  1. So, good to see Chung is training, even if not playing yet, must be close to fitness.
  2. Adkins is the backup keeper, better keeper than Tommy Four/Fivepast will ever be. I expect us to sign Buffon any day but only as back up to Kelvin. IANITK.
  3. Excellent, that will be useful if the referee forgets his, you can let him know when 90 minutes is up.
  4. Although its not clear whether he didn't play because of the clearance or due to his fitness, Adkins suggested he was not fit. I don't actually see anything stopping players taking part in friendlies, even if as a Trialist, unless it is for insurance purposes.
  5. Do you think Tommy Fourpast can ride a bike?. I suspect he dropped it just after the photo was taken.
  6. Agreed. His problem is that he has a languid style which gives the impression of laziness. In fact he is probably one of the hardest working players on the pitch. People want to see players running around like headless chickens doing an impression of a road runner, they think that is the sign of a good player.
  7. As I said I won't claim its racism, but sometimes it makes me wonder. You should try sitting in the Itchen/Chapel corner, you will hear loads of unwarranted (and some warranted) abuse given to Guly. Really hacks me off, especially with all the kids around. There are a large number of total idiots who seem to congregate in that area (and there are a large number of great supporters there who are totally embarrassed by the idiots).
  8. Tommy Fourpast was on the bench a few times for Spuds, not sure it is really that good a benchmark, they were times when Spuds were a complete crock of ****e. It is no good thinking we should get a fee for Lee, bottom line is that he is probably on high wages, higher than most Championship/L1 clubs could afford, only way to move him on and allow him to play football is to let him go for free. demand a fee and clubs like Swindon are not in the market, that's why Lee Holmes ended up going to PNE, when he really wanted to join Swindon. Think Swindon would be a good place for Barnard, might get into some tussles with our local fascist though.
  9. Can't believe you have never heard the abuse Guly gets, it is quite embarrassing some games, and usually totally unjustified. Have you never heard the ****s who phone in to Radio Solent after the game and blame Guly for everything. Of course sometimes he gets what he deserves he does have some games where he is not exceptional, so does Ricky but he doesn't get the abuse that Guly does. I will not say it is racist, but sometimes you do wonder with some of the abuse given to him. My daughter has Guly's name on her shirt, she gets quite upset with some of the stuff aimed his way by some morons in the ground.
  10. Why would anyone want to drink beer imported from Thailand at a football match in England. Don't we have enough varieties of beer brewed in Uk or even Europe? If you think its expensive then maybe consider that you are paying for transport costs, import duty and also to support. CHelsea a nd Manure who ade partly sponsored by this brewer.
  11. Perhaps we could pipe Jedward into the away dressing room.
  12. Far from it: Beattie or Lambert? Lambert Ormerod or Sharp? Sharp Jones or Davis? Davis (Niemi was better but 2/3 of the Cup Final) Richardson or Baird? Close, I like Baird, but Richardson is probably better attacking Lundekvam or Fonte? On the evidence of the Cup Final I'll take Fonte thanks Svensson or Hooiveld? Killer Bridge or Fox? Bridge Telfer or Guly? Guly Oakley or Cork? Oakley Spiderman or Anders? Spiderman any day (I suppose it would be fairer to compare Spiderman with Oaks) Lallana or CMFG? Lallana So as individuals I would rate 7 of 11 current team better than the Cup Final team. Admittedly Killer and Claus were better as a pairing than the individuals, and Bridge & CMFG similarly, but in truth the current team is better than that team was in reality. Difference was WGS got a bunch of ordinary players playing above their capabilities due to their fitness. I haven't even taken Jay Rod & Steve Davis into account.
  13. Some of our posters sleep better at night when Mummy tucks them in. Its a shame we have to take this sort of drivel to pander to the lowest common denominator, but I guess thats the level of Sky reports and interviewers these days, oh for something insightful and interesting.
  14. Bloody phone keyboards :-)
  15. I think this could be put in the category of stating the bleeding obvious. Has been clear for ages that we need.2 keepers and 2 CBs. You cannot go into a seaon with 2 or 3 CBs, and no offence to Dan but he was not really good enough before his injury. Likewise, only having 2 serious keepers would be a huge risk, Tommy Fourpast is not a serious option for any professional football team. It would have been more intereting to know whether other positions were still under consideration, especially MF.
  16. Actually the real grass (on the right) looks in decent nick considering it was ripped up later than ideally and with the weather we've had since. I hate those advertising hoardings, specially on telly. I hope we will be installing something a bit more classy than Recaros, maybe NC will get a job lot of Ferrari or Maserati (I hesitate to add Alfa) seats from his mates in Eetaly.
  17. Perhaps Rangers Newco should apply to replace them in League 2
  18. Most banks are major plcs as well. And we all know they are all a bunch of bankers. But I tend to agree, its beginning to sound like horse****, just can't work out what Claus thought he would gain from it, he must beseriously off his rocker.
  19. Many teams last season did not name 25 players. Leaving gaps makes sense, allows signing of fee agents if needed. Forecast, Barnard, Forte & Dickson will not be in the 25-man squad. I would be surprised to see Seaborne named either. I suggest we will still sign 2 keepers, at least 1 will be u21, 2 CBs and another midfielder. So we'll probably end up with 24 or 25 named players. The squad can be changed in January, new players brought in, players previously named dropped.
  20. Claus says, " We would then give the money to one of the staff who would put the money on for us, so we didn’t have to do it ourselves and so create suspicion". I doubt he meant the staff were sent overseas to place the bet, unless they hopped on a Red Funnel ferry to Cowes. Given the time when Claus alleges this was happening, it is beginning to seem less and less likely to me that he is telling the truth, his story doesn't seem to quite add up any more (couldn't read the article earlier when I was online at work, now I can at home and seeing Our Claus arm in arm with Le God, I am thinking MLT will be quite annoyed to be implicated with Claus the Moron by this picture in The Sun.
  21. Think you'll find otherwise. Tax records have to be kept for at minimum 6 years, most organisations keep stuff like this for much longer, if not forever. It will not be difficult for an investigator to dig up records from 10 years ago, if thats actually how long ago it was, my understanding was that it was less than that, 2005 or later.
  22. Hampshire Old Bill said at the time they would investigate if a complaint was made, but none was. I believe the FA decided there was not much point as MLT was no longer involved in the game (in terms of direct involvement with an FA affiliated organisation). Think the difference this time is that there are others implicated not just at Saints but elsewhere and some of those are still involved directly in football, either with FA affiliated clubs or overseas, and can therefore be investigated for bringing the game into disrepute and being suspended etc, regardless of criminal investigations. I see Franny is denying this happened, but the fact is that Franny was not always around when Blabber Claus was, so may not have been aware. Just because Franny was not aware doesn't mean it didn't happen.
  23. And Davies is not our goalkeeper, I should stick to following Arsenal if I were you Charlie.
  24. Why is it annoying to have MLT's name dragged through the mud? MLT admitted the same thing before Claus. He is just as guilty, makes not a jot of difference that he admitted to only doing it once. Thing is MLT is seen as a legend so its not the same. Well it is, both are stupid, but one is a stupid genius, while the other is a stupid centre half. Double standards. The issue here is that it is clear that people from other clubs colluded and are therefore just as guilt (aiding and abetting). I bet some of them, especially if they are still playing are bricking it now that blabbermouth has spilled the beans. Maybe they could investigate whether a certain R Lowe or H Redknapp knew what was going on.
