  1. If they are part owners, then they have a say in how much the fee will be, i.e. they negotiate what the 30% is part of, Blogna cannot decie a fee in isolation. If its just a sell-on clause they just get what they are given. Very different. I suspect they also pay some of his wages so that aloso bear some of the risk of ownership.
  2. If you could be bothered to actually read my post dulldays you would have noticed that I was not judging him on today's performance (alone). I watched him throughout last season and felt much the same against inferior opposition. He had some good games, but overall defensively he was often found wanting. But everyone put blinkers on and blamed the person in front of him for not providing adequate cover. Well now we have seen that he is the same whoever is in front of him, it is clear that he is not a great LB. Of course some of the dumb asses thought he was great because he replaced their pet scapegoat Dan Harding, well I know today that Harding would not have given away the 3rd goal (he may have screwed up elsewhere of course but thats not the point). As I said, it is quite clear that Fox is on borrowed time, there is a very good reason why the #3 shirt has not been taken and why we have been trying to sign a better LB. Unlike some I do not write off players after one performance, I take a longer term view, and based on that look at who is not up to the mark. By the way I also think Kelvin is not the answer for the GK position, but that's not based on one game either, just in case you think it is.
  3. Who did you expect to be on the bench as defensive cover? Apart from Stephens there were not too many options. BTW it Seaborne. Thought he had been a Saints player long enough now that people could spell his name.
  4. Sorry, just don't accept this argument. Fox's biggest calamity resulted in their winner, it had nothing to do with midfielders providing cover, it was just **** poor positioning and decision making. Fox was caught out before hand so many times, you cannot always blame that on the wide player in front of him. Sorry, but I thought it last year and I am not convinced that Fox is good enough. It seems like I am not the only one either, since we are clearly planning for a new first choice LB.
  5. Yep, apparently. Take your pick from "the whole match" or "a brain". Only people who know nothing about football or were not watching the match would make such a stupid comment today. It really beggars belief that there are people who apparently support Saints who are so, well, dense.
  6. To be fair, getting shot of the awful red shirt isn't a bad idea ;-) It almost felt like it was an away kit today, I keep expecting us to roll out with the stripes next weekend.
  7. If that's the case why was Clyne probably our best player. Sorry, fact is that Fox was shown to be very poor today, hence why we have been trying to sign a LB, and left the #3 shirt vacant. He is OK going forward but lightweight in defence. The only other areas where we were shown up today sadly was with good old Kelvin, for the most experienced player on the pitch his nervousness was infectious. We really need to put sentiment aside and sign a proper #1. But well played to everyone, with Chun back and hopefully Ramirez and Phillips to come we look reasonably good, given we need a good CB as well. Fonte was good today, it was Jos who looked dodgy if anything.
  8. Need a proper left back, think we may have hung on if Harding had played instead of Fox :-) May prove to have been a mistake. Well done Ricky and well done Steve Davis, debut goal, looked very good.
  9. As we were this morning, so a good day really.
  10. Scottish international though (ducks to avoid incoming from Kraken when he slimily emerges from the depths of the sea)
  11. Fortunately people who can see more have a different opinion, Guly has been applauded by the commentators (Neville) for his runs off the ball that are not necessarily being seen on the TV. Pls don't start on Guly already, when he is doing quite well and doing what is being asked, there are many more deserving players of criticism.
  12. Clyde, Best player for Saints (by the way who is Clyde?) Whole team looks nervous, apart fro Clyne, giving Citeh too much respect. Needs Davis in the middle to help keep the ball.
  13. This. Woolnough is a complete arse, at least when Jimmy Hill presented you felt there was someone who had played the game and been involved in football clubs who had some idea what he was talking about. Nowadays, a load of 3rd rate hacks who spout rubbish week after week and who all have their little agendas.
  14. Do some teams have 2 managers already?
  15. Trigger happy :-)
  16. Over-hyped bull**** from so-called journos who don't know their ass from their elbow, but who like to make things up to make it sound like they know what's going on at St Mary's. Not saying NA is not under pressure, but I'm sure NC and NA have discussed the targets for the season in a rational manner. Its best not to listen to these ****s on Sky.
  17. Perhaps he was a ray.
  18. Too young to remember John McGrath?
  19. I'm sure you're right, it is clearly a panic reaction to the result of a friendly match, and none of these transfers were even contemplated before Di Natale popped up with a couple of worldies.
  20. Well, there is a glimmer of hope for us if Milner is playing. Apart from the keeper (who I do not know), that is a very strong side, Milner has presumably been included to try to even things up a bit. Bit like playing with 10 men.
  21. This seems to be this year's instalment of Cortese's present to the manager, Papa Waigo, Guly and now Ramirez.
  22. Not forgetting WBA, Newcastle and Man City. Bolton and Blackburn had also done well recently until they crashed last term. I don't recall the Baggies spending a lot last time they came up, I suspect Toon did but can't be sure, of course Citeh were the ultimate spenders, although they mainly brought in experienced foreigners rather than lots of PL experience. Then there was that other team, names begins with P, don't know whatever happened to them after their free spending on experienced PL players :-) There are plenty of examples that prove both sides of the argument. Acid test for Norwich and Swansea will be this season now they have lost the managers who were inspirational for them, I suspect both might struggle this season (hopefully).
  23. Is kidnapping worse than tapping up? :-)
  24. Davis also had 22 PL appearances for Fulham and was not relegated with them either.
  25. Based on NOT having Fletchers back, I would predict 3rd, and then they would lose in the play-offs. This is based on the premise I always stated but you were too thick to understand that the Scotland team is only brought together for a couple of days before every game and does not have the continuity that league teams do, and also on the understanding that I always made clear that there are always withdrawals before every game, which is very unlike league teams. I stand by what I said, based on those assumptions Scotland would struggle (to get out of) L1, and I suggest they will struggle tonight against Oz. Prove me wrong on the L1 theory, of course you can't, its an opinion, and its as valid as yours, so stop being a little ****. International football outside the Top 10 or so is very poor quality, and is usually as boring as **** to watch, and exciting matches against teams such as the Faroes or San Marino fighting for a result to end up a meaningless 4th in a qualifying group must be the most soul destroying way to play football, as Danny will find out in the not too distant future. But as I said before good luck to him playing for his adopted (Grandmother's) team, I really do wish him all the best, but please don't try to make it look as though it is some sort of sporting pinnacle.
