Comparisons between the two are meaningless as they have different roles. But if you are going to compare then there is no contest. Morgan is a defensive midfielder whose game is to sit in front of the 2 CBs, break up play and then get us going again. He is supreme at this, hardly ever gives the ball away and has great first touch. he is not there to score goals, but still manages more than Cork or Hammond (just). Cork is supposed to be more of an attacking MF, but has relatively poor touch and cannot score to save his life. Hopefully he will improve this aspect of his game because we cannot afford to have an offensive midfielder who is unable to socre goals.

Doubt it. I am not ITK, but these things are usually payments when a certain number of appearances are reached, not each time he makes an appearance. I would guess it is when he has made 10 competitve appearances. So maybe we will be 30% there by end of this tournament. It is the same with domestic payments of this type, bit like why the Skates could not pay a player after so many appearances because one more game would trigger a payment to his previous club. Look for AOC being withdrawn from an England team when he is about to make his 10th (or whatever it is) appearance.

Standard of international football is very poor. Its also (usually) boring as hell. In the middle of our season with an international team having 1 week to prepare, we'd probably hold our own against a few teams. Organisation and togetherness makes up for a lot.

It would be a little odd, given that KD turned down going to Wet Sham as understudy to Green a few years back to stay with us. Green is a decent keeper, probably better than KD all round, but the dynamics of having 2 No1 keepers might exercise NA's man-management skills.

Love to klnow how this fits with the idea of getting the youngsters in the first team. I suspect we have little or no payment from any of the clubs that we have loaned him out to, Bromley, Eastbourne Borough, very much doubt they contributed significantly to his wages, we may have even paid them since the benefit for us was surely for him to gain some experience. No, there is no logical reason for not paying him off, but I suspect there is an illogical one. Still I guess we need someone to put out the cones at Staplewood.

Of course he is entitled to be paid as per his contract. However that doesn't stop the Club paying off his contract in full (in other words giving him a years notice). The current management of SFC had no say in his contract, it was set up by a predecessor, but they do have the power to do something about terminating it. I really can't see the logic of not paying him off now and giving him the opportunity to find himself a club. Something still smells a bit fishy.

Really finding it difficult to see your point. When has Puncheon said anything, let alone anything negative? He got ****ed off because he wasn't included in the plans, but I don't recall him saying anything along the lines of Saints are crap, will be relegated to the Conference and all of Cortese's plans are rubbish. He just threw a hissy and wanted out. Then he saw that actually things are not so bad and wanted back in, only trouble is that he found that he simply was not good enough on a regular basis to be in the team. The guy is a tosser, but no-one that I can see apart from you is comparing anything Holmes said with what Puncheon said. Your argument is a bit pointless and never required the Puncheon mention, you just seem to be arguing for the sake of increasing your post count and continuing to make an arse of yourself.

Says it all about some people in my view. Made Beattie the player he was with his selfless running and support, an integral part of WGS' system. His goals total was not spectacular (11) but many bigger names fared worse (M Hughes for instance). 2 or 3 serious injuries blighted his career, yet he is still playing and still scoring goals. Not the greatest player in the world, but an honest, hard working pro who gave his all. Hardly any player actually deserves abuse, and certainly Brett is not one that does.

Sharp was getting stick before he started scoring, apart from his first which really wasn't his goal he did not score for a while and quite frankly looked out of his depth and very unfit, especially as we got to see Chung who fitted in straight away. Don't think many have given him stick since he started banging them in which clearly coincided with a change in his fitness. Except for the penalty miss at Blackpool of course which was criminal. My earliest memory of a whipping boy was actually Mick Channon. He was booed and laughed at in his early days, didn't seem able to stay on his feet. Took a while for some to realise that maybe it was because he was actually being fouled and the resultant free kicks and penalties were quite useful. Frank Saul was also none too popular after the departure of Chivers. Tom Jenkins was another whipping boy, as was Steve Williams at first, look what became of him. Matt Oakley was targeted completely unfairly, unfortunately some players such as Oaks, and to some extent the same with Morgan, are given roles and some fans just do not understand enough about football to understand this.

Seems self evident to me, Puncheon is a bit of a tosser, Holmes isn't. What has Puncheon said anyway since his return to the fold, clearly even he could see that things were actually pretty good at Saints. Anyway, I don't see what Holmes has said that is so unreasonable. He says he sees a bright future for the Club and people think he is mad. I think many people overlook where Man City were fairly recently. People would have laughed if you said they would win the PL in 2012 back in 1998. Chelsea have only become a major force since Abramovich took over, they were nearly always a mid-table side before that. Newcastle have had one good season (definitely no fluke), but it will be a real test of Pardew to repeat that next season when their squad is stretched due to the Europa Noddy League. Only Manure and Arse have been consistent top performers for the last 20 years. Spuds have hardly been top 6 until Redkrapp took over, if he goes (which is looking more likely) expect their fortunes to decline again (though it hurts me to say it). Things change. Look at Blackburn, even Forest and Derby, Villa are rubbish at the moment. It doesn't usually happen overnight, there is nothing wrong with ambition, I don't see us winning the PL in the foreseeable future, but nothing to say we could not sneak into the top 4 occassionally in a few years, Europa League is a definite possibility, although that really can be a double-edged sword, smaller clubs definitely struggle to maintain Europa and PL competitiveness.
