will proceed to repeat in every thread until the end of the season. Totally regardless of our results of course. Then at the end of the season you will start bleating on about getting signings in quick for the next season even though you know that like every other club in the country we will not do that, and you will continue with this all summer long. God help us.
  10. Well, I guess your mate TDD set this up so that you could repeat the same old stuff ad nauseum. Don't you ever get fed up posting the same old same old? You could have at least waited until tomorrow when I confidently predict we will still be bottom of the league, because West Brom will beat us, then at least you could argue that it was at least a little bit original. Your tedious "I told you" **** is just beyond a joke. It may be true, but you just seem to take great delight in pushing it over and over and over again. People who give up like you and Alps after 10 games are just sad little cowards with no spine. But of course you told everyone this was going to be the case so lets all fall over ourselves in awe at your glorious knowledge of all footballing matters. Things don't look brilliant at the moment, but how about we see if things might improve before the end of the season before giving up and chucking the towel in which would be your way. Bloody cowards, can't deal with a few poor results, don't seem much like Saints fans to me, if you were you would be used to this ****.
  11. Usual rubbish, "no experienced manager will come within a mile". Just you wait until Adkins is sacked every experienced and even more inexperienced managers will crawl out of their holes boasting that they could do it, when in reality most of them would do no better. And how can Cortese and Reed wind their necks in? When was the last time we heard either of them say anything of note in public? I think their necks are already wound in tight as a ducks arse.
  12. Unless some of the sleety snowy stuff falling here this morning heads 80 miles east and turns into a snowstorm forcing the match to be abandoned, 0 points for both teams today is an unlikely scenario. Even then the match would be replayed at a later date. I think you have to accept that one way or another at least 2 points will be awarded today.
  13. Draw would be ideal.
  14. Can he play at left back?
  15. There are also frequent reports about friction between Bould and Wenger, not necessarily a good idea
  16. So quite an good idea then. I'm not going to say whether I have a second team because it would seem that if I did it would mean I know nothing about football. I'm also not going to say whether I have a mistress in case my wife reads this post. I assume Mr Turkish Delight has neither a mistress, a second team or a wife for that matter.
  17. Don't know who Atkins is, but good to know he has a psychology degree. Our manager Adkins has a degree in physiotherapy, but has some similarities to this bloke Atkins because he has a diploma in the same subject.
  18. Not a problem if the same guy who did the 1st Ted Bates statue does it. Just make it up and as long as it doesn't look like Milan Mandic who would know (or care)
  19. Actually, no they wouldn't. They know his man management skills are appalling, but as he is getting results they tend to overlook them.
  20. Thanks for pointing this out, voted for Mitchell, far more deserving than MLT. I would have thought Terry Paine was just as good an option as MLT anyway. Ted Bates would have been the most obvious football related candidate, but of course there are already a couple of statues of him. Appalled that Ken Russell didn't even make the shortlist.
  21. The teams playing tonight came on here last night and saw the result of NA playing a weak side and decided then and there that they would not make the same mistake. Actually the difference tonight is that all the teams playing are PL, the teams that got caught out yesterday were the ones playing lower league opposition. Sure NA completely underestimated Leeds, despite the mantra before every game of never underestimating the opposition. In actual fact we usually do the opposite and over estimated the opposition and spend the first 20 minutes playing in awe of teams that really are no better than us, and only wake up when we have gifted them a couple of goals.
  22. I seem to recall going to a lot of home games last season that were not on a Saturday at 3pm. So this is one that I will be missing then, travelling down on a Monday night in January is not my idea of fun.
  23. Especially when you look at the Arsenal team. We played our reserves, not sure they didn't put Walcott and Arshavin out with the 3rd team :-) Can you imagine the melt down on here if we had lost a 4-0 lead with our first team out to an Arsenal XI. Not trying to put a gloss on our performance though which sounded absolutely shocking. 3 prem teams lose out to lower league opposition, and Villa struggle against our new manager's league one team (joking).
  24. Surely the most significant points actually are: I must take full responsibility I made 11 changes, you can talk about it all day long - we played 48 hours ago and have to consider recovery process After tonight, there will be consequences for that performance It is my responsibility - that team should be able to win, but it is my responsibility The chairman will decide what is right for the football club Our relationship (NA and NC) has to be right and correct We need stability but cannot keep losing games like that I don't want to be anywhere else, I want nothing more than for SFC to be successful - and be successful together In summary: Players let me down, its my responsibility, Cortese will fire me in the morning (if not before).
  25. Stephens and Chambers aren't even youth, they are 1st team squad, promoted in the Summer, too old for the youth teams now, so only options are u21 or the 1st team in cup games. Actually surprised they are not playing rather than on the bench.
